  1. Mad Mitch,

You make some good points, but why use analogy of killing a poor defenceless animal. ?

Very poor, surely you saw the reaction when a multi million pound player kicked a cat for fun.

    HH to you.

You are a bad / bad / bad man.

Trying to wind me up like that.

There will always be a time when a feline will need to be neutralised / whacked / liquidated.

Not very often I grant you but you never know.

Just in case — be prepared — have a 5 gallon drum of Carnation milk to hand.

If you find yourself in Africa or Siberia then I would suggest a 50 gallon drum.

Felines can be bigger in Africa.

  3. Somebody posted, the other day, something about ‘what’s the point’ relating to a couple of pointed posts.

Isn’t it true – it often is in my case – that we’re kinda actually posting for ourselves, not for the forum?

Whether it’s our attempts at grandstanding a fitba insight, cry of how great a Celtic fan/boozer/manager we are, why we’re commercial, political or sporting savants or, even, we know how to bait and troll a community better than any other of the hunfiltrators loitering, posts are often more about ‘us’ than about our fellow communards.

That’s shirley why so many make the same point(s) over and over – (we will not follow you if you do btw) – about pet causes, pet hates, pet loves and pet sounds [esp the late night crew]: Addicted to our own view of things.

I sometimes wish I had the knack of soliciting the engagement or broad feedback that some other CQNers seem to do. But again that’s my self-centredness; I’m kinda doing it cos I’m tickled by my own observations, turns of phrase, approximations or mental musing – posting, really is mostly all about you, rather than all about us.

The trolls and outrageds get way more traction than the fair – if unspectacular – contributions on here do.

Howevva…it’s great what a wee Motherwell draw can do for salving a resentment. Would Motherwell do Dortmund too ;)

I got a wee bit bullied by the Bay swell at teatime there; but it cleaned the mind and calmed the soul some.

HH all you bhoys and ghirls.

    Warning – non football post.

Followed this link from Barth’s Twitter page with some interest.

I wonder also if Ken Clarke and John Bird would care to ask Lord Lebedev his views on the Russian invasion?

(They did, after all, support Evgeny becoming a British life peer).

For those unfamiliar with the ennobled Russian, he is the son of ex-KGB Officer Alexander Lebedev.

    What I hear you cry?

Surely this isn’t the same Evgeny Lebedev who hosted a tired and emotional Boris Johnson after he (Johnson) slipped his security detail?

    The very one.

  5. We are going through a strange time performance-wise. We seem to be labouring, huffing & puffing and firing blanks on occasion. The BODO games must have had an effect on the morale of the squad – to be beaten so comprehensively home and away is a confidence-sapper.

On the home-front the only plus-point is that despite in in and out performances, we have improved our league position and are ‘in the driving seat’ at the top of the league. I believe that if we can get a good result and performance on Wednesday against St Mirren, it could put us ‘back on track’ just in time for the run-in. Surely then we are due a result against Livingston and if we get one, and follow up with the same against Ross County, we could be renewed going into the Ibrox game…and have Kyogo & Turnbull back to boot.

Ange’s achievements to date are first-class and not to be questioned, however hearing him after games recently is slightly concerning – it appears he is watching a different game than I and what seems to be a large percentage of the support – strange one this!

You do realise it would have been just as easy to type ‘Jota’ instead of ‘JNPF’ -)))

I too think that MADMITCH can make interesting points, however I must admit to ‘scrolling by’ these days. The liberal use of abbreviation makes it all too much of a chore for me. However I would not dream of telling him how to present his views, I’m sure he wouldn’t listen either – to each his own!

The cat thing is unfortunate given the current climate, I agree with you.

  8. CELTIC MAC

Good call out on the Ali doc. Myself and friends took part in ‘lining of the streets’ for his funeral and my wife and I often walk to Cave Hill cemetery where he rests. It’s beautiful there.

  9. Big Jimmy is the funniest most straight talking poster on here, he obviously had issues with some and quite rightly called them out! Poorer forum without him. Mon Jimmy you know their Chumps!

  10. We shouldn’t be looking at Livi as if it’s Inter Milan 1960s we’re coming up against. If we draw a blank for a third time against Livi then some pointed questions need to be asked about our manager and coaches. We got away with one yesterday but six points this week are a must. No excuses.

Agreed . If Livvy have worked out how to stop us , we should be able to work out how to stop them stopping us .

if you see what I mean !

  12. surprised there was a recent red card. General behaviour has been better recently on the blog I thought. One tackle too many?

i didn’t see what it was for so can’t agree/disagree, just a shame

I do see what you mean and agree!

Really need Giakomakis back and put some of our good crosses away or at least rummle up their CHs

  14. For me the key is urgency.

We need to approach these games like we’re playing the last ten mins.

Far too often we tend to indulge ourselves keeping ‘nothing’ possession for the first hour of the game.

Take the shots from distance, work the triangles, get the crosses in.

A low block is not the football version of nuclear fusion. It can be solved. We now need to do that or the fall out from yesterday will seem very small compared to what awaits.

  15. Big Jimmy was a good poster but he overstepped the mark with continued bad language and nonsense

He deserved to go and will be missed

  16. Calmac is correct.Teams are terrified to even try to attack against us,as we saw on Sunday. We were nervous before the game, because of some dodgy games there in the past, but those games,Hibs tried to win..Not one shot on target, and very, very few off target.Playing against blanket defences, week in,week out, must start to feel laborious. Its not a surprise that our best display of the season was gubbing a Hun team that opened up,and tried to attack. We will see the same in our next two games.

I will be a bit more sympathetic in future.I hope. The killer for us yesterday, was the midfield.Improved when O Riley came on.Not enough killer passes through.

  17. Aipple

Glad you could access it. Never been to Kentucky but if I ever do visiting Ali’s resting place will be one of the main reasons I’m there. So, never been in Louisville, but have been in Lewiston Maine where Ali fought Sonny Liston in the second fight in 1965. Least likely venue you could imagine. Nothing wrong with the town, maybe as far away from the Miami mob you could get on the East Coast. Not sure it was far enough though.

  18. Clunks,

I would rather read Big Jimmy’s posts, than the multi posting lunatic who seems bent on destroying the blog.

I honestly don’t know what sort of sheltered lives some live, what pubs they go to,where they work, etc,if they think the very mild language used on here sometimes,is offensive.

Jimmy did not deserve to go.

    +++++++++++

He aint playing in the pub tho, he is playing somewhere where the rules say you can’t do that?

Although, one particular bar in Ayr used to give you 3 warnings for swearing, then they kicked you out lol

And I agree with you, I would rather read Big Jimmy’s posts, than the multi posting lunatic(s)
