Reports out of Ireland that Roy Keane is no longer in the running for the Celtic job are correct. The former Sunderland and Ipswich boss asked not to be considered as Celtic have tightened their shortlist over the past few days.
The overwhelming majority of opinion on the blog and elsewhere is that Celtic would be taking an enormous risk with Roy Keane, feedback which I know has reached the club. These decision are all risky, and there are no guarantees we will be able to do better than Roy, but I’d be prepared to take that risk.
Let me know if you would like to attend the CQN Question and Answer evening at the Manor Club, Wimbledon, on 21 June, with a confirmed line-up of Lisbon Lion, John Hughes, and our own Brogan Rogan and Auldheid, celticquicknews@gmail.com

Not really surprisin’, sadly
They have stolen the game.
bournesouprecipe,
It’s my first Android phone so I think it’s breaking ME in gently ;-)
Roy Keane was a great player. End of.
He isn’t a great man , a great coach, a football guru.
He was a great footballer. Increasingly that is not the prerequisite for great football management so he would have been a blunder if appointed and would have conveyed to me a step back to an old fashioned approach.
Of interest to me will be the impact of a new coach on the dressing room.. Those left out last year have a second chance, those who were automatic picks need to re assert themselves…
Could be good!

There will be nothing done about the corruption sadly.
I would love to be proved wrong though.

My wife has already arranged something for that night unfortunately……she thinks because the football season is over, she now has control of our social life.

My Windows Phone was so slow it gave me a news flash that Disraeli was the new Prime Minister.
If you’re going to steal patter from someone it might as well be Malcolm Tucker ;-)
Leftclicktic- although eventually even the Olympics had to sort themselves out, after Salt Lake City.
So it can be done.

What if we combined the 2 and we got our Macca singing Ebony & Ivory to those “ladies” from Bathgate?
As dear old Ron Manager used to say:

Going by the seat availability it looks like around 1/5th of the seats are still available… maybe 1/4… That isn’t too bad for this stage, however it look like the upper tier behind the goal is still closed, can anyone confirm?

There is no doubt that Celtic got caught up in the aftermath of the 1966 World Cup, as did Manchester United a year later, but to pin the blame on Alf Ramsey is taking things too far. I pointed out, on the day of the Champions League final, that the manager of Argentina back in 1966, one Jean Carlos Lorenzo, was in charge of Atletico Madrid at Celtic Park in 1974. For those of us who witnessed it, “animals” just about sums his team up.
(416-419) or is that for away support?
DBBIA
looks like another LNS enquiry
yes we investigated some of the details and ignored most of the relevant evidence and decided there is no case to answer and Sepp and his cronies are all good honest men
nothing to see here
who wants to buy the 2022 world cup? 6 million quid and its yours!
looks like PAUL knows something we don’t.
