Jullien, Forrest and recuperation periods

563

We are already at the stage of the season when a return of Christopher Jullien or James Forrest would have little impact on the outcome.  It will take a scheduling miracle for the Scottish Cup to reach its latter stages before club football ends to allow players to join international squads ahead of the Euros, so the news that Chris is likely to be in recuperation until the start of next season is no real hardship.

The return of James will be a welcome sight but it is hard to see any big picture relevance, no matter how brilliant he plays.  Celtic players get little time to allow limbs to rest and recuperate, this is one such period.

Sunday night in Dingwall is the very last place in Scotland’s tourist trail, apart from the Celtic squad, who will arrive looking for their sixth successive win this month.

Ross County have not played in two weeks since defeat to Dundee United, a period that has seen Hamilton collect 5 points to put the Highlanders bottom of the table.  History records that they were the team who stopped Celtic’s run of 12 consecutive domestic trophies, when they eliminated us from the League Cup during the disastrous month of November.  We owe them one.

  1. Yes An Tearmann, as apparently he has to be a troll because he has a stance, which differs to your pro Indy in one.

  2. Brentford are without the 24 league goals from striker Ivan Toney this afternoon.

The whole of their starting line-up this lunchtime have netted 22 times between them in the division this campaign.

Some illustration there of how much of a talisman Toney has been.

and to think he was very keen on joining us , and we ended up with a West Ham guy who didn’t want to come here when first approached and looks like he couldn’t care less when he is selected to play , another management balls up.

  3. Btw I’m not narrow (I don’t believe) on tge subject, there are pros and cons and it’s up to everyone to weigh them out and see where there brain takes them.

I’m pro independence but understand not everyone is however on this site some posters continually equate the independence movement with anti Catholic and anti Celtic bigotry, it’s nothing more than unionist trolling.

  5. He wasn’t being criticised for protecting Catholic schools but for association of religious bigotry with the independence movement.

Personally I don’t think religion should be taught in schools but if that’s your thing fine.

  6. Also to be fair “demonised” really? I’d stay away from posting on any blogs if you can’t take some feedback.

  7. It’s only my thing as there is a very deliberate campaign in Scotland to blame these schools for the religious bigotry that is Scotland. It further emphasises the cultural hatred and supremacist attitude towards, Catholics and those from Irish descent.

There was a law created to put more of our community behind bars just for being who they are.

It shows that there is less hope than ever of Scotland being a tolerant society, sadly.

  8. I don’t think Maths should be taught in school……..but if that’s your thing, fine.

  9. Wasn’t talking about me being demonised.

Thanks for thr suggestion, but quite comfortable posting.

The independence movement, aka the cult that is the SNP, has a long history of anti Irish Catholic bigotry, which it has never acknowledged or apologised for (unlike the Kirk), so it’s no wonder that people have concerns.

    AOW – Brilliant 😂😂😂

It would have been a different story had Peter Dinklage been the wee man ,AoW hobble to the Western

    General :O)

  12. Here’s 3 all about Goalies.

1)Who was the Celtic keeper to have his penalty saved v Airdrie 1963?

2)….and the Celtic goalie to save a penalty taken by Hamish McAlpine at Celtic Park?

    3)Same surname:

Played in Scottish cup final 1951.

The first Celtic keeper since Ronnie Simpson to play for Scotland at Wembley v england?

  13. I’m not a fan of the SNP actually, sadly the current state of Scottish politics is depressing there is a dearth of talent. I will continue to vote for the SNP as long as the other parties remain in the “cult” (p67 and Ernies fav word) of the Union.

  14. There it is again. Not snp must be a unionist.

This, is not, the only option and is frankly insulting, hardly the way to court voters……ffs

Big Jimmy, the stripper from Arbroath you mentioned….Wiz her name Frenchy? There used to be a big redhead who wore fishnets, short skirt, black and white hooped top and a beret down Byres Road way in late 80’s, early 90’s. Because of her ‘outfit’ we always called her Frenchy. 😁

Can’t remember the name of the bar. It was the last one on the right before you got to Dumbarton Road, but she was there every weekend with the same outfit on.

    ………………………..

    ART OF WAR..

No… the Burd that I went out with for a while ( The Arbroath stripper), never wore the French gear that you described anytime I was with her….In fact whenever we were together Clothing wasnt a Priority !

The only thing ” French” about her…was the Kissing.

Any outsider tips/punts worth looking at?

  18. Swansea away at Huddersfield price seems high at 6/5.

    Swans won last 5 away,

Huddersfield lost 4 and drawn 1 at home in last 5.

I remember cracking up because Roy Baines, instead of clearing quickly, stood holding the ball as MacAlpine headed back to his goal.
