Well said…
On the tiredness thing, while many players have been out for a chunk of the Season I get the feeling fatigue (and battery – Fritzsong) has played a major part in this. Outside Edouard I’m not sure any players have came back “fighting fit”, KT being a case in point.
The squad played almost fifty European games under the last regime… crazy, when you take in the difference in standard, officiating, travelling that takes. The add to the fact we have played in every round of every domestic cup. It’s a tough ask when your asking the same players to step up to the plate over and over…

Whoever our manager is going to be next season, it is imperative that his first purchase is a dead ball expert. I can only remember us scoring from one corner all season (there might be more). On Sunday we had nine corners, and we only twice involved the Hibs goalkeeper. Once was to collect a floated high ball, and one ever was a smart save. One save from nine corners? Poor.
Free kicks outside the area are the same. There have been times I have expected Celtic to score from free kicks (Thompson, Nakamura). Nowadays… nah. Eddie drew a smart save from the keeper from one of two free kicks I can remember, so that’s not too bad, but how many goals have we scored from free kicks this season? Not enough, that’s for sure.
If we had converted one free kick yesterday and scored from even one corner, that’s 2-0, and we probably end up taking four or five off them, with the pressure off.
So, for me, the number one priority for recruitment is to procure a wide or midfield player who is also a dead ball expert.

I’m really toiling to buy this ‘we’re just very tired’ line (paraphrase).
In terms of Scottish football, we’re a Man City or ‘Pool – our deep squad filled with million-figure stars.
No other club spends as we’ve spent; position-for-position we should have better players in every dept.
We have facilities and resources, staff and support that other Scots clubs can only dream of. But we’re ‘tired’??
I didn’t hear Pep say his mob were running on empty when going for their quadruple (skooshed now anyway!)
In 2017/18, City played 55 games, many of them against really top teams at home & abroad. They competed.
I didn’t see insipid or wan performances week after week from them; sure, they got done, but they showed up!!
Our malaise isn’t physical – Neil himself said it on his weekend’s interview; it’s about attitude, hunger & spirit.
I’d also suggest it’s about the indecision hanging around the place about who’s in charge next year.
A former coach regularly had to tell me and my team-mates to ‘get the heid oan right’ – that wins games or, in the case of our lesser resourced SPFL counterparts, gets draws and sneaks wins against better teams. HH

MM – true, we have good players but I wonder if the heid thing is about ‘fear’; fear of losing their mojo, or not getting the 8, 9, 10 we expect them to?
ANGEL – Sure we play more games than them (but 55 top tier games last year musta been tough too)
If ‘fatigue’ has gathered; shouldnt that have been legislated for and managed out…with fresh blood etc?
And to your last point – as per my reply to MICK – our fatigue is mostly mental/fear driven and – fair play – could include the ‘peculiarities’ of the Scottish officiating scene. HH

So many things going through my pea brain @ the moment.
Wan thing is certain, Celtic have played a lot mair games than maist teams because of being successful and because of the horrible Big League bias meaning our players get no rest unless they get an injury.
It has been bugging me for ages as why Brendan Rodgers would try and take out the backroom staff. Is this confirmed?
If it is, then it is a damning indictment on Brendan a lot worse, dare I say it, than leaving Celtic when going for a 3xTreble.
Stevie Woods was a bit older than me @ St Pats, Delighted he is doing so well, and Valued so much.
Scott Bain has been outstanding since he has been given the gig.
Celtic to the core – So many come frae the Olde St Pats in Dumbarton. I doubt many if any would Leave Celtic for mair Money when the Money is already astronomical.
The Theory of Relativity… hmmmm
Kieran is such a mega component to Our Celtic side.
I hope Celtic make sure he is fully fit for Next Season. If that jeopardises a Treble Treble so be it. His A-Game has been sorely missed. No point patching up a young kid ffs. There is nae doubt that Kieran has heard about Sean Fallon and likely would play through anything to help the team.
Broonie is a specialist player, he reads the game so well, not as well as Neil Lennon did, IMO – experience means you learn the game inside out. Lenny was the absolute master of that.
Callum needs to be played more Dani Behr especially against packed defences.
The olde Celtic Park will be buzin’ when Callumstigator is pulling the strings.
