If you want to know why this clubs is special…

The Celtic Supporters Association Rally in the Kerrydale Suite last night was a complete joy.  On the way out I remarked that the club was in good hands with the Association.  This was their 64th annual rally, over generations they have protected and cultured the unique spirit of our football club.

For me, it was the third opportunity in a week to hear the Thai Tims, who performed an excellent set.  Paul Lennon of the Good Child Foundation is a real inspiration and example to us all.

It was also a great opportunity to spend a few hours with many from the CQN community, always a treat.  I know one CQN’er who is going to think twice before digging up Tom (“get your facts right”) Boyd on the blog again, just in case our former treble winning captain reads it and goes looking for him on a night out.

To continue the spirit of what we are all about, on Saturday 19th May there is a charity dinner in Glasgow for The Andrea Kearney Fund, which supports women who are diagnosed with cancer during pregnancy.  The fund in memory of Andrea, who was diagnosed while expecting her fifth child and died in 2008, aged 41.

It promises to be a great night for an important cause, I hope you can support it.  You can book tickets here.  I look forward to seeing you there.

You can buy a hard copy of the new issue of CQN Magazine via Magcloud here.

The graphic below is just for a flick through, to read the magazine go here to it’s dedicated site.

TimsinOhio was trying to get in touch with you a few days ago.

He`s heading over to Sydney soon.

  2. Peter Lawwell told me that he looked in his crystal ball and…

Rangers FC were back in the SPL after a N.I. Orange Juice oligarch rode to their rescue. They won the league, qualified for the Champions League then won the big cup by a 7 -1 scoreline.

    The SNP won independence.

Campbell Ogilvie became the First Minister

    Gordon Dalziel… Foreign Secretary

    John Grieg… Minister for War

David Murray… National Business Advisor (Special Agent)

    Craig Whyte… Chancellor.

    Fernando the Commando… Health Minister

    Terry Hurlock… Tourism Minister

I think he went too far with the minister for war.

I’m as prepared as anybody to do my bit to counter a newco if all morals and rules are polluted to secure them an undeserved existence; but I really am disappointed that we are not more organised after all the time and experience we had and have.

    The bhoy from the village,

The board think they are the heart and soul of the club, they think only they should dictate what and how our money is spent.

During Mowbrey’s time, there was a serious attempt by the support by supporters to organise away bhoycotts, then Lawwell stepped in and turned the whole thing into a bloody circus, it became the roadshow.

As soon as he had the stage the bhoycott was dismissed, and here we are again in the exact same place, had the csa and cst payed attention (I for one told them to keep the board out of it as it would descend into farce) we would not be here now.

But the csa and cst preferred a free lunch and some corporate back scratching, now we are where we are.

No one takes the threat of bhoycott seriously and why should they.

The exact same thing will happen, the board will wheel out the manager again to plead that he needs the away support and the simple minded will think everything is ok again, until the next time again.

I despair that our support think they are brighter than the Hun, when they have the same attention span and the same memory retention as a chicken.

This board have treated our support appallingly over the last few years yet, there are still people who think they represent us ffs.

    ST,

That’s the key isn’t it? Am under no illusions that UEFA are some saintly saviour. They have to act on this due to the concern from other FAs and clubs.

Keep on dragging it out friend. Rules and regs are the mortar that cements any enterprise together and I cannot see how UEFA can justify not stepping in.

I was ok with SFA not blowing time up whlst D&P sought a solution but now that solution is being aired I would have expected the SFA to say such a deal is a no goer.

It is their silence on licensing that worries me. The know it is an issue. STV Grant looked into the point Friday and said a license for Newco could not be guaranteed so there is hope they will act with and for integrity.

ht, and you never turned up to the meeting because you are happy to be a victim, thats how I read that statement.

Ask Auldheid if anything I said is untrue.

  17. hamiltontim:

If the unthinkable happens I think a boycott will be part of a long war.

I would begin with bought adverts in the press explaining the dangers to society of allowing the huns free passage and in doing so inviting other teams supporters to be involved.

Free passage for the huns equates to evillity. People should understand what the promotion of that will entail.

The SFA/spl already struggle to attract sponsorship, what chance have they in the future if they seal a pact with the devil. What company with values whould pay to endorse that?

  18. Neil canamalar Lennon hunskelper extrordinaire on

The Wind That Shakes The Barley

    Robert Dwyer Joyce

I sat within the valley green, I sat me with my true love

My sad heart strove the two between, the old love and the new love

The old for her, the new that made me think on Ireland dearly

While soft the wind blew down the glen and shook the golden barley

‘Twas hard the woeful words to frame to break the ties that bound us

But harder still to bear the shame of foreign chains around us

And so I said, “The mountain glen I’ll seek at morning early

And join the bold united men, while soft winds shake the barley”

While sad I kissed away her tears, my fond arms round her flinging

The foeman’s shot burst on our ears from out the wildwood ringing

A bullet pierced my true love’s side in life’s young spring so early

And on my breast in blood she died while soft winds shook the barley

But blood for blood without remorse I’ve taken at Oulart Hollow

And laid my true love’s clay cold corpse where I full soon may follow

As round her grave I wander drear, noon, night and morning early

With breaking heart when e’er I hear the wind that shakes the barley

    Re SDM,

Heard the radio stuff with Britney earlier, where he laid the boot into Jabba. But then when on to discuss, despite their differences in recent years since the succulent lamb went off, his belief of what a nice guy SDM is. That says it all. SDM is still pulling strings. Any meeja propoganda that hails SDM as a great hun lover is diverting from the fact that he’s rotten to the core. Corrupt-land-deals.com
