It was offside conveniently overlooked and rationalised by Scott McDonald as being “a touch offside” then followed up with the ball did not change direction so it was a sending off.

RD said he saw it once in replay and it was a sending off, he has been hasty and I do not know the angle he saw it from , Boyata got the ball played it against the sole of the attackers boot and it it broke straight to goalkeeper.

RD has previous with videos as he said prior to the second game against Molde he did not need to watch a video of the first game as he didn’t need to, arrogant complacent which is why we are not improving, coupled to the one system of playing.

Read your post there, then looked at the league standings, yup were at the top, amazing eh? Everyone sees the game different I suppose, that’s why opinions differ.like mine does with yours on that post, it’s allowed.

  3. SANDMAN on 27TH FEBRUARY 2016 2:57 AM

Some lame and pathetic defence of Ronny Deila being thrown up tonight.

Much in the same manner he threw Boyata under the bus with his post-match bollocks.

Boyata’s tackle was just that – a TACKLE. And a peach of a tackle, too. Sliding in from the side (so as not to be ‘going through’ the man from the back) and nicking the ball beyond the striker and back to Bailly with his studs.

    Perfectly timed. Perfectly executed.

Perfectly MIBberied by that wanker Thompson – just re-watch the speed with which he pulled the red; no deliberation, no consultation – just a f###ing HUN taking his chance fast as he could to can a Tim.

Half-time – he sees it on changing-room TV, loses his bottle and gives us the wrestled pen second half to make-up.

Ronny Deila has lost the dressing room. Any player hearing his collaboration with the Hun media post-match will be demoralised. A squad now riddled with confusion and doubt, belief in their ‘leader’ evaporating.

About time the failed experiment was called off and some professionalism restored. Our pool of players does have talent and no little promise in flashes, but there’s no figurehead to crack the whip, deploy successful tactics and elicit the discipline required for consistent improvement and development into a CL-capable side.

But don’t let the above harsh truth put off RD’s cheerleaders; I’m sure there’s some tenuous butbutbuttery that can be thrown in alongside blind faith to justify another 6 shambolic months at the helm…

    =======

If we are to make a case against RD why not offer him a fair hearing in which we don’t make anything up?

You don’t know what took place at half time.

You don’t know if RD saw the incident on TV

You don’t know what view of the incident he saw

(I had to do several runs of the video before I could spot the frames that showed Boyata got a touch.)

Unless you were there that looks a lot more than the harsh truth of the picture in your head.

I get it that RD is not everyone’s idea of a manager I even wonder myself at times if he knows what he is about but without knowing his reasons for selections I suspend judgement until I do.

Whether he is the right man for the job or not I find the hounding of the man after going out of the cup with ten men then drawing – not losing -drawing, with 10 men very distasetful.

He appears to be given no quarter now and reaction like yours with made up crap that if not challenged becomes a harsh “truth” to hit him with is doing neither you, nor RD nor Celtic any good.

Quite the reverse so we should be careful what we create when we make things up.

I’m undecided on RD for next season but he has the rest of this season to sway me but if he goes I’d prefer he left feeling he had had a fair crack of the whip rather than hounded out by “harsh truths.”

    Battered Bunnet 11:10

Spot on. One of the full-backs should be back if the other one is attacking. More so when you don’t have a defensive DM.

  5. TBB at 11.10am

Nice comment, and one which the fans of a team who wants to win the league should be focusing on.

    Who is at fault?

The manager for asking players to remain in their position, zonal marking extended to all areas of the pitch?

The defence collectively for lack of communication?

    Individual egos?

    Individual players for shirking responsibility?

The coaching for poor fitness, poor systems analysis, poor communication?

All of these things? None of them?

  6. TBB

Excellent summary , and better than the same one I posted earlier this morning

Plus, as pointed out by Clunks, a missing midfield not helping the cause

You have also just highlighted why we probably loose 50% of the goals we do

    Hail Hail

  7. Dessybhoy

Aye, the offside has been forgotten about.

Bottom line is for me anyways, he has lost the majority of the support, and when that happens we all know the outcome.

And the signs are there that he has lost the dressing room.

I don’t think it’s coincidence that our best player week in week out is young KT, he gives 100%, the rest don’t for me.

    TD

There’s nothing to disagree with in my comment. It’s an accurate observation of the position our defenders adopt, and which leads to one or more chances for the oppostion in virtually every match we play in.

It is clearly the shape the manager instructs the players to take. Any disagreement should be focussed on whether that’s a good shape.

  9. Off topic.

If anyone who’s coming over to Dublin at Easter wants a ticket for the ROI v Switzerland game on Good Friday can you let me know at dublin2016@mail.com.

    The tickets are 25 euro.

I have to confirm the numbers early next week.

    Thanks in advance.

    HT

Sutton stated at the time it was a good tackle as boyata played the ball and the commentator agreed

At half time Craigan and McDonald said although boyata played the ball It didn’t deviate the path of the ball therefore it’s a foul. … ridiculous new rule

I didn’t see deilas interview but been assured he slated boyata …. and no mention of the fact Gordon was on a yellow when he was spoken to at the corner and warned to stop holding lustig then did it in play and was not booked and sent off although a pen was awarded . He didn’t mention the shocking tackle by mckinnon that could have ruined another young Scottish players career or the high tackle from the same player a few minutes later. And he also didn’t mention the consistent fouls from imrie that never got him a card ( yellow for dissent at the end of the match only)

Getting totally sick of this. .. deilas selections .. tactics and use of subs is worse than terrible and if he’s gonna play Mr nice guy to the media too then my support for him will be minimal

Completely agree, those players are not giving their all or anywhere near it

How do the fans then show their displeasure ?

Hope the meeting goes well. On the road to Dingwall wi 3 Bayern Munich fans I met at the match last night, for my Godson’s senior debut for Ross County. I am as nervous as a kitten. Hope Chris is less nervous.

Thanks again for last nights ticket pal.

Cheers, yip, we’ve been playing in this shape all season, and conceding chances accordingly.

The most obvious was Molde away. 10 minutes into the game, Boyata steps forward into midfield to take the square pass to Bitton. At that moment, Lustig is doubled up with Commons on the right, Johansen is doubled up with Giffiths in the centre, and Izaguirre is doubled up with Armstring in the left. All six players are on the attacing line across the pitch.

Brown is ahead and left of Bitton as Boyata misses the pass to Lustig.

Ambrose is the sole Celtic player behind the ball.

Molde pick up 25 yards inside their own half, run into the space, one pass, goal.

But we see it in virtually every game. As I say, tiresome.

  15. 67 European Cup Winners on

I have not read back so forgive me If I am repeating whats been said

But the whole affair last night was a joke

    Boyata sending off

After various replays from different angles it loos like the Hamilton Player is off and it looks like Boyata got a slight touch – even after replays difficult to tell – so how does the ref make a decision when its nearly impossible to tell after a replay on the telly Also the 2 BT idiots – if Boyata gets a touch the fact that he then catches the player is irrelevant MORE our Manager says “stay on your feet” easy to say Ronny especially when you are wrong Boyata should not have been sent off – his Manager (our manager) should support him

The second penalty – in fairness to Thompson (never thought I would say that) he gives a correct decision – BUT the ball entered the net (not sure who scored) but he should have awarded a goal

BUT get used to this – all the way to the end of the season refs, SPL, media all want Aberdeen to win the league – so anything to make Celtic nervous angry frustrated is a good thing for them – its going to be a roller coaster

    And sheep will win today

  18. 67 European Cup Winners on

Mate of mine last night (Fulham supporter) watches a few games with me says ” Do Celtic ever play any other system than 1 up front ??” Me “no never” he says so if celtic sign Messin Neymas and Suarez 2 of them would be on the bench ???

Made me laugh because because I think he is right

    67ECW

  19. I read somewhere that Ronny’s Celtic have in 41 games where a goal was needed in the last 5 minutes, scored 3 times.

  20. On 30/7/14 (Legia Warsaw 4 Celtic 1) we lined up with Adam Matthews right and Mikel Lustig left and the two players that should have been sandwiched in between Van Dijk and Ambrose were playing as two individuals separated in the Celtic half.

Any combination of Celtic players in a so called back four in ‘the high pressing game’ becomes a back two the minute the other side knocks any ball, at any time, out of defence and into the Celtic half.

It’s a simple game, the only time we have a back four is when we’re defending set pieces and corners, and we know how good we are at that.

  21. Auldheid,

I respect your defence of RD especially with your resilience and determination regarding the resolutions.

However our manager threw Boyata under the bus. It doesn’t matter if he never seen it again or 100 times. Thomson has screwed Celtic many times incl the recent LC semi where he sent off Efe for an accidental collision.

Our manager is useless. He has lost the support and probably the entire dressing room after his cowardly lack of support for Boyata.

    He needs to be sacked.

Of course he is not the problem. He was looked at as a No 2 until Lawwell seen a cheap option to help secure the Bonus.

RD is a coward and must be sacked ASAP.

  22. The battered Bunnett

As I said your opinion, mine is the HA player was offside, the rest is irrelevant, all ifs and buts, offside is offside, the Celtic back four playing a high line and playing the H A offside was let go by the official, that’s my accurate observation of what happened, as I said different from yours, and it’s allowed.

  23. LP

I usually take us to get it out the way but after the 8-1 and P67 pointing out the St Mirren cup defeat after they got horsesd, I had q wee feeling about last night, actually mentioned to Dallas Dallas about Celtic & the LMS jinx during the week, by the way I will be joining the 14 from last night after Norwich get a shock win/draw against Leicester today

  24. LUCKY CODY BETS

To make statements like that to any human being I’m afraid makes you the coward, go crawl back under the rock you came from, that’s the CFC manager your talking about, ya knuckle draggers.

  25. coolmore mafia

    We are Celtic-less.

That’s the way I see it anyway. Less fight, less heart and above all leaderLESS.

Last night Deila’s post match comments left me stunned.

When we go behind I have little confidence we will recover. Nor can I recall a Celtic team that is so heartless.

Only the kid Tierney and Sviatchenko look like they are giving 100% just now.

That obvious disparity in effort is glaring, why are our players not providing the passion required ?

  26. I would think if your team is top of the league you would only be to willing that the team in second place losses points? I’m missing something here right? We want the to get more points than us and win the league? Right? Seriously?

  27. The Battered Bunnet on

    TD

The Accies player was offside. Well observed.

However, Celtic do not play a ‘high line’. There isn’t a line. There’s a single defender. The shape of the Celtic defenders, if you were to draw a dot-to-dot, resembles a sea gull with half a wing missing.

Come to mind, it’s about as effective.

The key observation is that this is not an isolated incident. It’s a recurring practice. It happens in virtually every game, and in virtually every game, leads to the team conceding chances to the opposition through a single misplaced pass.

  28. TD 67,

Not got time to go through the Report in detail at the moment.

However the key point (as always) is Duty of Care! Proof of negligence and the ability to demonstrate that the defendant was responsible for the consequences.

The rugby ‘collapsed scrum’ is a bit of a red herring in that it led to changes in Rugby Union Rules to cover future eventualities. From what I remember it was primarily aimed at protecting; children, youths and non-professionals – size and weight of the packs (unequal advantage), binding and better refereeing (standards) of the front rows to prevent them; dipping or twisting their bodies in order to collapse the scrum. Today any infringement results in a penalty to the opposition.

Unfortunately current H&S Legislation deems anyone who organises a sports event as an employer. From a quick scan of the Report – I think this is its target audience.

Will get back to you when I go through it in more detail.
