LEIGH GRIFFITHS will face NO disciplinary action from the SFA following the flashpoint incident with Hamilton Accies on Sunday.

The Celtic striker got involved in a tangle with the grounded midfielder and was alleged by some onlookers to have stamped on his opponent.

Referee Nick Walsh produced a yellow card after the clash following the Hoops star’s pushing-and-shoving match with Accies defender Alex Gogic who was also booked for his part in the quickfire fracas.

The SFA disciplinary panel have deemed that Griffiths will receive no further punishment.

The comeback hitman, who has scored three goals since the mid-winter break, will be available for tomorrow night’s game against Motherwell at Fir Park.

Champions’ boss Neil Lennon had admitted he would be “bewildered” if the 29-year-old Scotland international forward had faced any retrospective action, insisting there was “no malice” behind the incident.

Goals from Odsonne Edouard (2), Christopher Jullien and James Forrest gave the title kings a 4-1 win at the FYO stadium as they moved seven points clear of their nearest challengers.
