  1. Given that so many have misgivings about player recruitment. Isn’t it fair to question the recruitment of the coaching staff?

Especially when the Manager appears to fall into the category of ‘project’.

His comments tonight remind of the ‘frightened and scared’ comments after the Malmo game, which was last August.

I really don’t think that Ronny seems to be progressing in the job.

    Unfortunately.

When a defender rugby tackles a player to the ground, having just be warned about holding, I don’t think you can say it is “soft”, it was also a booking and therefore a red card. Using the Juventus game, where the vast majority thought that was also a definite pen and the referee got it wrong doesn’t justify a reason on this occasion not being a pen. Nice talking to you.

I think Yogi at ICT may be the next Celtic Emperor. I would welcome him with open arms.

    Auldheid,

    It wasn’t a foul PERIOD….

A Manager is annoyed cos one of his defenders dared to attempt a tackle?…..

Well, you might be right, check our last few tackles and and the consequences, EFE started it…..

    ==============

I agree it wasn’t a sending off offence (and the offside was missed too) but I can see why Thomson was able to see it as a foul and so justify a sending off.

He did not have the same angle or time in which to make up his mind but as you say he has previous on quick ordering offs with Effe.

So my guess is an instruction not to dive in and it wasn’t heeded, hence anger at Boyota rather then referee.

RD can do something about Boyota but not the ref. I would not be surprised if he amplifies his comments having seen the pictures.

It will go on the lines of ‘ it wasn’t a foul but I can see why referee thought it was and we gave him a decision to make that we should not have and (if its true) the players have instructions to run with their opponent but not tackle in such situations. We may lose a goal but our record of winning with 11 men is much better than winning with 10.’

I was annoyed at Sviachenko the minute he made the forward pass to a player facing him with an opponent within tackling distance. That pass resulted in a lost ball with both Sviachenko and Boyota out of position and having to run back.

We lose the ball to passes like that every game and some games it proves more costly than others but I’d prefer my midfield play the forward pass to a forward so that if its intercepted there is at least one line of defence facing the attacking team

  5. Big Peat of Islay on

The questions is though… If Thompson couldn’t see it properly, why does he send him off?

  6. Some lame and pathetic defence of Ronny Deila being thrown up tonight.

Much in the same manner he threw Boyata under the bus with his post-match bollocks.

Boyata’s tackle was just that – a TACKLE. And a peach of a tackle, too. Sliding in from the side (so as not to be ‘going through’ the man from the back) and nicking the ball beyond the striker and back to Bailly with his studs.

    Perfectly timed. Perfectly executed.

Perfectly MIBberied by that wanker Thompson – just re-watch the speed with which he pulled the red; no deliberation, no consultation – just a f###ing HUN taking his chance fast as he could to can a Tim.

Half-time – he sees it on changing-room TV, loses his bottle and gives us the wrestled pen second half to make-up.

Ronny Deila has lost the dressing room. Any player hearing his collaboration with the Hun media post-match will be demoralised. A squad now riddled with confusion and doubt, belief in their ‘leader’ evaporating.

About time the failed experiment was called off and some professionalism restored. Our pool of players does have talent and no little promise in flashes, but there’s no figurehead to crack the whip, deploy successful tactics and elicit the discipline required for consistent improvement and development into a CL-capable side.

But don’t let the above harsh truth put off RD’s cheerleaders; I’m sure there’s some tenuous butbutbuttery that can be thrown in alongside blind faith to justify another 6 shambolic months at the helm…

  7. archdeaconsbench on

    Big Peat…..

    Linesman/earpiece

I’m not greatly fussed about the sending off, I can see why/we’ve had a lot worse decisions etc… That’s not why we didn’t win tonight. And I’m infinitely mair pissed aff at our complete absence of resolve or resilience and watching a collection of half decent players aw running about like stolen motors, played out of position etc…

It’s got to the stage Scott Allen’s thinking, why sign Ryan Christie. Thought I was next?

Ryan Christies thinking the same about Patrick Roberts.

Patrick Roberts thinking the same about Kistoffer Ajer….

Meanwhile, Armstrong and GMS are dying a death….

From top to bottom it’s a complete shambles and a waste. And any Celtic fan who takes issue with that thought is literally ten times more of a threat than Sevco should ever be…

    Fact.

  8. The SMSM have done their job, I can’t believe so many so called Celtic have gave been led by the nose to attack Ronny. A lot of fans need to have a look at themselves. Last night was not down to Ronny. I can think of a lot more reasons for the draw than Ronny’s management.

Faithful through and through, you are having a laugh.

  9. I thought at the time it was a foul.

The replay from behind the goal made it look like DB had missed the ball.

Auldheid’s GIF is not 100% convincing either.

Whatever interpretation you make. There’s a case for each.

What is undeniable is that the forward was offside.

What is also undeniable is that the referee couldn’t make an unequivocal decision on the tackle and his assistant was of no assistance.

Given the doubt and his view, the swift production of the red card was indicative of a predisposition to ensure we were given a massive handicap.

However, we should have comfortably put the game beyond Accies with the obvious chances we had early in the second half.

The equalizer reminded me of the difficulty we used to have in the school playground controlling a lively mitre in a crowded kick about,

  10. Questions for the Irish political experts.

With the polling data showing the spread of votes cast, how will the peculiar single transferable vote effect the eventual number of seats for each party?

And how does it work in practice?

And finally, whose tortured mind came up with the voting system?

  11. archdeaconsbench on

    Cragleabhoy…..

You honestly think those of us who don’t think Ronny is the answer, are being led by the media?

All joking aside, are you a hun at the wind up sitting with yr mates goin ‘Watch this!!!’ Tbh that would make more sense….

  12. archdeaconsbench on

    GG….

  13. Archdeacon stench

I’m not joking, Ronny has been getting it in the neck for a long while. Fans are turning in the wind, last week lots were begining to believe in the team and the experiment.

The manager has been given a contract, we should allow him to see it out and judge at the end.

Irony is, anything else is hunlike. You expect a divine right to win.

  14. Cragleabhoy,

Answer me this one simple question, Chris Commons who has not played in several weeks and who I have long been a fan of, straight back into the team when Christie could have been tried in there along with Brown, what’s the thought process behind that decision? We have a continuing headless chicken approach to team selection, add to that, whether Boyata deserved to be sent off or not, you don’t go bagging your own players post-match unless they’ve really screwed up big time. Can you imagine the reaction of a Stein or a Ferguson after tonight’s game. The poor reporters would have been running for cover if they had dared to ask any stupid questions.

The team and more importantly, the club are going nowhere at this present moment in time.

  15. Big Peat of Islay on

I hate to say this, but the cheating hun scumbags that defrauded Scottish Football had one thing going for them under Butcher, Gazza etc: they had team spirit – ok it was of the putrid kind and they were on the wrong side, but they fought together, got pished together, and played together; they gelled.

We have a flowerbed full of pansies with a gardener in charge.

  16. ballymenatoybhoy on

Ronnie must be loving all the posts slamming the officials – helps to reduce the heat off him and great because despite increasing urges not to I still support Ronny. What we should be focusing on before, after, during each game is the team PERFORMANCE – officials are not going away and anyway with celtics superior wealth/infastructure advantage we should be able to give every team a goal up and still cruise past the line. This constant moaning and groaning about the MIB is so unhealthy – what Celtic need is a HUGE kick up the arse and Team selection is one of the obvious problems and also increasingly it would appear coaching content/style/tactics (as I have already pointed out in a post some days ago). Simply the team Ronny fields is not doing it – watching the recent Ross Count game was hard on the eye and agains ICT we got out of jail – CL? you gotta be kiddin! SPL champions? that will be well a well laboured result if it transpires! I mean if you changed the kit colours could you actually tell the difference between Aberdeen, ICT or Celtic – yes and you could maybe add another couple of teams to that! Ronny now has no choice but to go bench a few of the “regulars” and get SA, RC & PR blended into the team – Henderson needs a recall in the summer and CG also looks like he needed last nights “rest”. Oh and by the way if Accies had got OUR penalty last night (the second one) – for the horse-play in the box what would we have said? Good call by the ref? Don’t think so!

  17. Antipodeanred

Simple, if Christie had played and let’s hypothesise same result. You would gave a different group shouting headless chicken with strategy. unless Ronny is to tell everyone the reason for every change, and even then, some will be unhappy. let’s get behind the team and manager. Otherwise why not go an support some other team who does your will.

    Any other tough questions?

  18. Antipodean Red.

Ps. I think we will win the double, is that nowhere or are you another of those wo will downgrade this because the Huns are missing. Think about it.

  19. Antipodean Red, do you know what the back four instructions were before they took the field. I don’t but it is not unreasonable to expect it to include don’t dive in rashly. I don’t think it was a foul, but I’ve seen less given.

Hence, I dont blame Ronny, there are more in front of him to blame.

You know it and I know it.

  20. Big Peat of Islay on

I think those that want to go down with Ronnie in a blaze of glory like Spartans at the hot gates, is absolutely fine.

However, let the folk with common sense, bring the others to see the folly of the equivalent of footballing suicide. We are killing the club with Deila as leader but in only a few more defeats he will get chopped. It is then that we must turn our sights on Lawwell.

  21. ArchdeaconsBench. Sorry about the stench, predictive text.

Thank you for the welcome of are you a Hun. I’ve only posted a few times before, but never had the traditional welcome.

RD an experiment which has failed miserably. He has not delivered on anything he spoke of. Ludicrous signings, tactics and substitutions. No fight or backbone to the team, praises bottlers and hangs others out to dry. Can’t see the players going the extra mile for the manager when he won’t stand up for them, be lucky to see some of them even do a hundred yards for him. He should say “no comment” or do a Wenger “I never saw it”. We are in reverse gear and going nowhere too. Time for him to go asap or CP will be empty next year, he has definitely lost support after last night’s display and comments.

  24. Good morning friends from a clear skied, frost and wind free, dry and bright looking East Kilbride.

Thought our performance last night was ‘okay’ – nothing more – but several perplexing refereeing decisions along with a faliure to take 2 gilt edged second half chances is the reason we are ‘only’ 7 point clear. Luckilly our players all finished the game without serious injury after some pretty agricultural and repeated challenges by the team in the hoops.

  25. Big Peat of Islay on

Team Ronnie will do anything to write-off last night’s FAILURE.

It was the ref, No, it was the MSM, No, it was the pitch, No it was Mo Johnston’s dug.

    How about… It was Ronnie?

  26. Canamalar it looks like OCD obsession on

    Got to laugh at the convoluted contortionists getting themselves all bitter and twisted trying to defend their opinion as the only reasonable way to go, a couple of favourites are;

Get being the team then go on to select a whipping bhoy from the team and blame him for loosing.

We can’t sack the manager between transfer windows but were happy to see the back of Mowbery.

The ref was not to blame but he made loads of terrible decisions.

It’s an entertainment business, people buy tickets to be entertained it’s the players job to entertain if they don’t then those who buy tickets have every right to let the entertainers know they are not happy with the fare, and no one has the right to criticise them for that, only a moron would try and defend that, problem is we have too many morons who think they are better customers because they demand everyone else conforms to their retarded notions.

This is the ideal time to change management, give him a chance to come in make his changes and see for himself who he rates and who he doesn’t and what he thinks it will take to qualify for the CL, only problem is who will accept the remit, no manager worth their salt would accept conditions that hamstring their control of the football team and budget.

It’s the referees job to influence games that is exactly why they are there, if you underestimate the power of the ref then football is a trapezes act for you find another sport.
