Improper Registration charge for corrupting 700 games still to hit

1256

At some point today those who believed Rangers have, or should have, impunity from the law of the land, as well as the rules and regulations of Scottish football, will awaken to the realisation that this is not the case.

Soon thereafter another thought will arrive: what about the impending Improper Registration of Players charge?

Over a decade of subverting every competition they have played in.  Denying clubs who register players correctly the right to compete on a level playing field.  Grabbing prize money and the abundant financial rewards of Champions League football rightly due to others – more on this later in the week.

This charge brings every domestic and European competition they played in into disrepute and is several times the magnitude than that which Rangers were punished for yesterday.  Then consider bringing the game into disrepute by chasing football bling instead of paying taxes, a separate issue from player registration.

The toxicity of these charges is enormous and if upheld will bring punishments appropriate for corrupting over 700 football games.  A whole raft of disciplinary procedures has still to take place.  If the misdemeanours of the Craig Whyte era have caused distress, those of the old board, including Ogilvie, Johnston and the Murray twins, will soon establish Rangers current owner as a mere footnote in the club’s demise.

Show of hands, who sat on the board that spent £4m on Jelavic two years after the HMRC investigation into EBTs started?

  1. Sumdy stole the weans candy. It wasn’t so much that he was snarly & ginger. The wean is offended that the wearing of a tracksuit meant the theft lacked dignity.

Breaching Rule 66 – brining the game into disrepute

(RFC found guilty and fined £100k and a 12 month ban on signings)

The SFA Disciplinary Rule Book States 4 levels of sanction:

    Sanctions available

    Lower end = fine = £1k

    Mid-range = fine = £5k

    Top end = fine = £10k

Maximum = fine AND termination of membership = £100k + termination

    RFC received £100k fine only

We must assume therefore that in their judgement causing the greatest insolvency event ever in Scottish Football and all its concomitant effects was not seen as a bringing the game into the worst disrepute (mmmmmmmmmmm), rated as somewhere BETWEEN the TOP END and the MAXIMUM. That looks like a very slim place to me?

Q1. Should the correct sanction not have INCLUDED a termination?

  3. On season tickets, will the orcs be getting their reminders in soon with first installments in June?

Must remember not to remind any of them to cancell their direct debits or standing orders.

    Aw Naw

I think the chances of that happening are receding with every day but if it did and Celtic were unable to provide an explanation as to why they could not stop it, and “we were outvoted” would not cut it, then I see no point devoting any of my time in any form to supporting a game guaranteed to raise blood pressure with ongoing honest mistakes.

i appreciate what both you say but the fact remains according to those protocols

    I agree with that synopsis.

The question that Row Z asked above Celtic should be asking for clarification upon.

The fact that we are not indicates that we are playing the soft landing game still.

Unfortunately not, – the new road from the M74 via Dalmarnock will take you as far as

the Forge. (where Phase 2 ends)

To join the M8 we’ve to wait until 2014 and The Commonwealth Games (Phase 3)

    I think.

What we should hear about will affect the future of what’s left of Rangers.

Don’t know what time it will break but could well add to their woes and their chances, ho ho, of being rescued by a Knight Rider

  12. use are all swallownig it hook line and net. the sfa are in on this too. there is no way such draculonian sanctions would be put on the rangers if there wasnt a bigger plan. they are all in this together and the fight bak will start on sunday i bet. lennon and his team better watch out they will fight tooth and bone for the win. the adminstrotars are right. there is no way these sanctions will stand up. there is no president for it. there isnae even a chairman they will be booted out so try and remember that whilst we are laughnig just now. it is funny they dinnae have the dosh for laffertys vets bills tho hahahaha

  13. A Decade

A decade of corruption had come to an end

Cheating and lying, a real old fashioned trend

Cups and trophies retrieved from the pawn

As realisation sets in upon this new dawn

A decade of decadence, years of denial

Cheating and lying, now at last the trial

Guilty pleasures, stolen moments of joy

Now discarded and broken, an unwanted toy

A decade of absolutism, of being oppressed

Cheating and lying, might I humbly suggest

Taking your medicine, look for the cure

That Indycar racing is pure Hillbilly entertainment; they could have that at the ole death star, a kind of upmarket [but not by much] Cowdenbeath.

  15. Is anyone in an informed position to hazard a guess at the outcome of the soon to be heard appeal? Yesterday’s judgement came from the independent inquiry, whereas the appeal will be heard by the SFA.

Livibhoy, was following your situation yesterday and have no solution to what you need although many others offered some great ideas. I think you said you had to give up your season ticket? Get my e mail from Paul67 and send me your details.

Culture Minister Jeremy Hunt set to be next victim of Leveson /Murdoch,(give it an hour). I know who will get the blame though.

  19. No-one is loving the slow demise of the regime as much as me. Who truly thought we would ever see the day? However, I think we need to approach matters from the Celtic point of view. Let’s assume they are liquidated, let’s assume that any newco will enter the Scottish 3rd division. What should we be doing? Let’s be clear, despite the cup blips, the footy and opposition here is duff. With many football clubs broke does platini maintain that it is nation domestic leagues or nothing? Or is an Atlantic league scenario a possibility?

  20. Just had the SNP cadidate at the door Let him know what i thought of Salmonds interference in the Huns misadventures.Going with his response I’am not the only one who has mentioned it. at least he did not blame Neil

Season ticket will have to go unfortunatley. My mate has been using it most of this season anyway. It’s tough to miss any game but that’s just the way things are just now.
