Every time I see Julien’s goal it gets better . A top strikers finish . However , RON is right to criticise some of Julien’s defending today . He let the Hamilton scorer get in front of him for their goal and struggled to cope with him much as he did with the big Livvy striker.

LAZIO up to second. 5 points behind Juve with a game in hand.

So another team have a game in hand

    ?

    Remember them?

Did you enjoy Juliennes finish to go 1-2 up… a very important goal

of course , why wouldn’t I , I commented on how good a goal it was at the time during the game, but much rather see them both excel at what they are paid for, defending our goal.

  4. Glendaly .. every Celt should be criticised but surely not continuously or if so praise when due …

Big Julienne is now on 7 or 8 and a cup final winning goal and a few with his feet ,.. an all for criticism but equally praise when it’s due :-)

By the way am criticising nobody am just happy with this Celtic team

  5. Ron67

    Apologies

I don’t read the updates I just read the reactions … and you have been a bit on Juliennes back …

Anyhow 7pts clear n counting .. I don’t think the big man is a bad defender … but with this Celtic team the defence get zero protection … i think that’s what we as fans/supporters want … 🍀

  6. Defend our goal ??

Give me 4-1 victories every game

    … the cry was ….

    No Defenders

  7. I think Julien is a good player, he now has 6 goals to his credit, arguably his goal today was the winner.

Had it not gone in, Accies could well have held on but once we scored they crumbled.

Having said that neither he or Ajer instilled confidence today. The pitch was a factor but they also allowed themselves to be bullied and that is not acceptable.

Finding it almost impossible to pick my top 3 this week, Eddie obviously but after that I’m struggling.

Brown, Welsh, Forrest & Hayes are the names in my mind but it;s a case of eeney meeney miney mo, between the 4 of them.

  8. Julienne is getting used to Scottish fitba in the last two decades he probably played a different sport …

I think he is a guid yin 👍

The 7-point lead we have, although welcome, is very fragile. Consider losing to Motherwell and then Sevco winning on Wednesday then the gap is essentially 1-point given their game in hand against inept St.Johnstone. On this topic, I was pleased to see Lennon play down our 7 -point advantage and that is so important as gloating from players or fans will cause us to ease up and get complacent. On the other hand, the next team between us and Sevco to falter could be a fatal error. So if Sevco falter next before their game in hand and we do not then they will be either 9-points or 10-points behind and that might be getting towards being hard to recover. Sevco know this and boy are the hanging by a thread and under big pressure. Their players look like they have throttled themselves just to keep up with us in the first half of season, and now they all look so sluggish. We look refreshed and hungry.

  10. Ron your anti Julien campaign is amusing, I reckon it’s my fault. I started ribbing you at your pigs in a poke remark & ever since you are slagging both Boli & Julien at every opportunity.

I agree he didn’t play well today but that is true of quite a few of the team. Generally he has done very well for us, scored some vital goals and is well up in Jobo’s Competition.

Anyhow enjoy the win & forget about your vendetta.

  11. Against Lazio home & away big Julienne was terrific … against Serie As best .. but when Lyndon Dykes gets a free hit who knows

Hope you enjoyed Costa Adeje … you had better luck than this jinx … Hearts & Athens I watched in the Irish Rover .. Tenerife is now in the banned list :-)

Young Stephen Welsh can be very happy with a very solid debut. Nice one young man.😀

agree , he did not look out of place playing in the back 3 , he was well looked after with the other 2

  14. GFTB. I did indeed enjoy it. There were 2 Celtic Games on while I was there, 2 wins both watched in The Irish Fiddler, Was in the Rover after one of the games and a good few Hoops to be seen in there.

Also think that Hearts and Aberdeen deployed in your face rough-house tactics against the Sevco. Both of these results highlight an unpleasant truth about the Sevco team in that this is not an especially physical team of 6’4 brutal footballers, actually quite the reverse. Sevco are don’t really seem an overly physical side to me with Kent, kamara, Barasic, Davis, Tavernier, Barker, BArfield et al. Even their tall players like Goldson and Barasic aren’t especially physical or aggressive. Dare I say it they are more in the passing football mould of McCallister and Gerrard by sharp contrast to the more physical teams of Souness, Smith and Advocaat. Only Jack seems like a more physical type and they actually struggle without him. Against us, they actually just pressed us relentlessly off the ball instead of being physical on the ball. I do think the other SPFL teams have sussed this a bit so let’s hope we see more of them take the rough house approach in the coming weeks, as they are struggling against any physicality.

  16. Griffiths was lucky to avoid a red card today. I agree with Michael Stewarts take on the matter, i thought Griff could have got out of the way and it was at best a strong yellow. It was an incredibly stupid thing to do just 13 minutes into the match given the advantage we had gained yesterday. Had Morelos done the same thing we would have eviscerated him. Griff also imo dived in the second half and was lucky to avoid a second yellow.

The are some moon-howling huns for sure with outlandish theories. But there is some truth in the idea that referees are scared of Celtic and the scrutiny they will face if they give something that is borderline against us. If Nick Walsh had an agenda against us Griffiths could easily have been sent off and the red card for Hamilton could have been given as a yellow or even worse ignored.

“But there is some truth in the idea that referees are scared of Celtic…..”

Oh my days, has your account been hacked? That’s bonkers.

  18. Corkcelt …

We stayed up the (very) big hill from the Irish Rover .. Laguna Park 2… probably he nicest apartments in all our times abroad .. Miss GFTB actually said the other week dad tell that man in CQN to go to the Irish Rover because you loved it …. me & her mum actually liked the food and the place was spotless …. a Celtic fan & a Sevco fan behind the bar who were terrfic and looked after my daughter … wee things like that go a long way

  19. David17

It is impossible to tell whether Griffiths meant it or not, I actually don’t think he did

Griffith’s reaction to the Hamilton players surrounding him suggests to me that they were accusing him of something he didnt do, and that’s why he got angry

Saying that, I was absolutely sh*tin myself that the ref was going to produce a red especially after what happened when Christie got sent off against Livi

  20. We were a couple of miles away from San Eugenia. No problem by day just a nice walk down the Prom but at night it was a Taxi to & fro. My sister in law & her husband were staying in San Eugenia & we hung out with them. A good craic & decent weather, sunny but not too hot, which is the way I like it.

  21. DAVID17 on 2ND FEBRUARY 2020 9:47 PM

If more or less done that it would not be discussed on television or radio. It was not even a stamp. Its never a red card where exactly is griff meant to plant his foot? he is trying to avoid hurting the boy on the ground while trying to prevent himself from being hurt too.

Happy with the win and now we go to motherwell. Hopefully we can pick up the 3 points there too. It will e another hard game.

Game against clyde might be good time to rest a couple of ever presents and give the polish paddy a run out as well.

  22. Tenerife is beautiful ….

But give me Coatbrig every day if every week

Some love the sun and some love working all year for a wee holiday ….(that’s my mob) ….. but the main thing is the champions are doing what the champions do… again the party wetters can soil whatever under garments they are wearing … this Celtic team keep collecting 3pts …. that’s just champion

  23. David 17 – “Thre are some moon-howling huns for sure with outlandish theories. But there is some truth in the idea that referees are scared of Celtic and the scrutiny they will face if they give something that is borderline against us.”

    _———–+–++-

Never mind moon-howling, you on the moonshine? Was he scared to red card the attempted assault on Calmac? If he caught him it would have been nasty.

The 3 subs worked well but this is because the 3 subbed had worked Hamilton until they went off. Hamilton were always gonna tire and the ‘correct’ subs from Neil worked well. Their big forward ran himself into the ground he was never gonna last 90. They were less effective when he went off.

A good weekend to be a Tim.

Over here in North America, a players injury location will be reported as an upper or lower body injury to stop opponents targeting the specific location. Playing in the SPL it would suggest why we’re not as open about our assets.

  28. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

We did what we had to do today , win and increase our goal difference with added bonus of seeing fat Sally’s true colours coming through.

He was absolutely Beelin about Griff today but he was no saint himself in his playing career.

He blindsided Hibs defender , Mark Fulton in the stramash that followed Souness’ assault on George McLuskey in 1986 ( the footage is on YouTube) , he broke a Theo Snelders jaw with a reckless sliding challenge on a sodden Pittodrie pitch then stood on Craig Levein’s knee when both landed off the pitch at game at Ibrox. He never received any punishment for any of the above .

It’s good to see him and Boydiechenko suffering so much. Don’t let the cheery cheek y happy facade fool you , he’s a horror.

    Super Bowl Sunday.

Oh and the resident of Gobbler’s Knob, Punxsutawney Phil has predicted an early spring.

If we keep this up Sevco will lose a few of their first team players to a mystery virus.
