Jo Inge Berget in ahead of Legia

715

As always, it’s important to get the players you want, not end up with fourth or fifth choice, so on that measure, I’m happy Ronny Deila has secured a player he knows well. Jo Inge Berget is a wide attacking player, who will fit into the manager’s high-tempo, pressing, style of play.

The deal, a loan which gives Celtic the option to sign the player permanently if he’s successful, places incentives in the right places.

Enjoyed watching the cycling this week? Why don’t you sign up for the Paradise to Cardenden Cycle, which takes place on 6 September. Details here. You’ll enjoy it, and do great things for the Foundation.

Welcome to Celtic, Jo.

Some of the excrecia that’s posted on here by, supposedly, Celtic Supporters doesn’t deserve the blog space given to them. I really worry what this blog, which was one of the finest on the planet, is coming to. How you doing kiddo?

I understood that the problem with the loan deal for the Mexican boy was that the deal did not include the option to buy

    Ronny prefers having that option.

    Good sense, I think..

TheOriginalSadiesBhoy-BT- The Club will be making plenty from the CW,they should be giving the fans a bit back for the inconvenience to many , it could backfire if 10,000 Poles turn up at Murrayfield.

    ………………………………….

Totally agree with you. There are thousands of Poles in Edinburgh and I’m sure many of them would take up the slack created by absent Celtic supporters. While thousands of our fans from all over the country make sacrifices to come to CP every other week there will be thousands also who cannot afford to go to Edinburgh and pay £20 for a ticket. The Club have been short sighted, I think.

  11. Celtic are coming off what could be called a successful pre-season and should have held onto that unbeaten run but for that penalty miss by our youths against a full strength German second tier team – they are the World Champs aren’t they. Ronny has done well so far and i think we have a pretty good settled squad particularly with Brown and Forrest to come back from injury. A strong squad providing we can keep the predators at bay from nabbing Fraser, Vyrgil and Effe that is. This new lad looks interesting and Ronny obviously sees talent there.

However, we do have a problem when it comes to putting the ball in the net. Over to you Ronny and John, a goalador urgently needed.

The persistent, puerile nonsense from one or two in particular is galling, but when good Celtic supporters buy into their lies and distortion, even offering support, truly amazes me.

No wonder they keep coming back.

Something tells me you were probably happy when we SPENT 5M on Sheidt.

Perhaps happier on the 4m forked out for Fortune?

The £300,000 on Lubo, the £650,000 on Henrik and perhaps the £50,000 on Agathe must have been uninspiring eh?

I dare say you can throw names back that were signed for next to nothing that were failures and players that cost a few bob that were brilliant signings.

Ach…..who knows how these guys can work out.

1 things for sure…..got to give em a chance and if Ronny thinks this guy is worth a jersey……i am going to be intrigued and excited to see him wearing it.

You pose some good questions, be interested in hearing Jo’s answers.

On his salary, Cardiff will be paying a percentage with us picking up the other. He will not be taking a hit in the short-term, certainly not for the period of the loan.

On Jo’s goal scoring, 17 goals in 63 games reads well. However, I fear that he is not the out and out goal scorer we crave. He is more of a Player that will provide chances for others.

Sad to see Tony a Watt go – I think we will regret letting him go.

Also sad to see Celtic’s PR machine moving into action so quickly to give us reasons for his departure ….it’s not just David Murray who spin doctors.

    On Tony’s departure

    – new manager putting his foot down, or, new manager unable to manage a problem child?

That was a very erudite and informative explanation of I.P. addresses and the tools that can be used.

I have no real idea about any of that but rely on wordpress giving me stats for my Strandsky page and on there you can see the unique ID address of the folk who leave comments and it gives you a rough ( very rough ) idea of where your viewers have come from — namely what country they are in but no more detailed than that.

As for the multiple posting issue — personally I have never understood that, however it is not a phenomena that is unique to this site as I have seen it on music sites, business sites and various other blogs. I have never understood it though.

    Weefra

I am not surprised at what you say re people in the main stand not having heard of CQN.

Many Celtic fans do not follow any kind of internet blog or source at all and we will all know fans who never go near any kind of computer.

Celtic themselves will tell you that in their estimation only 5% of Celtic fans have ever stepped foot inside Celtic park with the vast majority of Celtic Supporters throughout the world never having been there once!

I have no idea how they figure that out but I know that they had some pretty heavy analysis done through the universities some years ago and that was the conclusion that was reached by the boffins and academics.

Celtic themselves do not reach all internet fans with their website or their online releases, and many remain oblivious to what the club and fans do on the net.

There are also many people who know of CQN, read CQN and so on but who do not know about the Seville Book for example or the latest Tommy Gemmell book or that he was on the blog.

You can never assume that any particular message or article has in fact been seen on the net by all those you intended to see it and so sometimes you post the same thing time and time again just to try and make sure you get the message across.

Yeah our manager has soo much faith in him that he is a 6 month loan deal. Wow!!

When did I mention spending money, never, I actually believe most of our big name signings have been unsuccessful, Juninho, Bergovic, Jarosic, Gravesen. My point is we laud our wonderful scouting system, how we have dossiers on this player that player. All I ask is that we sign players that are better than we currently have, if that costs nothing or £2m or more then so be it.

Last summer on here folk were less than happy that we changed Kelvin Wilson for VvD, bet there is not one person that would even suggest that was a bad move now.

So c’mon Celtic find us the players that are going to make us better, you really think a 6 month loan deal is that guy?..
