If you want to know why this clubs is special…

The Celtic Supporters Association Rally in the Kerrydale Suite last night was a complete joy.  On the way out I remarked that the club was in good hands with the Association.  This was their 64th annual rally, over generations they have protected and cultured the unique spirit of our football club.

For me, it was the third opportunity in a week to hear the Thai Tims, who performed an excellent set.  Paul Lennon of the Good Child Foundation is a real inspiration and example to us all.

It was also a great opportunity to spend a few hours with many from the CQN community, always a treat.  I know one CQN’er who is going to think twice before digging up Tom (“get your facts right”) Boyd on the blog again, just in case our former treble winning captain reads it and goes looking for him on a night out.

To continue the spirit of what we are all about, on Saturday 19th May there is a charity dinner in Glasgow for The Andrea Kearney Fund, which supports women who are diagnosed with cancer during pregnancy.  The fund in memory of Andrea, who was diagnosed while expecting her fifth child and died in 2008, aged 41.

It promises to be a great night for an important cause, I hope you can support it.  You can book tickets here.  I look forward to seeing you there.

You can buy a hard copy of the new issue of CQN Magazine via Magcloud here.

The graphic below is just for a flick through, to read the magazine go here to it’s dedicated site.

  1. Canamalar. Uefa have to know that this will effect the whole of Europe

    It will cause financial chaos

Yes they don’t really care about Scotland , but if they think that a domino affect will occur throughout Europe which will effect their cosy monopoly , Then trust me, they will step in and put this nonsense to bed

  2. canamalar

No I didn’t I got pissed off after reading the first page of this article and skipped the rest. What did he say?

    ht,

Why the f… Did you think so many people were ragin, it wasn’t just me on a crusade ffs there were a few heavy hitters, then again, who am I to expect anyone to follow a thread

  4. I recieved this from a CQN poster earlier tonight.

Hearsay I know, but it sort of confirms what JF said earlier today.

“Did you notice Cqn leader on Tuesday warning us of Huns in SPL with no sanctions. Next day it was back to pop and they’re gone. Season ticket renewals out. Coincidence? Aparently he said to my brother at CSA rally last night they are a certainty to be in SPL.

Proof if it were ever needed of sick Scotland.

    I’m gutted.”

  5. Calamari, what is your definition of ‘defeat’ to demand your ire so much to not renew your season ticket?

What would the club need to do to facilitate renewal of your season ticket?

  6. Told you bhoys

Uefa see this as a scottish problem

Until they are persuaded that this is an European problem they won’t act

Concentrate all fire power on them

Or we will end up with them getting away with it

Surely what we (ALL Celtic supporters) need is a meeting to discuss what we will do i.e bhoycott or not!

To even have a meeting is enough to show governing bodies we are serious about walking away!

Sporting integrity cannot be second to financial gain…

The Scottish game is and will continue to be a laughing stock if they get away with slinking their way back in.

Please Mr O’Rourke (CSA), P67, jeanette Finlay (CT), GB etc etc etc organise something before they act as they want to!

    ST,

As I said, I hear you, but again do you think Lawwell would have told supporters if he had not already found out from all his sources, Quinn being his most reliable i’d have thought.

JF was at the same event as you and PB and yadda yadda. It seems PL was also there. Us mere mortals are now informed (second hand and unverified as PMcG would say) that PL indicates it’s all a done deal. Still no first hand verification though. It would be fair to say that JF kicked it all off………….

  10. HT – we need a realistic threat to use, we have nothing but our freedom of choice to choose which clubs benefit from the green £.

There may come a time we need to collectively make a sacrifice to benefit our club moving forward, to maintain integrity in our game, it doesn’t mean you are stopping your support, IMO the opposite, it is an even bigger sacrifice and demonstration of support. It has nothing to do with the Huns or Kinning park and everything to do with Celtic.

The time is not now, but it could arrive soon, it will need close 100% support of people like you and me & the many others on here who go to all the games, or it won’t work. As always, I respect everyone’s right to choose, I simply hope that come the time it is recognised by club and supporters that we need to make a stand.

    See you tomorrow.

  12. Exiled Tim

Surely you are not saying the head of CQN was told what to do by Peter lawell

Shock horror. That has never happened before. Or has it ?allegedly :)))

I can confirm I have heard the same as JF from the most reliable of sources, PL has no allies among his peers, I was told even if it went to a members vote it would be 10-1. It’s all about the money…

I don’t however agree with the total over reaction from JF, CEltic should not be punished for the ills and wrongs of thems and their harem.

  15. A Celt walks I to a bar.

“Barman. Pint of lager please.” Says the Celt.

Barman pours a pint walks over to some big ugly guy at the end of the bar and gives him the pint. Big ugly guy lifts his pint holds it up to the Celt, winks and downs it in a wanny. Barman then pours a second pint, hands it to the Celt. “That’ll be £8.50 sir.” (yip. Your in BB’s but even £8.50 seems a touch pricey for a pint).

The Celt ask the Barman inquisitively. “How much is a pint?”

    “£4.25” replies the Barman.

“£4.25. You just charged me £8.50.” says the Celt.

“Aye. That’s the rules. For every pint you buy being a Celt in this bar we first serve the big ugly decker at the end of the bar a pint, serve you a pint and then charge you for both.” says the barman.

“Oh. Is that right.” says the Celt. “I’ll be having my £4.25 back then. Because I’m no buying some big ugly fecker at the end of the bar a pint for every pint I drink.”

“Well son, says the Barman. You’ll not be drinking in this bar again. No you cant get your £4.25 back. Because in this bar Glasgow the rule niw is that for every pint a bhoy or ghirl buys some big ugly hun has to get a pint on you too. That’s the rule. Like it or lump it!”

So wit is the Celt gonny day?

    Easterbunny,

I have not nor will ever tell a fellow Celtic supporter to give up their season ticket.

As for your question, I gave up my season ticket when the old firm board renewed the joint sponsorship deal.

  17. canamalar

He may be telling the truth or passing on details that he has taken in good faith, we can only surmise.

PL may have said this but is of the opinion that there is nout that Celtic can do to stop this?

  18. Scottish football my friends is as good as dead. The failure of nothing clubs like Kilmarnock etc is the focus on short term gain. It is an illusion. No-one wants to see newco fc. No-one wants to fund those who have aided and abetted newco fc.

    Scottish football RIP

I swithered whether to post that or not, I decided that, knowing who the post was from, that it merited posting.

Paul has been accused on more than one ocasion of being a mouthpiece for the board, my post won’t do anything to hinder him in any way.

If he feels that it was out of order, it will be confirmed that I was right to post it, he said it himself, it’s a dirty fight, I am not trying to demean him , no way, I am worried about the future of our club, and if some people know things, they should tell us all, or the future of the club is on a shoogly peg.

I meant Celtic fans punishing the club by not buying season tickets, like JF was advocating and you have also advocated previously if it was found out PL was to blame for not fighting this strongly enough.

Again everyone has choice, our team should not suffer at the hands of our own fans (I can see HT jumping up and down now shouting hypocrite), there is a big difference though, boycotting a couple of away games of the clubs that have shafted Scottish football, to not renewing season tickets or boycotting CP. I would be very surprised if PL & our board could have done more to stop what the authorities and othe clubs are desperate to do.

UEFA is the only way to go and the SFA should be going there to get approval to exceptionally grant a club license.

If they do, their FFP stands discredited unless they can justify such a decison. They will not give a toss unless it reaches a wider public audience outside Scotland.

If the feel so strongly about FFP why not compensate the SPL for abiding by that policy?
