HOOPS’ EURO DOUBLE BOOST

CELTIC have received a massive double Euro boost with Mikey Johnston and Hatem Abd Elhamed returning to training today.

The double-act missed Saturday’s 5-2 triumph over Motherwell at Fir Park and were rated doubtful for tomorrow night’s Champions League third round qualifier against Cluj at Parkhead.

Scotland Under-21 winger Johnston sat out last week’s 1-1 draw in Romania with a tight hamstring, but looked lively at Lennoxtown this morning as Neil Lennon prepare his troops for the crucial encounter with Dan Petrescu’s team.

The Israeli international right-back, who joined on a £1.2million transfer from Hapoel Be’er Sheva last month, played in the first leg, but was substituted near the end with Nir Bitton coming on.

A good result against Cluj will see the Hoops reach the play-off stage for a seventh time in eight seasons.

Slavia Prague will play the winners for the right to perform in the cash-rich Champions League groups stages.

Scotland’s eight-in-a-row title kings missed out last year after winning through in the previous two seasons.
