  1. Next two games won’t be easy even if one is at home. NL seemed bereft of ideas this afternoon. The subs were far too late to make an impact. Sinclair has more in his locker than Hayes and he scores goals. Neither Burke nor Weah appear part of the project any longer. That’s a pity.

Hope your dad is looking forward to a possible treble treble, am pretty sure he has seen us a lot worse than these days :-)

Well not a great display, other teams do raise their game when they play us and are itching to beat the best team in the land.Weah and Rogic should have come on earlier. Our finishing in front of goal has deserted us,the problem with corner kicks needs addressed. At least we are in a position that others crave and that in itself helps erase a few bad results of late.I leave you with a quote from the late Bobby Robson ‘I would give my right arm to become a concert pianist’ unquote.Others are panicking because of what we can achieve as we head to the season’s end and dreading we can do the Tr3bl3.Let us entertain them!!!

    Post of the Day

  5. Easter Sunday spoiled.

Firstly the dreadful news from Sri Lanka, what is the matter with cowards murdering innocent people.

    —————————————————————————————————————————————————-

Thinking the football may be a distraction headed out to get sniffed.

Initial reaction to team was OK, although no KT was a disappointment, however that was on the assumption everyone tried a leg. Which did not happen yet NL getting all sorts of criticism.

Izzy looked shakey but worked hard.

Ncham a disaster kept passing to opposition.

James Forrest looked like he was living off last weeks plaudits, really disappointed as I thought he was finally becoming the player everyone hoped he would be,but this was poor,no impact apart from a few crosses.

Scott Sinclair zero contribution, why NL brought him on was a Managerial blunder, Burke should have been through the middle with Eddy feeding off him on the right.

If these guys blow the title from this position then it will be unforgivable.

PS read lots of guff about players cant migrate to different tactics etc, this is rubbish, they are highly paid individuals who better man up.

In my view we were playing with 3 men down due to poor or marginal performances step forward,

Izzy,Forrest, and Ncham, and Sinclair when on,not good enough.

Scott Brown carrying too many players.

Hi – me and Wee BGFC just back after a detour to see Miss BGFC on her 20th Birthday up in St Andrews.

    To the game.

After negotiating two full body searches, attention from a sniffer dog looking for drugs or flares or bangers, ot whatever, the cameras, the general over bearing suspicious and constant scruitiny, etc. – all part of the now-weekly operation to get in to watch a game of football – we managed to get into the game unscathed.

I must admit that I am starting to feel a bit down with the over-zealous security at football these days – impossible to enjoy a day out with my boy without having to be on edge constantly – really quite scunnered.

The game itself – we tried, Hibs tried, we should have scored, their goalie had three really good saves, one of which was fabulous.

Ncham – can’t pass water. If Rogic is fit – play him.

Sinclair – looks bereft of any confidence. If Burke is fit – use him as a sub instead.

KT – never heard what was the matter with him – hope he’s OK for Killie.

Rest of the team was quite good. Hibs were good – new manager has them playing well.

On to Killie next week – easier to gain entrance unharassed at the home games.

However, too many people seem to go to the games at Celtic Park just to hurl foul abuse at Celtic players. They should go and support another team – they’d fit in better alongside their fellow Celtic-abusers.

Really getting fed up with this…

Really not getting not playing the loan players, play your best 11 to win any and every game.

  8. For what it’s worth…thought it was a good game plenty chances n excitement. Ncham was very poor but kinda enjoyed the game but I have been on the randan all day so that might be a cause for retrospection tomorrow. Been out with the family and the young team…there’s nothing better ???x2

If there are grades of 0-0 draws , today’s was by no means the worst and neither was the performance. I recall one game at Kilmarnock last season under Rodgers , where we had one shot on target…..a free kick in the 90th minute.

If today’s had been a mid season game I don’t think the level of frustration would be quite so high , but when the league win is so tantalisingly close everything gets a bit tetchy.

  13. Very Happy and belated Easter Sunday

Full day spent with family, including mass earlier, where I lit several candle for those in need of light in their life.

    Now

    Repeating myself here

Brendan, Chris Davies,Kolo Toure and Glen Driscoll all left earlier

We have replaced 4 of the Management team with 2

    Lenny and Damian Duff

I am un-decided on Lenny, but he is not getting the backing Brendan got

I think our Board are once again gambling with us to see this season out as Treble Treble champions

  14. glendalystonsils on

    NORRIEM on 21ST APRIL 2019 10:53 PM

Maybe Lenny is not getting the backing because the board are also undecided . I do hope if this is the case that they have a definite plan in place going forward. If Lenny is the plan , tell us now and back him accordingly.

No matter what you think of the Rodgers saga , the Leicester board acted decisively in bringing him in to secure their place in the premier league . We have title 8 to secure , squad rebuilding , CL qualification and on to title 9 but it all seems to be a bit ‘ make it up as you go along’.

  15. WK67 10.44pm

    I totally understand that :-)

Us Celtic fans sometimes aren’t even happy when we are happy

    TAL/Big George

Seemingly KT has a groin injury and seeing a specialist this week to see if it can be done in the close season or more urgent

I know some don’t like us being linked to the Sevs but i think our close season is different to their Close (bros) season :-)

  16. Player of the year will be upon us next month… my four top Celts in order are

    Broony

    Jamesy F

    Calmac

    Scotty Sinclair

I canny believe Broony is ignored he is a Celtic mainstay … as close as a modern day Maestro (but not as good as Paul yet :-)

Game management and goals win and manage games :-)

  17. glendalystonsils on

    GFTB

Couldn’t agree more. Goals (especially winning goals) are important of course , but Broony’s overall contribution to the team is greater than anyone else . Week in and week out.

  18. Not our worst performance today but the lack of goals in our team with our superiority in games is a worry. We definitely have issues in that department.

Three nil nils in 7 games in our league is unacceptable, that’s not entitlement that’s knowing you have a problem. Throw in the Dundee game, the struggles against St Mirren, the problem seems we have certain players who need a big stage to perform.

I was saying after 30 mins that James Forrest was giving a i done it last week its someone else’s turn today as i can’t be bothered performance.

The situation is clear, Celtic need 4 points from next two games, to save us from the circus of going to Ibrox with the league not won.

Don’t expect Sevco to drop points now, i expect them to win the next two home games.

  19. Are we,

    Celtic,

7 in a row Champions, double treble winners,

7 domestic trophies in a row winners,

9 points clear with 4 games to go,

    Unbeaten this year,

needing only 4 points from an available 12 to win the title,

    Our 8th in a row,

    Under pressure?

  20. Glendaly 11.36pm

I have a few Celtic daft friends who have never liked Broony.. grudgingly they now admit he is better than they thought … I just laugh .. Broony at Hibs went toe to toe with Neil Lennon but even scarier he faced up Bobo Balde …. there is a fine line between bravery & stupidity :-) but our captain is a far better footballer than many give him credit for … am a bit of a Broony fan \o/

  21. Sid 11.43pm

That’s fair enough but losing 3 league goals and unbeaten in 2019 domestically surely should mean something ? Naw ? I am a Neil Lennon fan I think we have a better manager and since BR left for an EPL minnow, Neil has won the “big” games Hibs at Easter Road in the cup where Brendan NEVER won, Aberdeen at Hampden when even some Celtic fans doubted we could win without Brendan and then beat the Sevs where Brendan gave Seethin Gerrard a lift with his team selection back in December last year … the last time Celtic lost domestically

  22. GFTB and GLENDALYSTONSILS…

Post-matches, many CQNrs nominate their MOTM.

Despite his industry he’s often overlooked for the plaudits, incl yesterday.

Despite the surrounding lethargy, he was absolutely brilliant in fwd and reverse gears. Legend.

  23. Quadraphenian 12.09am

Broony is a far more intelligent footballer than many give him credit for, and he probably thrives on that, today when Kris Ajer went on a Roy Aitken run … feed the bear :-) .. our captain slipped back into position to cover Kris

In my opinion Scott Brown is having about his 8th terrific season with Celtic out of 10 going on 11… injury and personal tragedy hindered him and that stuff is far more important than football

  24. Morning, GFTB hope you are good bud, unfortunately I am in the scared camp , as you know it’s all about opinions, most Celtic supporters that I know don’t think broony is a better player than he is giving credit for , and most Celtic fans I know, in fact all don’t want Neil as manager, someone posted earlier that all the new rangers fans hope we install him , kind of some s it up for me , hope you’re having a good weekend HH, DD stay strong, you have a lot friends on this blog ?

  25. Yup. He’s matured terrifically at CP.

And to think of how many had written SB off recently as ‘done’.

    Now Mika – alas – is a different story…

  26. GFTB

This unbeaten thing sounds good but we are struggling to score in most games in Scotland, its not acceptable with the resources we have , anything else is excuses.

Look the overall record is good, the players have turned up in the big games, i said all that in my post. We have a talented squad that should be winning in this league, we should be attacking teams more, playing at a higher tempo from the off and winning games more comfortably.

You can see Neil’s frustration when that isn’t happening, he feels we are well capable as i do.

Give me 2 wins and defeat over 3 draws, its about winning games in a league not remaining undefeated, Tommy Burns knows about that.

  27. Out of ten

    Bain 7. Player well

Ajer 7 he just gets better and better

Simunovic. 6. He can see gaps in our midfield and charges up Park now

Izzie. 4. Not up to it anymore

Brown 6. On his own in central mid

    Ntchamp 2. Poor poor poor

McGregor 5. Tries hard and passes well

Forrest 3. About 15 games this season invisible

    Hayes 4. Not Celtic class

Edouard 5. Struggled with zero support up front. Celtic need 2 strikers

  28. Melbourne Mick on

Hello again all you young rebels.

As mostly everyone is moaning about another point towards the

treble treble i think i need to moan now.

Four weeks ago i ordered stuff from Celtic online and still nothing

appearing, and i’m at the window every morning hoping the postie

will stop and deliver the holy parcel.

If only we had a wee shoppe in Melbourne.
