Hugely important League Cup tie

873

We have had games which were hugely important to the club, and to our new manager, some which were ‘must win’ games, which were ultimately lost, but tomorrow’s League Cup tie against Hearts is a must win game for different reasons.

A year ago we lost in this competition to one of the worst teams to win at Celtic Park in the last half century, possibly longer, but thus Hearts side are a Premiership team in all but name and come with the weight of their history behind them to fell Scottish football’s last superpower.

I’ve seen Hearts win at Celtic Park before, there is one particular painful memory as they taunted us while drawing, but Ronny and his new recruits should know, this game ranks above all league matches in order of importance.

Exactly. I was thinking of those annoying wee boys who run up to folk in the street, shout something dirty then run away, but your analogy is the very thing.

Thanks for you reply. I am surprised that you now say that you have no objections to immigrants who you deem to be qualified. Even more surprised that you maintain that the colour of an immigrant`s skin is of no importance to you.

For on this site on Saturday morning you posted that you longed for the “good auld days of a homogenic society” i.e. a society where most of the community share the same culture, language, ethnicity and religious beliefs.

    This is what you posted:-

Paul Mc GInley is a big Celtic man. I read on the blog some time ago that after that particular Ryder Cup that some guy asked for his autograph and then proceeded to tear it up. Any truth in that?

Should be great competition this year.

  4. !!Bada Bing!!

Its frustrating because any momentum that we perhaps begin to pick up gets put at a peep again, our striker wastes energy and if the opposition is starting to have a wee wobble, the pause in proceedings lets them get organised again.

The support can really start to get behind the team as well when the tempo is upped and the pressure is on the opposition but these pauses just kinda deflate the support again.

  5. Howwevvvvah, as they say:

I am an immigrant, working in Oslo.

There’s another immigrant who empties the bins in my office called Ali Rafiq.

Apart from being the very broth of a boy (gave us a big hug after we beat Barca 2-1 and an even bigger one after Legia at CP because he said I needed it) he is a qualified doctor and is fluent in 4 languages. And he’s emptying the bins – cheerfully, I might say, and without a shred of bitterness or rancour.

He’s Somalian and black; I am Scottish and white.

  10. Think there was just 1 kid at each corner flag and they were sitting on a wee stool!

Even without the multi-ball system, if there were perhaps half a dozen along each touchline then they would get the match ball back onto the pitch quickly.

The fans react to that urgency.

Its like we are pulling out all the stops then as a club and it feels like everyone gets galvanised…….the support really get vocal and the atmosphere changes.

How many times have the support rose and inspired the side with the atmosphere they create.

Simple things can make a difference and i think that would help us.

Right now we need to be doing all we can to make a difference.

Would you accept a lawyer or doctor as an immigrant if they followed Islam?

  12. There are times when you can either partake in the discussion on this blog or as many of us do lurk and read through the debates/discussions/arguments, there are also times like tonight when you read some of the posts that you really feel as if you need to take a bath to cleanse yourself from being so close to certain individuals, great credit to you folks who feel able to constructively correspond with them, I really don’t know how you have the stomach for it.

  13. Good evening friends.

The League Cup is historically more likely to throw up unexpected results but does anyone think it would be a real surprise if Falkirk (at 9/2) fail to beat Triggers Broom FC tonight?

  14. Dontbrattbakkinanger on

I’m usually reluctant to get involved in the ole p1sh stained drivel you get on here ( unless I’ve written it myself) but Muhammmed is not the most popular name for baby boys. It’s 15th.

    Noah is more popular.

Muslims are 4.4 % of the U.K population; but contrary to the opinion of some they are still human beings and like the rest of us it takes them 40 weeks to carry a child to term.
