And I expect Wanyama will push up into a defensive midfield role when we are pushing ofrward, effectively making a 3-5-2. So it’s actually quite a flexible formation, which could even become 4-3-3 or 3-4-3 as and when the opportunity arises.
Sammi will be playing left midfield, as he has done quite effectively in previous games. His ability to hold the ball and fend off challenges will offer good support to the strikers and other midfielders when we are on the attack. Stokes can play on either side of the front line and is also quite effective at dropping slightly deeper, so he will keep the defense on their toes and potentially open up space for Hooper to exploit.

only change I might have was Paddy for Hooper, and stick to a 4-2-3-1 , but it is still a good enough team to beat this bunch of hammer throwers. Every week the players are good enough, every week they have to apply themselves, when they do,we win.
I hope we do not need to send on any of the boys, fine if we are 3 up with 15 minutes to go, but not before. Watch out for the leniency being sjown to the big lump Tade as he sets about Dan early doors. The exact oppsosite of the way the rules were applied to Hartson and Sutton .

Personally I would have gone with a real midfielder rather than a makeshift one. We have both Commons and McCourt on the bench and either would have been preferable to Samaras. Keep Sammy on the bench to give us an option if one of the front two has to come off.
