If you want to know why this clubs is special…

The Celtic Supporters Association Rally in the Kerrydale Suite last night was a complete joy.  On the way out I remarked that the club was in good hands with the Association.  This was their 64th annual rally, over generations they have protected and cultured the unique spirit of our football club.

For me, it was the third opportunity in a week to hear the Thai Tims, who performed an excellent set.  Paul Lennon of the Good Child Foundation is a real inspiration and example to us all.

It was also a great opportunity to spend a few hours with many from the CQN community, always a treat.  I know one CQN’er who is going to think twice before digging up Tom (“get your facts right”) Boyd on the blog again, just in case our former treble winning captain reads it and goes looking for him on a night out.

To continue the spirit of what we are all about, on Saturday 19th May there is a charity dinner in Glasgow for The Andrea Kearney Fund, which supports women who are diagnosed with cancer during pregnancy.  The fund in memory of Andrea, who was diagnosed while expecting her fifth child and died in 2008, aged 41.

It promises to be a great night for an important cause, I hope you can support it.  You can book tickets here.  I look forward to seeing you there.

You can buy a hard copy of the new issue of CQN Magazine via Magcloud here.

The graphic below is just for a flick through, to read the magazine go here to it’s dedicated site.

Anyone who maintains that all they care about is Celtic and not a jot for the huns is implicitly supporting the old Firm.

  2. macanbheatha on

There’s an Irish boy and a good celtic one at that sitting in digs in St Kilda’s area of Melbourne without tuppence to his name because some f’cks won’t pay him the wages he’s due

Does any of you Oz bhoys know of a firm called ROARCON and do they have a bad reputation of paying their workers ?

as you know it’s already Sunday there so phone calls to their offices are futile , but I was hoping some of you Oz guys could give me a heads up before i phone them tomorrow night

    ST,

For me it’s simple, if they didn’t want the Hun back next season, then as EL has said they have the power to stop it.

They have issued renewal forms with the old firm games as an option, tells me they will do nothing to stop it, I mean that’s no rocket science is it ?

Some idiots can’t even scroll by after making promises, what’s that all about.

    Auldheid,

:) So I might be right in my thinking that a certain organization is setting itself up for a wee downfall of its own??

    =======================

only if it gets Politcal with capital and small p.

That means making the rules public and asking those responsible for saying SPL clubs will be licensed under UEFA FFP Licensing rules how they can grant a license without UEFA approval for an exception.

This means UEFA cannot deflect a decision on to the SFA and will have to judge the merits and cost of integrity v commercialsim. That will require a figure to be put on the price of integrity, a price that if UEFA do value it, they might be prepared to meet.

Integrity is then satisfied and SPL clubs have an “integrity parachute” to help adjust to having a fair league. I think this is a case the SFA should take to UEFA, they make millions, how much would it cost over say 3 years? This is the kind of debate that should be taking place, how to save Scottish football not Glasgow Rangers.

Think about, and if you agree ask UEFA what price integrity? Start Tweeting. I have.

  5. Fortunes Favour Mibbes,

no doubts about sfa being an enemy it always has been the fact that a man who is president and admitted to using ebt while at rangers is astonishing and yet is still

there, crazy stupid and unfit for purpose is being kind to that group of people.

    The bhoy from the village,

IMO, the board are selling us out, their motive are purely financial, there is plenty they can do to stop this but refuse to do so.

IMO they are selling us down the river, and anyone who tries emotional blackmail to force supporters to continue to support the board are hypocrites, that’s it pal, nothing more or less.

  12. Fortunes Favour Mibbes on

    Auldheid,

I’m not so sure that it need be as political as that.

There’s a massive list of misdemeanours to be considered.

It’s the best opportunity for UEFA to make an example of financial and sporting misdemeanours in a western European country that they could possibly have. This is a gift to Platini imo to pursue his own agenda and strengthen UEFA’s authority.

Sorry, meant to conclude with a reference to the other European clubs and FAs that have already complained to UEFA about the situation created by the SFA’s mismanagement.

I agree but they are placing their trust in the SFA and I think they are too close to the action to act in a statesmanlike way.

Cheers again – in danger of crossing posts here after my addendum.

But bearing that in mind…how could UEFA possibly allow a newco licence now? It’s utterly impossible for them to sanction an SFA licence for zombie fc. I don’t doubt this…my excited expectation is what actions are they going to take against the SFA when they have been found to be utterly incompetent, and potentially utterly corrupt.

    ht,

I’ve never doubted bjmacs credentials, that is not what this is about, using emotional blackmail, for me is the mark of the man.

People refusing to financially back the board is not necessarily them trying to hurt the club, but that argument is being used by IMO the exact hypocritical mindset the board wnt.

If we consider the tough action taken against Sion.

Then look at the crimes committed by the huns, and bear in mind that complaints have been logged from outwith the best wee establishment in the world.

There’s not a chance they’ll sell out for any price imo. The SFA are heading for ruin.

How many clubs did Wattenacio hold to draws in European competition, depriving them of vital points over the last 20 years?

If they can’t pay compensation for these crimes, will UEFA grant them a licence to “re-boot” while countless clubs and FAs watch on in astonishment?
