The Record have been caught displaying their inner culture and will no doubt be forced into a remedial action, but getting caught was just misfortune. The culture exists and has informed articles for years. They have gone too far down this road to even begin to understand what they’ve done to a once-strong demographic.
An echo reached me from 2012 today, which illuminated yesterday’s article. As the SPL debated serious issues in 2012, a consensus emerged on what subsequently took place. There were hold-outs to the new majority, however.

This is what we’re up against. They are still out there, writing articles for the paying public, or voting on the future of our game.
As for the Celtic rulebook, I’ve seen it. It contains one page and only three words: “Pay your bills.” That doesn’t sound like much but remarkably, it may deliver 20-in-a-row. I hope others don’t start to copy us.

For generations we have been despised by many in this land because of the Irish roots that many of us share. Now that we have moved up in the world producing doctors, teachers, lawyers, etc., there is a view abroad that feels the only way to match our gains is to mock us and to slander us. In the past we have taken the flack and moved on. Today we have the means provided by CQN and other outlets to promote the truth and as result of being able to reach thousands of supporters; those who cannot accept the truth promote all sorts of devious plots to try to take us down.
Like many on here I have asked the question as to why the club do not hunt these people and stop allowing them to advertise around our ground. Indeed I asked that question in a letter to Celtic Park and I was given the answer that some have already eluded too on here. It is difficult to ban press outlets when the people who are sponsoring the club wish to see their company given free advertising in the form of pictures of our matches where the team’s strips are promoting the logo of some firm or other.
It is a difficult situation, but all of us can do something about the problem…stop buying the newspapers that are perpetrating lies about the club and the support. Hurt where it really hurts them. However it takes more than those of us who have stopped taking these papers years ago. We need a concerted effort from all levels of the support. Why don’t the various associations and affiliations of supporters club not asked their members to stop reading these rags? It would help if we were all on the one road.

An Ibrox fan, pretending to be a journalist, has emailed the press office at RB Leipzig. He asked if the club “would make comment for my news article regarding the Scottish Press linking RB Leipzig with Glasgow Rangers player Barrie Mackay?”
He continues by asking if they “can confirm if there is interest or talk taken place?”
