    Hearts’ entire approach to that game should be seen as a national embarrassment – and would be anywhere other than Scotland.

     

     

    As for the violence – Craig Levein should have been taken to task immediately, months ago, when he spouted that outrageous line about “Scottish football needs protection from Scott Brown.”

     

     

    Since then it’s been open season on the captain – stamps, scissor tackles, over-the-ball legbreakers, tugs, elbows, trips, culminating in Naismith’s attempts yesterday to seriously injure him.

     

     

    Both he and James Forrest could have ended up in hospital yesterday.

     

     

    No wonder Brendan was riled. He is the most exciting and positive thing that has happened to Scottish football in years, yet the consensus in Scotland is that, for the ‘good for the Scoddish game’, Celtic should be dragged back into the hunnish, neanderthal realms of anti-football by any means, fair or foul.

     

     

    What a message to send out in 2018, and no wonder the game in Scotland is a laughing-stock.

     

     

    I hope Naismith gets a retrospective double red, but I also hope that later tonight Kylie Minogue softly taps my door clutching a bottle of Bolly and two glasses, and there’s more chance of that.

    Some of the comments from sevcoites when talking about playing Celtic especially the pundits.

     

    Forgive me but I always thought that you were to try and get the ball from your opponent, with minimum contact on the opposing players.

     

    That is what’s wrong with Scottish football, the get in aboot them attitude, the rest should be relying on skill and honest endeavour the way that Celtic play football.

    I was talking to Pedro the postie this morning, I have him watching all our games these days, he couldn’t believe the officiating, he reckoned that if a La Liga ref was doing the game, it would have been abandoned as they would have had less than eight on the park, he is slowly understanding that we are reffed differently than the other teams, that is coming from a Real fan so it shows how bad it is.
