  1. Laxalt is some player. Sadly, he’s someone else’s player.

Question – does anyone on here genuinely believe the current management team have what it takes to win the league this season?

To me, that’s the only question we should be asking. Everything else is noise

  2. Through the rain on

I just can’t understand our cautious level of play. 1st half we were pretty decent but not threatening enough offensively. We must take the initiative.

Fear of losing is not the Celtic way. The thrill of winning is!

That would be a good night!

    Gotta go!

  4. The Battered Bunnet on

You don’t lose a league in a single moment, you lose it one draw at a time until you run out of points to win.

  5. Elyannoussi is one dimensional and totally overrated – no pace and no clue. 3-5-2 is Celtic. Rogic is a luxury player with no engine.

I feel for Ajeti – he is a penalty box player who would thrive alongside Eduard – the is NEVER EVER a lone striker as he has no pace to get to the flanks.

I love Lennon but if we want a chance at the ten – we need a shot in the arm and a fresh approach.

  6. Broony, you cost us 2 points. Maybe the manager his job too. Oh dear.

Laxalt is one classy player. Deserved his goal.

  7. glendalystonsils on

While we are in sevco’s rear view mirror , that’s two points dropped rather than a point won .

I hope folks on here aren’t going to try and turn this into a witch hunt against Lennon

    Ok

What do we do to turn this round ?

  9. The Blogger Formerly Known As GM on

We should never have dropped points today. We were in complete control until Bitton and Brown lost the plot with idiotic decision making.

    That gave Hibs a lift.

Frimpong is never a right back…..sleeping for the penalty rebound and shockingly bad for Hibs’ second.

Amazing what an ‘up for it’ Eddy can do to transform a team. Alas, too little, too late.

5 behind (?) if we win the two in hand?

Perfectly doable, but not with this management team who seem to have no clue about their best 11.

  10. I’m not one for worrying about things and this league is far from over, but the concern is that we are not learning, we are not progressing.

We still look shapeless and disorganised. If we are going to rely on simply having better players then they have to be available and they have to ‘turn up week in week out.

This is retrievable but with every passing week it us less so. Mr Desmond and Mr Lawwell – over to you im afraid.

  11. I’m surprised some people are still being surprised.

The sentimental birthday card pish you get on here doesn’t paper over the enormous fact that this regime has run its course a long time ago. We’ve been playing a testimonial season for a group that won’t win this league under this management team. Clear months ago, only those with the same level of hubris and complacency on here who refuse to give up their staunch status.

Teams are trolling that defence, knowing there are goals, a wide open midfield and a powder puff attack with no identity, shape nor desire. Same stubborn errors played out each week.

    Ah well.

    HH

  12. through the rain! you are bang on with that assessment.

Celtic should go for the throat from the 1st minute – commit wide players an attack.

We only do that when we go behind and usually reacting with late subs.

Shocking for celtic in the Scottish league ffs

  13. A lot of people saying Rangers will drop points – of course they’ll drop points. But how many will we drop before they do? Will we suddenly start dominating the head-to-heads with them after being thoroughly outplayed in recent games?

Today’s result is awful in a couple of ways. A defeat would’ve seen a change of manager. A draw gives Lennon and the board to laud the “spirit”.

I have a horrible feeling that Sevco won’t only win this league but stroll it.

  14. Scrambling for a last minute equaliser against a very poor Hibs team. Even Hibs TV were talking about how poor our defence is; teams just need 2 or 3 chances to score, we need 10 to 12!

Bitton an idiot as is Brown, they have about 1,500 professionals games behind then and they play like amateurs, Bitton gives away a needless foul followed by Brown giving away a needless penalty.

The team which ended the game should have started it.

Unless Sevco start to drop points we’re goosed.

  15. 10IAR is definitely gone. Neil Lennon’s time has come and gone.

For those defending him, he’s been a great servant but enough is enough.

  16. Lost points- not good.

Away after international to hibs team who knew ref would give them carte blanche- predictable and difficult.

Club decision not to challenge refs- madness.

We knew refs would be awful this year. They don’t bother when we’re 10 points ahead. Sevco are in the merde, they have a chance. First they pushed our players at Every opportunity off the ball.

How Alan f*ckin Muir is allowed within 50 miles of one of our games…

Yes we should start with better intensity.

  17. onenightinlisbon on

Frimpong posted missing in the second half. Anyone saying we did great coming back from 2-0 is missing the point. We are disjointed and turgid. Time for Lennon to GTF.

  18. PeterLatchfordsBelly on

We will be told it was a great come back. Shows our spirit etc.

We are being told to disbelieve what we can see with our own eyes.

    We are beIng gaslit.

  19. I suppose the real issue is the people that appointed Neil Lennon. If we leave this any later it will be too late to salvage the season, which is compounded by the fact the league winner may go straight into group stages of the champions league.

Lennon, will not walk by himself, no one will walk out of a good paying job of their free will. And I o not see Lennon getting any other managerial job after us, so he is not going to walk.

Lennon managed p bring this team home last year because the team were tactically still playing the same as under Brendan Rodgers and Lennon did not change anything. This is now Lennon’s team and Lennon’s tactics and he is being found out by modern day managers.

  20. UNCLE JIMMY on 21ST NOVEMBER 2020 4:56 PM

Laxalt is some player. Sadly, he’s someone else’s player.

Question – does anyone on here genuinely believe the current management team have what it takes to win the league this season?

    ———————–

If the boardroom beleives the league is gone (which given they have overseen 15 wins from 20) then I think they will stick with the manager and staff simply because who do they bring in that garantees the next one.

They dont spend money to get rid or appoint someone else.

They write this league off, and reboot later.

For me, a bigger impact would be if the manager walks, that then would lose us the title,

I struggle to think of who this new manager could be or should be.

And that has me truing to keeping the one we have,

A neutral watching that game today would not have picked up all the things that our “suppporters” on here do, Take the name Celtic out of it, and who the manager is, and maybe others would think that was a point salvaged.

We have won league with a point before.

  21. While I understand Neil and Co should come under criticism let us not forget those players…..some on healthy pay cheques, take the blame. When you cross the white line….remember that wee nugget!

  22. Note to NL. We have an international full back. Play him. Frimpong is a liability. Griff is a striker. Play him. Ajeti is shit. Stop playing him.

Rogic cannot last 90 mins. We all know that.

  23. I’m sure Sevco can only throw there lead away ,for us 10 can still be achieved,we have a good group of players ,but some off them look if they have played to much first team games,ie McGregor ,Brown ,Christie,Bitton not a bad player but is pron to defending and that’s how Hibs made it 2/1,as for Neil Lennon does he get sacked or does he walk ,personally I would walk because under him and his management it will get worse ,

  24. Well,……looks like if this continues, league, Europe and season are over.

Sadly, Neil’s parting silverware should be last season’s treble, if and when that

    happens.

He is a true Celtic legend in every sense but …………………………………..

Fresh input with a new management team is needed……………….. now.

  25. I’m not happy either but the gap at the top has been cut to 8 points…..

Sack Neil Lennon – then what?

I think when – OK if – we win the Scottish Cup next month it will give the team its belief back

however if we lose then I fear a downward spiral from there,

either way – I’m going to wait until after the Scottish Cup Final before considering withdrawing my support of the manager,

difficult times for us guys but suggest we hang on for wee while longer before throwing the toys out of the pram – they are in a lot of debt down Ibrox way – something might give

I take no pride in being right.

IMHO Boris is better at his job than NL

Yep I thought that would cause a reaction

We have one objective win 10

We will not win10 with NL

We are a piss poor team.

FFS. Hibs went after us at 2-2

If we want 10. Make a change on Monday

If a change is not possible

Huns are back big style – get used to this feeling.

  27. I’m stating the obvious when I say we needed 3 points but I prefer a draw to a loss.

Stupid challenge from Brooney handed them the imitative and before we knew what was happening we were 2 down.

So in all the circumstances a draw & a point is some bit of relief.

Overall things are looking a bit bleak for ten in a row but at least the International shite is over, the sooner the Europa is over the better as well.

We still have plenty of games to turn things around so I’m not throwing in the towel but we need a road to Demascus recovery at this stage.

Too many players know they’ll be leaving at the end of the season.

Change of manager won’t be enough.
