Going one better next season

943

We had a special night at the Celtic Supporters’ Association’s 67th Annual Rally last night.  It was great to see our two treble winning captains: Tom Boyd giving praise to the giant of the European game, Billy McNeill.

I had a chat with Scott Brown, who received his Association Player of the Year award.  A day before he collects his fourth consecutive league championship trophy you’d think he would afford a moment of satisfaction, but he’s not happy this isn’t a treble winning season.  The events at Hampden last month have left an open wound.  All he could talk about was going one better next season.

Before you leave for the game tomorrow remember to bring along some change to buy a Ronny Roar badge to raise funds for the work of your Foundation.  See you there.

We owe ICT a hammering ….they cheated their way to the cup final

I expect Broonie will have out bhoys right up for retribution

    We all appreciate your efforts

Do you really believe that CFC will properly purse Res12 and associated matters??

If so …why the delay thus far ?

Maybe Spiers reads CQN and the Celtic internet after all, it was posted within minutes of Dave King’s embarrassing comments becoming public, that he was foolishly reaffirming the new club were indeed, a new club.

    Still it’s always worth repeating.

  4. Neganon –

    Just been reading back.

Would you like to explain something to me?

You call yourself a Celtic fan. I am not doubting that but . . .

You were actually gloating at me and laughing at me because I predicted that QOS would beat Rangers and then predicting that Hibs would beat Rangers.

You even said you hope I lost a fortune at the bookies by betting against Rangers. As it happened I lost a total of £10 but that is neither here nor there.

Think about that. A so-called Celtic fan goading another Celtic fan because Rangers won 2 ties. Laughing at a Celtic fan because Rangers won.

Your slip is showing, and it stinks to high heaven.

  5. Hoop hoop hooray,

I certainly hope so he looks like an absolute quality youngster who will come on big big time under Ronny, I like him first time I saw him (I don’t usually make my mind up so quick) and asked about him on here, was told he would never sign for us, hopefully that is being put to bed.

Heard today we’ve bought Scott Allan. Do we need him?

    ————

I’d be surprised at that, never really impressed me considering the level he is playing at. Would also mean that someone like Bitton is for the off, which I would not like.

    Maybe they think they are only the bits of the old club that;

    a) don’t owe any money

    b) didn’t break any rules

    c) didn’t do anything which gave them any unfair advantages.

    Oh, wait a minute……………………

    PFAyr at 18.15.

The Draper and Ross booking incident from the semi has been totally wiped away as it was another sign of McLean’s imcompetence that day. He gave the foul for Draper’s late tackle on Broonie not the tackle by Ross on our captain.

I would love to know what was said between the three of them as McLean took longer than usual to issue the yellow card.

  10. There are 8 of us, family and friends, meeting up after the game tomorrow in a Glasgow bar for an end of season party.

Really looking forward to a great day of Celtic celebration.

Scott Allan is a superb prospect, would love to see him in the Hoops played in behind the Celtic lone gunner in the RD system.

    Dylan McGeouch plus cash?

  12. Craigellachie10 on

Surprised to hear that we’ve bought Scott Allan, that said he always has looked a class above anyone else on the park when I’ve seen him play. That’s at a lower league level certainly but he was very highly rated earlier in his career. The way he plays with head up looking for forward passes while also able to beat a man means I wouldn’t be surprised if Ronnie has at least had a look at him.

I’d also be surprised if Dylan wanted to hang around the lower leagues as that looks like the extent of Hibs’ ambition.

  15. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

Bourne, one of Scott Allan’s uncles did some work in our house last year.

Scott had just been released by West Brom after a loan spell at Birmingham.

He told me Scott’s preference was to go to a team in London as he could disappear there after a game and have a relatively quiet life.

If Scott Allan’s attitude is still the same about wanting to disappear after a game, I think its unlikely he will join us. His former Dundee Utd team mate, Gary Mackay – Steven, was quoted as saying if he’s at the supermarket, some of our fans who pass him are checking his trolley are checking if its healthy stuff in it.

Going by what I was told by Scott Allan’s uncle, the above would not impress young Mr Allan.

Did you see my post earlier that I believe the kerrydale opens at 1030 tomorrow

  17. After nearly two days of reading about some. “Supporters” on here justifying why they are not buying a season ticket (book) whateverr, all they had to do was look in the mirror, justify to themselves. Problem solved and we can get on with supporting Celtic in the real world.

Around October/November we had many questions about our team and the new manager, who had inherited a Championship winning team. Today we have panic about the currant buns should they make it into our division. ” they will pick up all the out of contract players and challenge us? Aberdeen and DU don’t spend a fortune but are at the top! Of course they had a few years to develops their team so l don’t expect 11 new guys to suddenly gel and make it to the champions league as GSL expects. First they have to find a manager, sorry they have to find money to pay for players and a manager and then start playing. When they spent 12 million pounds (heard you could buy a striker for that money) I said that unless they get the correct people in place it would be like Basil Fawlty in charge of the Dubai Hilton. They don’t have the money to keep going as it is so I don’t expect massive millions to be thrown into a black hole. IMHO.

Listening to people decrying the board at every turn reminds me of the Life of Brian. “What did the Romans do for us” just look at Roy Croppie’s old photos at Celtic Park then walk up the Celtic Way ” tomorrow to watch the Champions pick up their just desserts.

I won’t be there as I’m presently over seven (love that number) thousand miles from Paradise.

Enjoy the day, the future’s GREEN and WHITE.

  18. Dear Tom,

If you look back at what I actually said you will find that I did not say that I hoped you lost a fortune. Go on and then I will await an apology for your accusation.

Taking the point in hand I was simply pointing out that your flat earth society view that the SFA don’t cheat makes you think that the Huns won’t get promoted. Of course they will and if a team gets in the way fairly they cheating will begin.

You see To, your flat earth approach is clouding your judgement, whether it be with your betting or with my posts.

The one part of your post which was accurate was that when my slip is showing it is pretty ugly. Hence I have stopped wearing underskirts. But it’s a nightmare when my skirts are a bit see through. But that’s my business………

  19. Sandman – thanks for savine me typing something.very similar.

    Nail on head.

Celtic – champions. Miles ahead structurally and on the field.

A small minority worry about Sevco.

    I’m not among them.

If Gsl has £50 million to burn then they might give us a game next season (if they are in the SPL) if not then it will be regular spankings from us and the also runs for the Ibrox whoardes (that’s a deliberate misspelling!)

I’d be surprised if we signed him. Not that I am saying what you heard is not true. However, if a bid came in for Biton he maybe a replacement. Biton most likely to be offered an improved contract though.

We’ll sign a Left Back, possibly two CHs and a Striker. We have Fasan as backup GK but with Zakuska moving on another GK could be signed.

Broonie was allegedly a follower of the deidco, Scott I believe is as well. Not that the bothers me but if sevco can rustle up the money he would more likely to opt for them, boyhood dream and all that.

    Keep the Faith!

    Hail Hail!

  22. I must say I don’t care for the PLC but in the absence of a moment to bring about fan ownership of Celtic we don’t have much to.complain about other than the lack of living wage, the crappy food and the stewards…..

My brief contribution for today is done. Tired. In need of a coffee and a listen to some good music……

  23. Scott Allan for Celtic?

    Possibly.

Maybe Ronny could turn him into a player pushing for a first team starting spot.

    HH!!

  24. Neganon –

So why didn’t Rangers finish as champions? How did the corrupt SFA allow them to risk the play-offs?

The reason I thought, and still hope, Rangers won’t be promoted was because despite the cheating SFA and referees, they are so bad that they won’t be able to help them.

I still have hope in my heart that Motherwell beat them. It’s a real possibility.

As for the gambling. As I said, you were gloating and laughing at me for predicting Rangers defeats and when you mention that I must have lost a fortune, in the context of gloating, I know what you meant, so no apology from me.
