Languishing in Paris

710

When watching Real Mardrid, Barcelona or Bayern Munich it is easy to be discouraged at the gap between where we are and the quarter finals of the Champions League, but despite the many hundreds of millions spent on both Paris St Germain and Chelsea, the standard of passing and decision making throughout their game last night was abysmal.   Despite their win, PSG were the worst offenders last night, even the Great One was poor.

There is now a real prospect that no English side will make it to the semi-final stage of either European tournament for the first time since 2003, when Liverpool were last to drop out, at the quarter finals stage of the Uefa Cup……..  You’re welcome.

What struck me most watching last night’s game was Sky TV’s Gary Neville pondering how long PSG’s star players would languish in such a poor league.  This is the French league we’re talking about here, not the Scottish Premiership, it’s Paris, not the ‘New East End’!

It’s easy to mock Neville but he asks an interesting question, will players always migrate to a higher-profile league?  If so, there are more clubs than just Celtic in need of structural change.

At every stage of tackling SFA corruption over the last three years, without doubt the biggest hurdle to overcome has been fan apathy. Canamalar’s Resolution is a good example. More effort was put into posting doubts about how successful it could be than giving it the required support.

Putting pressure on the SFA via sponsors IMO should have been done long ago. Now we have an opportunity to put pressure on the SFA from spreading this letter to as many people as possible. That is what you can and should do. To re- post it in the boards, blogs and social network site that you post in is an easy task. Please do that.

I must be one of the few people on the planet who can celebrate my birthday on Monday, Thatcher’s death on Tuesday and my wedding anniversary on Wednesday. Though I’m not sure I should be celebrating one of those events ;-)

Lennybhoy, I’ve responded to your request. Yes me and Mrs Pog are fine, we are going down to Cochem, in the Mosel, for a long weekend. We like it down there. I’ve sorted out Saturday night as there is some live music at the local Irish pub, the group is called ‘The Drunken Lullabies’ should be entertaining. I’ll take my IPad and make sure I get the coupon on for Saturday.

You’re not seriously suggesting that Erdogon was right?

If you are then that’s your opinion which I respect as I respect the opinion of all good Celtic supporters. We’re tolerant and welcome all – apart from those that express their opinions in profanities.

The SFA have always been scrounging technocrats Pavlovian conditioned not to bite the hand that feeds them. After 140 years of Pavhunnian servility they have no other paradigm other than the rise of Sevco. CO is their soothing symbol of what’s to return. CO will be around until the deid are deid and the hum pension plan is dismantled. Why PL participates in such hunnery to me is a sign of no hope.
