  1. I think we have criminally misused our period of domination.

    Terrible player recruitment.

    Woeful experimental managerial team.

Who ever is in charge of these areas of Celtic should be sacked without delay.

Our defenders are truly awful: Boyata, Simunovic, Svietchenko, Mulgrew, Blackett, oh God! Who finds these guys? Young Tierney looks a world beater because of the others with whom he can be compared. Last night, in the second half, he was dragged all over the place away from his left back position and, when HA crossed from our left the result was panic and chaos in our defense.

    This is shocking.

Up front Griff has been crap for weeks or, more accurately, since all that bollocks comparing him to Henrik. What genius started that? We have known all season the if he got injured or lost form then we would be in trouble. One up front! FFS!

However, we continue to buy decent, but not brilliant, midfielders instead of trying to get in a couple of proper forwards.

When was the last transfer we came out ‘stronger than we went in’, Peter?

But, we have a managerial team and board who have no shame. How many more empty seats will it take for Lawwell and the board to get off their arses and do something?

Arrogant doesn’t even come close to describing our board and unmerited arrogance at that. They don’t care about what’s going on. They sit in their Ivory Tower congratulating themselves that we aren’t going bust and waiting for the return of the undead.

And, as for Ronny, I think I’ll spew the next time I hear about how he’s ‘such a nice guy but…’

He’s a feckin chancer who has been found out, just like so many over-promoted chancer managers, but is bluffing his way along doing more and more damage because his bosses won’t admit their mistake in appointing him in the first place.

I am so pissed off with the whole lot of them.

Rant over but feelings of abject misery will only go when RD and crew do.

  2. Gerryfaethebrig on

    Archdeaconsbench…..

You are so correct, Celtic take up far too much of all our lives but we wouldn’t have it any other way, especially the fans that follow the team everywhere

Ballymentabhoy …..maybe…but I am sure Ronny does not read Cqn, and if he did am sure it would not effect him one little bit, again, I come from a rather large Celtic supporting family and have one or two pals who follow the hoops, to them Cqn is a group of eijits sitting in their living rooms posting on a message board about politics, family and other rubbish (as well as Celtic) a very tiny percent of a Celtic support, the word support can be used in many ways….especially on message boards

  3. Reflections on last night….

    – didn’t take the chances we had, again

    – still naive at the back. Boyata’s red wasn’t a red, but poor play out of defence led to him feeling the need for a last gasp tackle.

    – still lightweight. Hamilton are cluggers and our lack of physique allowed them compete. We can’t ‘take care of ourselves’. 46 midfielders (?) in the squad and none can tackle!

    – getting fed up playing with 10 men. It’s tedious and we are no’ very good at it

    – Tierney – what a player for a boy of his age. He is really going to go places

  4. Big Peat of Islay on

To not win ONE game in the Europa League is enough for any self respecting club, to sack the coach. But no; we like to prolong the pain. One by one, the sliverware dissolves before our eyes.

  5. WOW!

Ronny Deila makes a comment that I like.

Boyata was both last man and behind the guy when he made the tackle and in Europe that means only completely clean contact with the ball doesn’t result in a sending off.

Boyata made, at best, slight contact with the ball and more importantly, didn’t get his leg around the opposite side of the ball which you have to do when tackling from behind.

As Ronny says, the correct decision.

Some of the comments last night from people on here are laughable in their attempts to justify their own bigotry.

    Get over it folks.

THE OLD FIRM GAME WILL NEVER OCCUR AGAIN!

    That’s all folks!

  6. Sick kids managed to keep me away from CQN last night and in retrospect that was probably a good thing.

Having had a chance to sleep and reflect on it one glaring thing keeps coming up on me.

RD is just unlucky. Lots of bad decisions, from both referees and players and many things that have not gone his way that if he had the rub of the green then things would have been so different.

Thats whats been bothering me for weeks now.

Is RD too unlucky to be our manager, seems a weird thing to bring up but so many games where bad luck seems to stuff him.

Is the universe/fate/karma whatever you want to call it telling him its not his time???

  7. VALE BHOY on 27TH FEBRUARY 2016 7:59 AM

    Make that 2 of us

We have squandered our past 4 years – great financial management

Very poor football management in most areas

  8. Can I just add on the Boyata red card

Svietchhenko was caught out of position – again our team set up/ structure

Boyata trying to cover , as he has pace, which Svietchenko does not

Bottom line with our defence, it needs set up correctly to cut out the many many opportunities we offer to all teams that we play against

Oh and that should include the midfield

Right away oot with my dugs to remove the frustrtIon with what I am witnessing at my club

    Hail Hail

  9. Canamalar it looks like OCD obsession on

    Cowiebhoy,

The financial management has not been great, the fact that we are no bankrupt means they are not incompetent that’s all.

Had they improved the team and increased the budget for players while balancing the books, that would have been great, competent at managing the books and poor at managing the core business is what I see.

  10. Oh aye, and Sviatchenko didnae look fantastic last night. Almost every pass he made went to an opponent and even his direction of passing, who he was aiming at, was suspect, worrying.

ValeBhoy love the comment about directors not being prepared to admit their mistakes, thereby compounding their mistake, so true.

  11. CultsBhoy can not relate to Celtic Board ambitions on or off the park on

    archdeaconsbench on 27th February 2016 3:01 am

    100% agree.

The conveyor belt of ‘talent’ is all thT matters hence no continuity in the team and no way does that build any kind of harmony.. It’s got way beyond healthy competition to almost pot luck.

  12. saltires en sevilla on

So not read back; can just imagine the tidal wave still growing…

We held on for a point with 10 men

We should have done better from

What I saw on ctv – it wasn’t pretty.

Our top striker missed a penalty that would have won the game.

Few opportunities created, football was boring and we should be farther ahead of Dons. ( we need ten men to win games – most of the time)

What was Big D doing diving in like that when the players have been told to stay goalside and stay in the park for 90 minutes ( yes I know all about Hun refs – they are not a new thing!!)

Let me have a guess at what joys of observation and venting made it’s way to the blog – I have decided stay away during games and immediately after. Life is too short…

    Subtext :

Why are so many of our folk terrified that the reincarnation team might give us a game, or worse, pap us out the cup! Who really gives a flying fek about thems!?

That we cannot dominate thems if they survive long enough to gain promotion!

Does that cover it, have I just saved a few hours scrolling back? :-)

To be clear, I have not a minute’s time for the current board and the way they stockpile midfield and frontmen that are not Celtic standard – how our youth teams are ignored and have a restricted path to the top team! KT is an hounorable exception – the exception that proves the rule?

However, the open season on the manager , despite his failings, leaves me cold! He is the only manager we have and survives at the top of the table despite his team getting ripped apart by his bosses every season.

Europe ha! The guy is scuttled below the waterline by his own Bosses and then casually bombarded by his own supporters.

Who would we get to replace him and if they actually come, would we be guaranteed the CL qualification we all crave?

The guys in position including the scapegoat players , need our support ( even if you think they don’t deserve it…especially, if you think they don’t deserve it !) they are all we have now to get the job done, there is nothing to be gained by booing the team or abusing individual players at games. It is unlikely to inspire them to improve!!

The change that is needed is structural at ‘ownership level ‘ . That change should be driven in the close season. Not now!

Support these guys until the 5 is safely stowed away in April.

Forget about Europe for the time being, any team building is founded on sand. Neither form or function will matter in the long term until we have a board dedicated to building a club with a team that meets our fundamental principles of what Celtuc is about.

Try to stop worrying about the undead!

    Amen!

    Ronny must go

  13. Cowie

The defence is a problem due to the fact the midfield does not give it any protection.

The midfield is a problem as we have only 2 players in their trying to cover 4 or 5 opposition players, lock down the space, cover the defence then launch an attack.

The wingers we have dont help as they are not defensively minded and they do not help the midfield 2 lock down the midfield and win their battles.

Brown had a stinker last night and looked well short of fitness and stamina. Johansen run about as he does but is only one man.

The game is predominantly played in the midlfield third and we seem to give this area over to the numbers the opposition play in their (generally play against a 5 man midfield).

Its been said in here for years but we need to win the midfield to win the games….

    Clunks,

Players making bad decisions has nothing to do with luck, Ronny’s problem is he confirmed that he could improve the decision making of the players and hasn’t, that’s no bad luck that’s overestimating your abilities, another bad decision.

Can I add one thing….. The Hamilton striker was offside, not by much, maybe a fraction but offside is offside…..letter of the law, in theses days there is no such thing as give the striker the benefit of the doubt if that was Leigh would the Hamilton centre half be put in the same position as Dedryeck ?

Anyway it’s gone, another game ticked off on the way to 5@row…..

  17. ‘BLAME ME,’ SAYS GRIFFITHS…

I posted yesterday evening before the new post went up, that I was in seeing Tommy Gemmell yesterday. He got his Sky installed yesterday and we’ve supplied him with a new laptop. He gets broadband next week and has also got BT Sports. He can watch Celtic TV too but I need advice on how to get the pictures from Celtic TV onto the television?

Tommy wanted me to pass on his thanks to everyone on CQN.

He was looking great and was on top form – the wee rest seems to have worked.

  18. I think Hamilton should have had 3 players sent off. Gordon already booked then gave pen away, McLaughlin given a yellow when should have been a red then committed another bad tackle, still no red. Imrie for persistent fouling, should have been booked and then was finally booked at the end, also should have been booked for being an ugly wee hun.

Ronny. Always defend your players in public, criticism is for the changing room.

Celtic were poor last night but, in my opinion, would have done enough to win, if the ref hadn’t decided, once again, to interpret the rules differently for both teams.

Right as Kev would aff oot.

  19. foghorn leghorn on

    re the penalty

not for the first time there are celtic fans who seem almost triumphant that they have found an angle of the penalty that could justify the HWAWs decision

as celtic fans, surely the question they should be asking is how come when there’s a marginal ‘clear and obvious goalscoring chance’ decision to be made that it virtually always goes against our defender with the red card getting produced at the speed of light?

surely with decisions so marginal you would expect an almost even split that go for and against you

Brilliant stuff with Tommy Gemmel…… I missed the CQN stuff, but well done to all who done their bit

and as for the atmosphere last night?

i couldnt tell you if it was good

not for the first time this season i was so close to the drum that you couldnt hear any atmosphere

no-one around me was singing because you wouldnt be able to hear yourself or anyone else sing so it would be pointless

i imagine if you were sitting in the main stand the atmosphere would have been good

    ban the drummer

    bah humbug

    WC,

In case your no sure what an HDMI is

    http://www.tesco.com/direct/technology-gaming/hdmi-cable/cat3372490.cat

If there is one on the laptop and the telly then plug in both ends.

On the telly remote there is a “source” or “input” button, press and a window will open on the screen.

Highlight the hdmi source by using the arrow up or down on the remote and press ok.

You might have to configure the laptop but for now if you find out about the above for starters there will be plenty of help when the time comes.

Good luck and glad to hear Tommy is doing well

  24. I’m a very worried Celtic supporter this morning ,I do not think that under Rd we have what it will take to win this league his statement to the bbc about the sending off has given certainty to dubious call which was offside anyway I don’t think we have anyone internally to take over,I agree that this experiment has failed on the pitch and many millions wasted.

The lad who scored for hamilton was at Celtic

  28. I went to bed last night not in the best of spirits. Football matches shouldn’t get to me so seriously, I know. But, while I am a fair bit better now, I am still seething. In part, I suppose because we dropped 2 points. But, more than that, more even than the MiB’s dismal performance, it was the sight of the HA players deliberately hacking our players, especially young Tierney, aware that they could do it and get away with it. If any of our players tried that they would be off (and rightly so).

The football authorities are doing their level best to beat us and it will reach new depths next season when the deid team turns up.

Young lads are not going to join us, if they know they are to get no protection.

That thug, McKinnon, could have finished young Tierney’s season , if not career, with that “tackle”. It was awful and, worse, quite deliberate. Sickening.
