  1. Everyone keeps saying Twarzdik is not a left back. Where does he play as he has always played left back when he’s played… his brother was the attacking midfielder and as far as I can tell was the better player.

  2. Twistsat yankee 2nd leg 2 min to the off

    (for all us sat punters).

    or should it be TWISTSATYANKEE.:)

    Aye that’s it .

    H.H.

  3. Captain Beefheart on

We have two feasible striking options:

    The ex Hibs booze brothers.

I expect Celtic to thump Maribore but if we don’t…

  4. delighted to see a wee cameo from NegAnon, come on pal and join the party. You know you want to and the day is set up for you. Rarely if ever agree with macjay but I do agree with his point if today only serves to highlight to Ronny who he must offload, then it has been a worthwhile exercise. My only complaint about today were the half-time substitutions. I would have thought Denayer to partner O’Connell and Mulgrew at left back. Johansen into midfield and give McGregor the day off. Apart from that no complaints, no regrets its all about Tuesday.

  5. Think Ronny has a good handle on whats required.

The Wasako and Tonev signings are an indication that he was already aware that the club lacked the type of players to fit his system.

I think Derck may blossom in Ronnys system and surprise us all.

Left back and striker urgently required but wether the board backs him is the question?

Think Henderson and O’Connel both did fine but some of the experience guys let us down.

There was no movement from forwards and Mulgrews passing was dire today.

It is time to address whats lacking in the structure of our footballing operations and build a complete organization.

Wether the board offers Ronny full support on doing this is the big question?

  6. I am not going to whinge and moan about the result. In the bigger picture it means nothing.I hope Ronnie has taken a lot from it.Dylan, sorry wee man.Henderson.After the success of last year,I would send the boy on loan to Notts County, even Hibs,Hearts. He needs a season of games. With our team,he wont get that this season.Same goes for Twardzik. The boy,who was shocking today needs to step up a level.More games, more experience.O”Connel, the same.

All being said,if more proof was needed that we need a striker,it was today. We have brought in the wingers, lets get someone to finish off their work.

Always down when we dont win, cant help it,no matter the reasons or circumstances.

I was never in favour of resting the team,I thought the majority of them needed game time together, but thats Ronnies gamble.

    Roll on Tuesday.COYBIG

  7. Well , normally a Celtic defeat totally ruins my week but not this one I’m afraid and even the unbridled joy of our detractors wont alter that view ……. our manager did the right thing in my opinion and I will guarantee that our reverse today will be instantly forgotten on tuesday night as well as in the review of another title winning season HH

Remember when O’Neill sent a full strength team to Inverness and lost? remember when Strachan did the same? Remember when Lennon also followed suit? I do.

This result with a full strength team wouldn’t be surprising, so why are people allowing their knickers to get in such a twist considering circumstances and significance of Tuesday? Untwist thy knickers, untwist them I say.

its all in your above statement!

If we struggle in the Highlands with a full strength team then why on earth do you send a team of reserves?

3,4,5 changes maybe, but 10? That is either football suicide – by that I mean disrepectful to your opponents – or the actions of a manager that has no desire to perform in the SPL – I know the latter ain’t true.

Ronnie Delia is too inexperienced to be Celtic manager also, he got little or no idea of what the importance of victory is to Celtic fans – or to atleast try your best to win – & with that he got no idea of the heritage of our (once) Great Club. This guys knowledge of football management is akin to that of someone who learned their trade playing (SiGames) Football Manager.

Ronnie Delia will have my full support for aslong as he is manager of our beloved club. Iwill be at Celtic Park on tuesday night but I fear that, should we qualify for the CL, we will be in for our most embarrassing European campaigns in the clubs long & illustrious history – God, do I hope i’m wrong?!

I’m a supporter that wants his team to win every game & if we cant win every game, I atleast want us to give 100% in trying to win, anything less is totally unacceptable.

  9. In the past most of us have wanted league games postponed due to playing an important game midweek in the CL.

Maybe that was RD’s thinking on this game and why he played a second string…just an opinion.

  10. ballymenatoybhoy on

Ironic that Chris Sutton was a pundit today how we need someone like him at this time – not worth the effort to analyse todays game – RD was right with the changes on all fronts i.e. no potential injuries to key players and also sorting the men out from the boys! So LG & TP to be punted as of yesterday! AB is as good as gone but who was that guy? Oh yes he scored against Liverpool and then just the odd glimpse! AS & KC on punt watch-list all depending on how RD develops the team. But we can’t punt a guy we haven’t yet got and of course that is a big Sutton/hoodijdonk type striker! Until we get a big box-striker in it is always going to be huff and puff with the house still standing – CMcG is capable of delivering the ammo as we saw on one fleeting moment on wed nite but his delivery was scorned – JF will hopefully turn the injury corner and we know he can also deliver so get that big bad striker bhoy in NOW!! Breath of fresh air btw having a guy like RD in – new ideas – says it how it is to all and sundry – takes risks and shares all our vision of seeing the young academy bhoys shine too! Yes! the future looks shiny!

  11. Well Ronny you see what you get when you make changes, there is 5 in that team to-day who are simply not good enough, they are in my opinion. Pukki , McGeoch, Twardiz. Zaluska, Biton, and Commons, Stokes, Griffiths, if decent money comes in for them in this transfer window, take it ,and the better team won to-day.

  12. ballymenatoybhoy on

Timboy2 I think Biton will work for celtic – I observed him closely on wed nite and he had a good game, could be a player in the ultimate RD team – I already mentioned in earlier post re KC – Twardiz is a no-brainer punt, would ship McGeoch on loan, Zaluska is not such an issue with CG getting his old form back – also SB when back from injury should and will be expected to score more goals! Still need the BIG bad boy striker though!!
