  6. There is no doubt that Broonie is the experienced Player and has been Mega for Celtic.

IMHO – It is Time to get Callum in his position. Broonie is not a guy who will make things happen from where he plays (talking Domestic fitba). Callum Owned that spot and Celtic were playing their most fluent attacking stuff when there.

Broonie has played some cracking passes this Season. Cracking weights to the passes as well.

Broonie is Mega but Celtic have even Better for Domestic games against teams that sit in – Hibs didnae dae that howevaaah.

    Hibs played well.

  7. Player of year this year ?

brown or McGregor Week In week out these two players have been our most consistent

Some calls for Forrest but not consistent enough Apart from a two month spell before Xmas mostly invisible

  8. SydneyTim,

Wan thing that made me think Neil isnae getting the gig Long Term was when he said He’d build the team around Broonie.

    Made no sense to me.

Another Genuine 9iar + is all down to the Lord Almighty – It’s His story after all.

I’m pretty sure the Lord Almighty is annoyed about unbelief.

  9. Callum was as poor as seen for so long.

My Dad commented that he had had a poor game. Long way the dude has came.

Callum is my POTY. Jamesie Sekonda. Broonie 3rd.

FFS get Edouard aff the Central Striker position – he is mega running @ defenders.

  10. I hope that Timothy WEAH gets game Time.

If he has let it be known he isnae coming back then fair dos, dinnae play him.

He has the energy , IMO, that is lacking because of so many games played by so many players.

  11. Weebawbabbity & Sid

It’s all about getting over the line, hopefully your fears are just fears :-) Neil is there to do a job and am pretty sure he will succeed :-)

So many low level journalists out there in Scotland, EVER since.

Misery Celtic put them ooooot of their,

  13. It’s a fresh cool morning in the Chilterns… expecting, but not forecasting another warm sunny day.

Hope everyone had fine Easter Sunday and is still enjoying the sunny Easter Weekend.

Seems like yesterday’s performance put a blight on the weekend for some. I didn’t see it so just happy for another point towards the 8iar:))

I’ve said since Lenny came, well actually Auldheid said it and I agreed, that it’s one game at a time.

When we beat Steven Gerrard’s Sevco Rangers at Celtic Park it the league was a but won, we just need to get to the finishing line.

The reason for my one game at a time outlook was this…

…we have a Celtic squad that’s not as good as some think, it is, despite it’s record winning, not a “great” Celtic side.

Yet on our day we can beat any team in Scotland, so, that’s the plan, one game at a time.

Not sure what our man from the brig is on re Easter Rd…

Lenny has won a Cup tie at Easter Rd as has BR.

BR never won a league match at Easter Rd, true, but to say we haven’t won there in the last five years, when we never played them during Ronny’s tenure and the invincible Season is either subterfuge or a memory lapse… I’ll go memory lapse;)

They got a few skelpings at Celtic Park.

So onward to Kilmarnock at Paradise, was hoping to be celebrating the Championship after that game but never mind… it will come…

    Hail Hail

  14. I am now disputing that old saying ” He doesnt become a bad Player overnight”……N’Cham and Sinclair anyone ?

After the first 15 Minutes yesterday, I was shouting for Lenny to take N’Cham Off, and get Big Tam ON Pronto !

As for Scott Sinclair…..I’d swap him for 3 Sheets of Corrogated Iron in a heartbeat…just like some of Transfers back in the really old days. For some time now, he’s been Too feart to take on Defenders, NOT a good factor for any winger.

I love Lenny, but why did he wait until around the 62nd Minute to get N’Cham off, and Big Tam on ? TR caused Hibs problems with his close control and running at them, committing Defenders, and leaving space for other Celts, although we failed to capitalise on this occasion.

Note. I read that during Killie v Sheep game on Saturday, Dom Ball of the dons, HEADBUTTED a Killie player, and got away with it….thats not like Dominic, is it ?

Also, interesting that McInnes subbed Cosgrove, as he was in danger of being Sent Off, and McInnes has been praised in the media for his ” Wisdom” ………funny how the very same McInnes never Subbed Lewis Ferguson against us last week at hampdump, BEFORE he tried to snap Rogic…and after committing at least 9 offences, BEFORE his shocker on Tom Rogic ?

Messsage to Lenny…get Tom Rogic in the starting X1,and either Burke or Weah to partner big Eddy up front against Kilmarnock….Scott Sinclair can carry the Hamper as far as I’m concerned.

    HH

  15. I dont usually slag off Celtic Players too much, but we have a League and Cup to win, we can’t carry passengers, and have Scott Brown and Cal doing ALL the work in midfield.

    HH

  16. spikeysauldman on

    SydneyTim,

Disagree on Cal Mac v JF.

When was last time Cal Mac had consecutive good games ?

Yet you reckon JF is inconsistent ?

Jut my opinion mind you (and admittedly I’m a big JF fan).

  17. Good morning CQN from an overcast and mild Garngad

We are making hard work of this feckin league, surely everyone and their Granny could see that Ntcham was pish from the off yesterday. Why leave it so long to take him off.

    Anyway onto killie

    D. :)

  18. Chairbhoy 6.23am

Whether we played there or not wasn’t the point… “we” have not won there in the “league” in 5 years was the stat and don’t bring Ronny into it but am glad you recognised BR “never” won there in the league, which I hadn’t realised … and Hibs were in the league when BR was in charge which was the point I was trying to get across … but we all read posts differently

By the way the sun is splitting the trees in ML5 :-)

  19. By the way .. Chairbhoy

“Not sure what our man from the brig is on re Easter Rd”

You are not alone, half the time am not sure maself :-)

  20. morning bhoys from a hazy sunshine Cheshire, lets just move on to killie next week.hh.

  21. Just after reading James Forrest’s latest on while Lenny should not get the job. Among the reasons he lists is that Neil does not have a degree in emotional intelligence.

I’ll say that again, Lenny doesn’t have a degree in emotional intelligence…

I’m away for a lie down.

  22. Well it’s fair to say that most of us know a team overhaul is required . Will a major spend on player recruitment happen , this is celtic we are talking about ,it is anyones guess . We will soon find out how much our absent landlord and the suits WANT 10 in a row , because we certainly won’t get it with some of the players currently donning the hoops . Imho some have overstayed there time with us ,and have become stale and Inconsistent . The same players a couple of seasons ago would have had no8 wrapped up ages ago .

  23. if no one wants to read about the game yesterday and certain opinions…just Feckin scroll by …Feckin Simples !

As for the great saves from the Hibs goalie yesterday ( Not forgetting Scott Bains contribution), Ive lost count of the number of times that the opposition Goalie has played out of their skin against us.

Back in the Day, after playing well against Celtic, we usually signed the opposition Goalies ?

Apart from N’Cham, Sinclair and to a lesser extent Emilio, I thought we played okay most of the Match, considering that especially with N’Cham being so poor from the start, it left us looking as if we were playing with 10 Men, with Broony and Cal being outnumbered at times in midfield.

That was my ONE Major criticism of Lenny, as he really should have taken N’Cham off in the 1st half, preferably the first 15/20 Minutes .

I remember “Rickson the Thug”, being taken off by The Hun manager ( Advocatt), after 20 Minutes or so against Celtic, when Bobby Petta was Roasting Him.

It may appear harsh to take off a player after only 15/20 Minutes, as they MIGHT come on to a game etc, but that doesn’t happen to often ? Managers are Paid good Money to make Big Calls, and yesterday Lenny ( who I love), should have made that call much sooner, rather than wait until around the 62nd Minute to bring on Tom Rogic.

N’Cham did have One excellent effort at goal in the 1st half, but that was it, and apart from his poor passing, he was left looking half asleep, as the Hibs players took the Ball off of him a few times, as he WAITED for the Ball instead of moving towards it ?

Big Jozo and young Ajer continue to impress me, and to give Hibs some credit, they did look very lively in that opening spell especially.

Perhaps, some Celtic Players are feeling a tad nervous knowing that we are so close, MAYBE Lenny should give them a Glass of Whisky to settle any nerves before kick off ?

    HH

  24. I also hope that we Bin that Yellow Strip for next Season and forever, and while we are at it…the Pink wan also !

I suppose that we should also remember that Hibs have been in very good Form since Mr Heckingbottom became Manager, so the Point that we got yesterday, may be a point gained ?

Im not expecting the Huns to drop Points in the next Two games, so we have to do it on or own.

IF some Celtic Players are a bit nervous just now, FFS…What will they be like if we head to Ipox and the League still isnt won before then ?

I don’t even wish to think about that possible Scenario !

    HH

  25. Celtic really miss Leigh Griffiths.

It’s not spoken about a lot for obvious reasons. 104 goals in 203 games for Celtic. 45 assists on top of that.

Sometimes you need a guy who takes the one clear cut chance of the game.

He’s apparently doing double sessions to catch up on fitness. I can’t see him feature before the end of the season. Maybe if Celtic win the league against Killie he will play a second string against Hearts before the cup final. But other than that Leigh needs to focus on pre-season and the qualifiers.

    A team overhaul isn’t required.

  27. Celtic 1/750 to win the league.

That is, you must bet £750 to win just £1.

    Bookies not often wrong.

Next season may be a bit different but aren’t they always going to be according to some “sources”.

” I remember “Rickson the Thug”, being taken off by The Hun manager ( Advocatt), after 20 Minutes or so against Celtic, when Bobby Petta was Roasting Him.”

    —————————————

It was only recently that I discovered that Rickson was concussed after Bobby Petta hurdled him ( accidently kneed him on the side of the head – it’s the first bit of action on the highlights)

If you ever watch the full game go he was walking like a Zombie untill he is subbed.

( I know it’s hard to spot the difference between his Zombie like appearance that day and his usual game personnae)

    Advocat took decisive action.

If had happened to a Celtic player Martin O’Neill would have left him to half time , then said I’ll give you another 15 minutes “?

Neil follows in his masters footsteps

60 mins for first sub ( unless serious injury intervenes)

Anybody gotta link to the remaining games – all on the one page – trying to work out how things might go

  31. One of the problems NFL needs to learn, playing one up front only works if you have midfielders providing supporting runs into the box.

At present, the only guy who did this well has a bashed up face.

Bin the one up front plan, get two guys up there and stop giving opposition defences an easy time.

  32. THE ONLOOKER on 22ND APRIL 2019 9:44 AM

    ………………………

I remember reading about Ricksons “So called” Concussion a few Days after the Match. Personnally, I didn’t believe a word of it. if I remember correctly, Rickson didn’t require Treatment ( I may be wrong ?) by their Med team on/off the Pitch, and the story about him being “Concussed” came from the Daily Rags later, NOT Rickson or Advocat ?

Also, Rickson didn’t appear to Happy about being Subbed, and IF He was “injured”, why appear to be unhappy ? I also would imagine that a Hun Chump like Rickson in particular would have seriously “Milked it” , just to get Petta Booked/Sent Off, I don’t remember him doing much Milking at the time ?

I would NEVER believe a word that Rickson said, IF he DID claim to being Concussed…or anything else for that matter.

I always HATED Rickson, he was never slow at dishing it out, which he did often. The thing is, I also thought that whenever He did stick to trying to Play Football, he was not a bad Player ? He was good passer, and Crosser, and Sadly He also scored with a good Header against us at Celtic Park….BUT, He was and will always be just a Hun Thug, who was ALWAYS Greeting and Moaning at The Ref, whenever things were not going the Huns way.

Remember his Off The Ball Karate Kick at Pittodrie, and afterwards Rickson claimed that the Aberdeen Player…” Needed Sorted Out” ! Again, I think Rickson only got a Yellow Card for that “Assault” ?

I came across Rickson twice…and on one occasion He REFUSED to give HIS Mate a loan of a FIVER, so that HIS Mate could Buy a PC Game, so HIS Mate had to return it to the Shelf, as HIS Mate didn’t have enough Money on him !

Rickson had just bought a PC Game called…wait for it….”HALO”….I was standing in the Queue, and I honestly thought he would have bought Two Copies ?

Mates like Rickson, I could certainly do without. He was a miserable, moaning Face Hun Bassa On and Off the Pitch, always Playing the “Victim”…I couldn’t give a Toss about him.

Didn’t he also claim to have spent the night with that Make Up Bag “Jordan”, and She later called him a liar ? Now, I don’t know that Burd,, but Id sooner believe Her than Rickson.

  33. Sundays Game was a game that wouldn’t give you confisence in Celtic winning this League title never mind ten in a row, Celtics accurate passing off the ball was non existant in the first half, and just as bad in the second half.

Can this Manager get Celtic on a winning run,I doubt it , I think the rest of the Season is going to be much the same as the last six games, Struggling to win them, I would also like to see the Manager do a bit of smiling in the Dug-out, any time the Camera’s zoomed into the dugout he was grim faced, not once was there a smile on his face.

Someone said on here that there need to be multible changes to the squad, Why. Celtic over the last two and a half seasons were great, most of the players that were there when rodger the dodger was there are still in the sqaud, just get them back to playing to they’re previous best, It’s very unusual for a whole team to have a drop in form except for Bain and Ajer.

I hope I’m wrong but it will be a struggle for the rest of the season if they’re form doesn’t pick up.

  34. See this football manger stuff?

When Ntcham is on it, he’s terrific. When he’s off it he is pure gash so he is. I think we’ll punt him this summer.

When Rogic is fit, he should always start. A special player who looks committed to Celtic (unlike Ntcham at the minute).

Ryan Christie shows his value to us by his absence. He’s been a more than able replacement for Armstrong, but how we miss a midfielder who can make runs into the box.

And much as I love Broonie, I still think the best we have played this season was when he was injured and McGregor really stepped up.

Strange, this feeling of dissatisfaction, when there’s a treble round the corner.
