    celtic undefeated for 18 games.

but back to back 0-0 draws has the bedwetting ingrates of cqn slagging everyone from a title winning manager to the player of the year in waiting.

as someone else typed, it took 4 excellent saves from the hibs goalie to keep us out.

we will win the league next weekend, how anyone can mention another helicopter sunday is hysterical nonsense.

    celtic supporters my arse.

Or even worse emerald green tinted glasses wearing supporters who just ignore the fact that Jozo made a game saving challenge or that Bain pulled off a couple of decent saves and Hibs contrived not to score when it was easier to do so on a couple of occasions. Aye but only their keeper made any decent saves.

    Aye Celtic fans me arse

  3. no green tinted specs, i seen a hibs team give us a really good game. they are allowed to do that.

    result could have been worse.

it was nowhere near the worst performance we have had.

  4. David Gray is a good, solid pro. Excellent SPL level defender.

I’d have him behind Mika, on a par with Ralston and ahead of JT.

    HH jg

  5. Jozo and the Viking Prince are both looking excellent.

    That makes me happy.

    HH jg

  6. Sorry for the uncalled for snarky responses bhoys, far too much fine Spanish wine supped and annoyed at the performance today . We are all entitled to opinions just as much as I am entitled to see Paddy Roberts back in a Celtic Jersey. :-)

Nae bother the great óglach. Have some more

You can see how shrewd BR was in leaving when he did!

  8. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

Weekend results at the top all in line with expectations.

0-0 at Easter Road is OK.

Brendan’s team lost (and played even worse) there this season.

    9 up.

    4 to play.

Our nearest opponents have matches against four teams against whom, combined, they average ONE POINT per game.

    Hail hail

  9. I think our club need to bring in a good coach, forget about being a Celtic Supporter, time for a change,Jock Stein wasn’t brought up supporting Celtic, and look what he achieved, and quite frankly the team that Lenny put out today, weren’t up for up,and not for the first time either,Weah and Rogic should have been brought on earlier,And my wish is that for next season, big Changes needed at board room level,ie Desmond , Lawell, need to move on,no more loanees, spend the cash on Quality,if not then it’s time for changes.

  10. Oglach

I fear we are recalling the promise of Paddy Roberts in 2016/17 rather than the guy who never won his place back in 2017/18, following injury and James Forrest’s form in possession.

The Paddy Roberts of 2018/19 is in an even weaker position. Only 14 appearances for Girona, 12 in La Liga, and no goals scored or assists provided. 530 minutes played in total and his latest appearance was a rare starting place but he was subbed at half time.

I, too, would take him back as a punt and a prospect if Man City were to free him, say, but he is contracted to June 2020, according to Transfermarkt.

  11. listen ffs ,we pay players top dollar in the spl, against hibs hearts Aberdeen even the mob from govan, we should expect them to perform and earn their money unfortunately don’t see it at the moment.hh.

  12. i'vehadtochangemymind on

and we lost LG this year – what a wonderful play by the board to support someone suffering from mental illness. Compare the poxhorde reaction to moreredcards bangin them in against lossiemouth but supporting someone who assaults other players

  13. Take paddy over Johnny Hayes in a heartbeat – nothing against a good honest pro but sums up our decline in last 2 years . Burke or Weah a better bet.

  14. Neil Lennon imo set the team out not to lose this afternoon. The team structure was good and we made a better fist of it than the previous Manager had in December and last April. The full backs were not exposed and we dominated the match territory and possession. The prosaic reality is that the forward players did not deliver despite getting into good positions on numerous occasions. Some are off form and others perhaps not up the required standard. Neil Lennon cannot really be blamed for that.

Maybe Lenny was a touch selfish in not wanting to lose at his old ground or maybe being pragmatic in ensuring we do what is required to secure the Title. I don’t feel that Neil did much wrong today. As I have said before if you sell Moussa Dembele for £20m and replace him with Bayo who is not good enough for the reserve team then you will fall short of quality and drive away the best Manager in a long, long time. Some will say Lawwell bashing but at the end of the day you can only present the situation as it is. To say get rid of Lenny and replace him with another does not address the fundamental issue. In fact it may compound it further.

I would have Paddy back in the blink of an eye. Another season learning his trade in La Liga, albeit with very rare 1st team appearances. On form he added another much needed dimension to our attack – you know the old Celtic way actually trying to skin a player by running at them. Given our alleged contacts at Man City and hoping that Paddy wished to return ‘home’ i’d rather we spent 5 – 7 million off our bloated bank balance on Paddy rather than 2 unknown prospects of the Amido Balde type.

    Bayo is injured

    ———

He would be nowhere near the team of fit.

  17. Bada Bing

Yip, much better than Benkovic who hasn’t kicked a ball since he hobbled off at Debt Dome in December.

Blubbed about how he was taking the EPL by storm next season whilst injured at Celtic, cheerio Filipe don’t mind the sound of the door hitting your ar*e on the way out.

Jozo staying fit of course CSC

  18. Pop Quiz.

Celtic set to spend 7 – 10 £mill (Stop laughing) on a winger / attacker who should It be

    1 Ollie Burke

    2. Paddy Roberts.

ME – no contest – Paddy Roberts

  19. DAVID17 on 21ST APRIL 2019 5:10 PM

He would be nowhere near the team if fit.

    ———————————————————-

I wish I had a pound for every time I read a post like that.

You are of course entitled to your opinion but you’re burning a guy before he gets a chance. He is a Celtic player unlike some of the players mentioned on here who are apparently ‘world beaters.’

  20. OGLACH on 21ST APRIL 2019 5:14 PM

Neither. Roberts has bags of talent but lacks focus and physicality to be a top player. Burke is not worth that money.

Who said “we’ve got millions of wingers”?

    Maryan Shved CSC

    ===========

And yet we persist with playing how many? That is despite the sometimes indifferent form of the 1st picks. Don’t say much for the other 999, 998 wingers on our books does it!

  22. Typical, disappointing, end of season performance, but we live to fight another day. Thought the centre backs played well. HH

  23. POGMATHONYAHUN AKA LAIRD OF THE SMILES on 21ST APRIL 2019 5:18 PM

When he was fit Rodgers didn’t play Bayo because he didn’t sign him. It’s not so much about Bayo. I have no issue with him. What I’m saying is you cannot replace quality with a lesser standard and not expect to see a difference on the pitch and then express shock and surprise when the Manager walks out.

  24. Oglach

“Celtic set to spend 7 – 10 £mill (Stop laughing) on a winger / attacker who should It be

    2. Paddy Roberts.”

Neither winger- we have Forrest, Hayes, Johnston, Shved and Dembele already.

Unless Paddy comes back on a Bosman post-Xmas, as a 10, then I would get some competition for Edouard and Lustig , as the priority positions

  25. FRIESDORFER

Indeed they were, and a defensive point gained.

I think the post split fixtures are panning out as second class marathon games compared to a certain

one off must win game, in May.

I hope Neil gets the balance right and well remember Gordon Strachan’s side lose to Hearts at CP when the league was already won.

    Hmmm CSC

  26. Another dreary, woeful, labored 0-0, the third in the last 6 games. No imagination, leadership, energy or skill. Hayes or Toljan should have been at left back instead of an inept Izzy. Why leave a clearly underperforming Ntcham on for an hour? Is there some reason why subs have to be made at 60 minutes and not before? Forrest is an enigma. He should clearly be giving us much more than he does. He hardly makes any attempt to take his man on to the outside, and never shows any determination to retrieve the ball when we lose it.

One man up front is clearly not working, so why not change it? Giving Weah only 5 minutes is a complete sop, and grossly unfair.

Our decision making is utterly inept. We initiate Hibs attacks from our own throw ins. Nobody goes to the byline at our throws to expand the attacking area, and preclude offside decisions. Our corners are just tragic. We had two good ones today, an Odsonne volley and a Simunovic header. The rest were just wasteful.

Why did Rogic take a free kick, when clearly Odsonne had the better technique?

I love Lennon the man, but he is definitely not the man to lead us next season. Man U are now paying the penalty for an emotional hire. We should not replicate their error.

It is instructive that the hordes on the Dark Side are hoping we sign Neil. Why is that, I wonder?
