  1. glendalystonsils ,hear what you say, just been discussing him with gftb on another blog, he is in agreement with you, just me being too harsh on the bhoy.hh.

  2. Noticed a couple of tactical differences tonight. We did not overplay from the back at all, Lustig was preferred as it gave us an out ball from Scott Bain. Hibs had no opportunities to build momentum. Also noticed at 1-0 we dropped into a shape. The 2nd goal came from the quick counter attack after pressing won the ball on the halfway line. Impressive Lenny.

To be honest wasn’t looking forward to this game but it turned out no bad at all?

    Well done us????????

To summarize the last 5 days then..

On Monday morning all was well.

We officially lose our management team on Tuesday morning but manage to have another team in place by Tuesday night.

We play an away game at arguably the most difficult ground for us on the Wednesday with 11 players out injured.

Win that game in the last minute against a physical team in front of a hostile crowd.

On Saturday, we play an away cup game against the brand new managers ex-team from 3 weeks ago, where some of their players (Kamberi) have a special reason for being motivated.

We win that game on a bog of a pitch playing mostly in driving rain by adapting our game to suit both.

Very happy to get both Edinburgh away games out of the way with victories in both. The unity within the squad & new management team was a beautiful thing to witness. We dug in in both games & refused to settle for anything less than victory.

Hat tipped to NFL for calling it correctly – “not about me or anyone else, it’s about the club.”

Lots of good performances this week, but arguably Neil Lennon’s is the pick of them all.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

  5. Good evening CQN from a happyclappy Garngad, Just in from the pub, wow.

Lennys Lions March on. What a week. ???

This is how it feels to be Celtic…

The players and staff have a wee rest now, no midweek game, Lenny can get on the training ground and work all week with the players.

Yaaaaaassss any lurking Huns or Lenny haters GIRFUY?

    D. :)

  6. That wasn’t a great performance, but couldn’t careless we got through so iam delighted, what I don’t get is supperters singlin out Sinclair this lands contributions to Celtic for a winger are second to none

  7. Terrible conditions, awful pitch away in the cup against a team who had won their last 4 games and we always looked comfortable

Nice to see us mixing play up a bit and moving players around, a bit of flexibility is good when things aren’t working

Our defense keeps looking secure, our midfield could move the ball a bit quicker at times but that’s a bit unfair on Bitton who hasn’t played for ages and has fitted in really well in two very tough games

Looking good for the run in, can’t wait to see the injured players back

Some changes to be implemented from next season.

Goals scored or created with the use of an accidental handball will not stand from next season onwards, the International FA Board (Ifab) have confirmed.

The changes mean that a free-kick will be awarded when a goal or clear chance occurs from a handball.

Ifab technical director David Elleray explained the changes at their AGM in Aberdeen.

“Deliberate handball remains an offence,” Elleray stressed.

“In the past we’ve managed to improve the laws by focusing on outcome rather than intent.

“What we are looking at particularly in attacking situations is where the player gets a clear unfair advantage by gaining possession or control of the ball, as a result of it making contact with their hand or arm.”

    So what has changed?

The changes mean gaining control or possession and then scoring as a consequence of handling the ball will not be allowed – neither will a goal scored directly from handling the ball, regardless of intent.

Another change to the laws of the game means that if the player’s arms extend beyond a “natural silhouette”, handball will be given, even if it is perceived as accidental.

Elleray says this is an effort to put an end to defenders placing their arms behind their backs in fear of giving away a free-kick.

“We’ve changed it to say the body has a certain silhouette,” said Elleray. “If the arms are extended beyond that silhouette then the body is being made unnaturally bigger, with the purpose of it being a bigger barrier to the opponent or the ball.

“Players should be allowed to have their arms by their side because it’s their natural silhouette.”

In other changes approved by Ifab, substitutes will have to leave the pitch at the nearest goalline or touchline instead of walking to their technical area in a bid to stop time wasting.

Additional approved law changes included measures to deal with attacking players causing problems in the defensive wall, giving a dropped ball in certain situations when the ball hits the referee and the goalkeeper only being required to have one foot on the line at a penalty kick.

    Night all

    Hail Hail

How a week that started like that can end like this is honestly utterly amazing to me.

Neil Lennon, John Kennedy, Scott Brown – heroes for what you did for us this week, when we needed leaders like seldom before.

The players – all of them – deserve a medal for coming through a week like that still together, and with 2 big, big wins in Edinburgh.

This is why I love Celtic.

Not when they jump up for a high ball .

    Even more contentious.

The solution . Any armball / hand ball is penalised .

  12. Macjay

That’s not a solution, would only make things worse , players would then deliberately target a players arm.

  13. A smiling Neil Lennon is a dagger in every one of the haters hearts

Like me & you he hates the Sevco too

See some bassas destroyed the crusader in St.Michan’s Almore? Fuggs ache.

  16. Stupid law change for the handball. Accidental is accidental. Why is ok for a defender to accidentally handle the ball thereby denying a goal / chance but not ok for that to happen when it leads to a goal?

  17. Deeeelighted for Neil.

The Celtic Legend is coming back when Celtic are in decent fettle.

His first 2 games have been massive and he has won them both in the most difficult of circumstances.

I gave up trying to watch the game on a stream and ended up digging out an olde MW radio to listen to the game. Great idea getting Premier Sports involved NOT.

2 absolutely sublime goals by a couple of auld players of Neils first foray into Management.

    Very Well Done Celtic.

    Probably they do already.

Clear , simple criterion. Touches arm or hand . Penalise.

A referee attempting to read a players mind as to whether the contact is intentional or otherwise is ludicrous and always has been.

The conditions were the winners, up until the 62nd.minute.

The swirling wind and rain and a leaden pitch made it very difficult to control a ball or play a long pass.

The will to change the shape before half time gave us the platform to totally dominate the second half.

Forrest as a roving number 10, was the most sure footed player on the park. but everyone of them gave it all they had and thoroughly deserved their upcoming week off.
