I’m told by a broadcast journalist friend that Jim Traynor, of PR company Level5, started Newco Rangers broadcast media conference yesterday with a warning to journalists that discussion about title stripping was off limits.
The law was that if manager Mark Warburton was asked about the proposed sanction for Oldco Rangers financial doping the conference would be stopped.
Say what you like about journalists, but they regard being told what to ask, or not to ask, as a line in the sand issue. Traynor, a journalist for decades, should have known better than to make such a rookie mistake.
He was told that attempts to subvert discussion about Oldco being stripped of titles is not something that would be accommodated. By the broadcast media, anyway.
Warburton was subsequently asked about title stripping and although he was happy to answer, I’m told, this angered the would-be news-denier, whereupon he “lost his temper”.
Post-conference there was a bit of chat about how they would be able to appropriately report on less-partisan issues, like the Level5 PR-controlled Ladbrokes SPFL, although there was a consensus that “He’ll fall out with everyone soon enough. He always does”.

Hope you are loving your pathetic little told you so moment.
Itching to prove your negative miserable utterings correct.
Come up with a positive alternative strategy to our absentee Irish landlords and then you can be taken seriously.
Maybe even get the PL job you seem to think you can do ?
I am no big fan of Celtics current governance but I have no better strategy to offer. Other than focus 100% more energy into changing our playing environment.
Until that is achieved little will change. So just keep going shopping with your wives or gyming or drinking with your pals on a Saturday like you do and leave Celtic to its supporters.
Just back in.
TONYDONNELLY67 on 6TH NOVEMBER 2015 6:47 PM As long as guys from the Celtic Trust are around, you can bet that Celtic will get it in the neck every opportunity they get, and that’s a fact, as I said, not one thing about the Huns cheating us and other supporters, not a thing on that website, don’t know about anyone else, I find that freekie and strange, very strange actually. And the answer from the spokesperson there “it’s called Celtic Trust, why should we talk about other clubs”? Sais it all I suppose. Not fit for purpose, and by that I mean they don’t speak for me. –
——-
As you say, repeatedly, everyone’s entitled to an opinion. The problem is I now feel compelled to correct you when you post ill informed pish.
Firstly, the Trust don’t constantly give it to Celtic as you suggest. Recently we praised the board for the support they’d given on pushing through the safe standing issue. What we will do is hold the Plc board to account of matters which we see as important as supporters and shareholders.
This is called being objective, a trait you have absolutely no concept of.
Secondly, the Trust does not want a representative on the board, this would be more hassle than of any true value.
Finally, the Trust have never, ever claimed to speak for any other Celtic supporter other than those who are members of the Trust.
Believe it or not I’m actually trying to help by pointing out the facts. Unfortunately you’re blinded by your devotion to the board.

I got to CQN Coarner at 5.35ish, there was no one else there, a lot of the crowd got into the game late due to traffic problems.
Now can I ask or plea, that we all become more civil towards each other, we can have many disagreements on Celtic and what we think, challenge on the issues not the individual with those thoughts.
I struggle with the notion that so many Celtic fans find our current position as acceptable, we are in a major decline in my view.
Collecting poorer players, and being poorly managed at many levels
I am not liking what I am watching taking place with my Celtic, and your Celtic
Disagree and tell me why you disagree, I have no intension of falling out with fellow Celtic fans

Big Billy Simon, may perpetual light shine upon you, and may you Rest in Peace

I feel that too many of our players are automatic picks, we have a big squad we should give some of the fringe players game time and we may discover another couple of Kieran Tierneys.
Gordon is an OK Keeper but he has gone back on last years form, time to give Bailly a run. If Janko is fit I’d play him ahead of Lustig, I would still play Izzy/Tierney in alternate games, Tierney has been a revelation but he is still a kid, we need to protect him
I would never ever have Blackett in the squad again, Efe & Boyata first choice central back partnership, until Jozo or Charlie return.
Midfield if Scott Allan is fit play him, I’m still backing Bitton & Rogic and of course Brooney but Joe & the Dundee trio are not doing it for me.
Up front, I’d love to see Stokes getting a run but being realistic that is not going to happen so its Griff & Cole for me with Nesbitt on the bench and getting a run if and when a game is in the bag..
Burnley
Yep
You got it right. I hope ronny is in charge for ever. It’s great fun watching us being stuffed by mid table norwegian teams.

We had an all too brief chat when we met recently in Glasgow.
Hope I can put these matters to you for your consideration.
My problem is not with any single issue which the Celtic Trust put forward.
My problem is with the very concept of an organisation which has it`s own political bent and which uses our Club to get it`s political message across.
Of essence that is something which divides our support whereas ,imho, what our Club requires is unity amongst our support.Of course there will always be differences of political and other opinions.
As a matter of principle, would you support the right of an organisation with different political opinions to those espoused by the Celtic Trust,to be formed?
For example a right wing organisation with views which conflict with those we would reasonably associate with the C.T. ie.left wing/socialist.
Would you support that right?
Cheerching. 8))

Really sorry for your loss.

You swung past the Gazebo at some pace last night, just missed you, maybe next time.
It’s good that the Celtic fans still take Ronny seriously

I’m assuming (maybe wrong as usual ) that the trust are shareholders and are therefore as entitled to you or I to ask questions of our board
We know we as shareholders have no meaningful say as DD has it all sewn up but are we or they not allowed to question ?
I think we should have two CQN blogs also.
One for tbe devout and one for tbe agnostic.
The devout cannot change their stance. Their beliefs have been written for them. There is no scope for debate. Your in or your out.
With tbe agnostic you have more lprospect of civilised debate due to not treading on those rigid belief systems.
