Ladbrokes SPFL-PR warning media to stop title stripping talk

1623

I’m told by a broadcast journalist friend that Jim Traynor, of PR company Level5, started Newco Rangers broadcast media conference yesterday with a warning to journalists that discussion about title stripping was off limits.

The law was that if manager Mark Warburton was asked about the proposed sanction for Oldco Rangers financial doping the conference would be stopped.

Say what you like about journalists, but they regard being told what to ask, or not to ask, as a line in the sand issue. Traynor, a journalist for decades, should have known better than to make such a rookie mistake.

He was told that attempts to subvert discussion about Oldco being stripped of titles is not something that would be accommodated. By the broadcast media, anyway.

Warburton was subsequently asked about title stripping and although he was happy to answer, I’m told, this angered the would-be news-denier, whereupon he “lost his temper”.

Post-conference there was a bit of chat about how they would be able to appropriately report on less-partisan issues, like the Level5 PR-controlled Ladbrokes SPFL, although there was a consensus that “He’ll fall out with everyone soon enough. He always does”.

    The peepil have no money.

No point in pursuing anything down that path.

    My wish list is:

    1. The perpetrators jailed.

    2. Ibrox ownership by the government to see as they do fit.

    3. 21 titles rescinded.

    4. The SFA dismantled.

    5. Verification that there is no New Firm.

Of course none of this will happen. Celtic’s custodians will remain silent hoping that none of this will happen. Meet the New Firm same as the Old Firm.

We had an all too brief chat when we met recently in Glasgow.

Hope I can put these matters to you for your consideration.

My problem is not with any single issue which the Celtic Trust put forward.

My problem is with the very concept of an organisation which has it`s own political bent and which uses our Club to get it`s political message across.

Of essence that is something which divides our support whereas ,imho, what our Club requires is unity amongst our support.Of course there will always be differences of political and other opinions.

As a matter of principle, would you support the right of an organisation with different political opinions to those espoused by the Celtic Trust,to be formed?

For example a right wing organisation with views which conflict with those we would reasonably associate with the C.T. ie.left wing/socialist.

    Would you support that right?

    ——

    Good evening Macjay.

Firstly, I need to bang on the head this notion that the Trust is in any way politically motivated or aligned. I sit on the committee and know the political allegiances of one other member and that’s because I have been involved with this member on other issues.

We discuss Celtic, that’s it. We don’t mention politics and certainly no other football team.

If there was a desire amongst the Celtic support to set up some sort of right wing grouping it would only be contradictory to the feelings of, what I consider, to be the views of most of the Celtic support.

I’m assuming (maybe wrong as usual ) that the trust are shareholders and are therefore as entitled to you or I to ask questions of our board

We know we as shareholders have no meaningful say as DD has it all sewn up but are we or they not allowed to question ?

    ================================================================================

    No problem whatsoever with that.

My problem is with the divisive nature of the organisation.

Of course, the Board need to be brought to account .

Particularly in our current parlous state.

  6. It’s quite simple what needs to happen to force SFA and SPFL take appropriate action in light of CoS judgement: get organised!

    1. All supporters clubs (minus 1 obvious one) join together in a class action against the SFA in light of it’s complicit involvement in both the running of the illegal tax scheme and in the active failure to apply appropriate sanctions according to it’s own rules.

    2. Act in coordination. Make it abundantly clear to all clubs that you mean business. Demand that every RFCil game in which any EBT recipient played in MUST be recorded as a 0-3 loss and every title won be awarded to the runner up, all record books amended accordingly and medals awarded accordingly. Make it clear that unless rules and punishments are rigorously applied no season tickets will be purchased next season. To emphasise how seriously the fans are, do not attend games.

If the SFA does not cleanse itself, there is simply no point in their existence and the game itself is worthless.

There is no actual choice here. This is massive, deliberate and organised deception, specifically designed to bring success to RFCil; specifically designed to give them increased bargaining power in the player trading market.

These actions MUST be publicly condemned by the SFA and SPFL without any ambiguity. There must be no doubt whatsoever that these events have been the most serious rules breaches in the history of Scottish football and all involved must be punished accordingly.

  12. Hi folks

Rarely post nowadays because I usually seem to end up annoying the majority.

I never post to argue, fight with, nor annoy anybody.

Let’s see how this goes :-

Opinions, opinions, opinions. We all have them, we all believe in them, but they vary so much that we can’t all be right. All that means is that we can disagree without feeling the need to offend each other.

Follow Celtic on News Now and read headlines often without following the link (not really interested in the usual comments from our “no best friends”).

One recent headline caught my attention that RD want’s more time to turn things around.

    1. Why do you deserve more time?

    2. Do you have any idea what is required to turn things around? More of the same is not the answer and you have never intimated that an alternative is an option.

Now I am looking for help, I can only express my own opinions and there are many on here who are better informed and qualified to judge, so tell me where I am going wrong (without being offensive).

I’m 73 years old and have watched and enjoyed football for most of that time.

I am not qualified, nor competent, to manage a team at any level, but have seen enough to appreciate both good and winning football when I see it (not always at the same time).

RD notes sign of improvement in the team – so have I in the past year in their ability to adapt to your one -trick pony style of play.

I have seen no sign of improvement if the extent of comparison extends beyond your arrival.

Every man and his dug knows your style of play, you never tire of reminding the world.

Our opponents are neither stupid nor incompetent so they set out to negate it, with some success in the SPL (who mostly just want to stop us and more and more make it hard for us because of your predictability) and in Europe at any level They don’t set out their stall to hinder us, they do it to beat us. They need to win, they want to win and you ensure that they know how to win.

MON, WGS and NL were winners and pragmatists (and so was Big Jock).

Have read several reports about your conversations with individual players about what they had to do to get game time. Several have responded -none of them has said he has become a better player – just I got a place in the first team.

Tactics and formations come and go but the basics remain.

There is and has always been more tha one style to play football – history shows that. History proves that just as evolution proves that one style does not fit all.

Ronny – ignore everthing I have said above.

Your way is the only way to world domination.

Do you have a sqad of players who are suited to your vision or can you modify your vision to best make use of the players available?

There are many on here who are more knowledgeable than I.

No abuse please, if I’m wrong. don’t just tell me – explain please.

    Regards

    Alex

The Bunnet could not have done what he done without us. He bought into our utopian dream ..never forget it. Unfortunately for Fergus he was up against the corruption that brought about the banking crisis. Fergus being Fergus was smart enough to realise this and had to bring billionaires on board and make a tidy wee profit. So yet again Murray stiffened us.

Time to get it back on track I say.

    With or without tbe billionaires.

I dont mind one way or tbe other if they are Celtic men. If they are parasites they will not clear out the malaise that Scottish football is.

    I’m taking Ronny serious.

    Seriously worried.

I seriously expected Celtic to make amends for a drubbing in Norway.

Instead I witnessed a fragile team of very richly rewarded football players representing Celtic who were out played by a better coached and organised team with a fraction of our turnover.

From the top of the tree down to the manager there is failure on an escalating scale.

    Fitba is a simple game.
