  2. Invincible GG,

I was in downtown Houston tonight, went to the Rockets game and there was a real buzz. One of the biggest cheers was when they gave a score update and it was 4-0. I just caught the last couple of pitches when we got home.

Morning bhoys a good result yesterday who is best debate started again Sparky or Dembele ? I enjoy watching both and im glad we have both.I might watch the second semi final today but watching Rangers is for me hard to do another big game on Wednesday will test our squad as the games are coming thick and fast. H.H.

  7. Good morning – wet and windy (inside and out)

    Good luck to the Well

  8. Very happy with The Bhoys yesterday but deary me, on speaking to one or two fans after the game in the pub, I was disappointed to hear some who were adamant that Celtic were crap ?

It never ceases to amaze me how some so called Celtic fans refuse or don’t have the brains to look at the WHOLE picture ?

Yes, I thought 2 or 3 of our Bhoys were a bit quiet and didn’t maybe do too much, but my God I had remind these so called Celtic fans that we have had just over 2 days to recover from Munich, and not only are we up against a half decent Hibs team, but we are ALSO up against cheating corrupt officials.

These so called Celtic fans were nodding their heads in agreement with me, but still continued to say how crap we were…unbelievable !

I didn’t fall out with anyone, I just said ” Aye okay…see you later”, and walked away back to my pint.

These so called Celtic fans were not wee boys, they were grown men, but they really need a reality check.

EVERY Celtic fan should enjoy what we have at this moment, because one day our unbeaten run WILL come to an end, (probably down to corrupt cheating officials I suspect), and then these ” Celtic fans” will no doubt have something to moan about /

    I truly despair sometimes.

    God Bless the Auld ‘Tic.

Its a dilemma that they would not of had in the past when every team played with two strikers . In fact I think we should be trying it more often as Griff and Mous have styles that should compliment each other.

  10. Delighted with the result yesterday , still not playing with the fluency we had last season though .

Still giving possession away far to easily , imho .

  11. Just a wee thought that followed immediately after Celtic’s great victory yesterday……

One or two Celtic Bhoys that I am friendly with via drinking in the Calton, were of the opinion that maybe some Hun supporters MAY actually be hoping that their Deid club gets beaten today by Mudderwell, as some of those Hun fans MIGHT not be too keen on facing Celtic in this Cup Final /

Just a wee opinion that was being expressed by some Bhoys, that’s all ?

When fit Dembele is our best striker. Griffiths is good domestically but Dembele is a big game player who scores on the big occasions. He should start on Wednesday and against Bayern the following Wednesday.

  13. Gooood Morning CQN, ain’t it great weakening up a Bhoy :-))

    A wee Request !!!

Any of you Glasgow taxi Bhoys on today ?

“It never ceases to amaze me how some so called Celtic fans refuse or don’t have the brains to look at the WHOLE picture ?”

Like most people in Society, they have the brains but those same brains have been programmed by an anti-Celtic media . We have a great many supporters who are just as hard of thinking as is the population in general.

Keep being amazed though, Jimmy, optimism is a positive trait :-)

    JJ

PS I was aware of the same attitude that you highlight last week after the Dundee game. Some poor passes, which took up about five seconds of the match,, were enough for some to say we were dreadful. There seems to be no middle ground. We are either great or awful, apparently.

  15. Big Jimmy.

    Good posts.

We have an element in our support( hopefully small ) who are behaving in

    a spoilt way.

The players have had huge demands put upon them and have come through with flying colours. It appears that unless we win 4.0 it’s not good enough. Football is just not like that. Goodness help us,when we finally lose a game if that’s the way they behave when we win a cup semi 4.2, after arriving back in Glasgow at 4am in Thursday morning and playing Sat lunchtime.

    Hail Hail

    Ahh!

I had a good look at my post again and could not find even the slightest caressing of the criminals at Scotland`s Largest Lodge :-)

Good post big chap . The Celtic support is a broad church where many haven’t played the game at any level ,or don’t appreciate the standards demanded to represent Celtic .

The worst aspect for moi is the lack of appreciation , that we are living in as good a time as any to witness this Celtic team .

Valid criticism is fine as long as there is an acknowledgement that it takes many different aspects to a winning squad , and that every team is a total sum of all its parts .

Form fluctuates , niggling injuries aren’t always apparent and everyone makes mistakes .

Always worth remembering . Not to mention that there are 11 professional players in the opposition doing their utmost to stop us .

Then we have the “neutral” match officials ;-))

If they are wearing the hoops its because they are better football players than those in the seats or the terraces. HH

  18. Weebawbabitty

Went to Ogilvie 77-82 so just missed you.

Remember Park Lane too, used to be the JJ, owned by the great man himself.

  19. Looking at the video of ML’s 2nd goal, if he hadn’t scored, would our eagle-eyed referee and/or linesman have given a penalty kick due to Hibs no8 embracing SS as if they were romantically involved?

  20. I was reflecting on the Bayern game and the glowing reports by the Munich folks and police etc of all things Celtic. This is not the first time we have been so acclaimed. Everywhere we go, even England, reports are of a great fan base and cheerful and well behaved Celtic.

Then I thought, for all this love in, the only place we get bad press, is dear old Scotland. It’s a bit like the mother of the young lad in the boy cubs saying, Oh look , they’re all out of step except my wee Johnny when the are marching past.

Big question is though, what can we do about it? Some sort of Eufa or Fifa enquiry I feel but that is not easy because it’s not just the football side of things, it’s a lot deeper than that sadly.

My brain hurts, need a coffee.

  21. English journalists on Sky actively discussing the chances of Brendan taking the Leicester job. They then wonder if Ancelotti would be insulted by being linked with the West Ham job.

You could not believe the lack of self awareness amongst them, delusional people who just think that the endless pot of money available is the answer to everything.

I would suggest that in 3 seasons time Leicester will be back in the championship, unless of course Brendan takes leave of his senses and applies for the job.

    Nutters the lot of them.

  22. When you look at what we’ve achieved this season on the back of last season it’s remarkable. Champions League qualification achieved again despite a very short rest period in the summer when most of the players were playing International matches. We’ve won away in Europe for the first time in years and very convincingly, which has virtually guaranteed European football after Christmas. In the League its 7 wins out of 9, with the 2 draws coming after difficult away matches in Europe. In the League Cup we’re in the Final having scored 13 in 3 matches all against top tier teams. As it stands it’s 60 domestic matches unbeaten.

All of that has been achieved despite various injuries to key players such as Leigh, Dedryk, Jozo and Moussa. Sure, some of the football hasn’t been free flowing and there is room for improvement. The 5-0 PSG and 3-0 Bayern defeats were hard to take but they are not representative. The SMSM and their friends will use them to try and get to us. They are desperate, desperate people and our success is killing them. The trouble is it works. Reading some of the Twitter comments yesterday, before, during and after the game some of our players and even Brendan are being heavily criticised by our own supporters. Absolutely ridiculous. These players and the staff are writing history. They will be revered forever. Like Broonie for example, some of them wont be fully appreciated until they are gone and we realise what we are missing.

  23. BOBBY MURDOCH'S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS on

    THETIMREAPER

I have to agree with you,we are vastly-improved in every area in the last year and a bit. Sure, still a work in progress, and management know that, but I never once doubted our progress yesterday.

Not once we kicked off-I’m always dubious before the game. Game on was game over,no matter how many efforts were made by a garbage-yesterday-garbage-always referee who performed wi an eye on his bank balance.

Our manager even managed to tell the world just how poor the officials were in a manner which left no dubiety, but yet no possibility of a disrepute charge.

He kinda reminds me of one or two of our previous managers in that respect. Treble-winners they were too.

  24. Yesterday leaving the match, I overheard 1 supporter say to another “You can’t blame Brendan for that.” I turned to my mate to ask what he could have meant. He said something to the effect that they were only joking. Now I gather people have been criticising our manager. Why???

Players make the mistakes; our manager, I’m sure. doesn’t ask them to do anything he knows they are incapable of.

By the bye, I hope he continues to play Nir Bitton when one of our recognised CBs is injured. Bitton is the best passer of the ball out of defence, imo.
