League pivots south, not quite Atlantic League

635

Back-to-back away games are statistically more likely to result in points being dropped than any other games (especially if one is a European game), so the probability of Aberdeen dropping points in Inverness last night was high. Their second night-game in the same week, on Friday at Firhill, will also be a genuine challenge.  I can’t find enough occurrences of a team having two away games in the same midweek to draw any statistical inference but I’m glad it’s Aberdeen’s lot, not Celtic’s.

That result felt profound.  Celtic can use the opportunity of a quiet week to prep for the visit of Inverness. A Highland double would go a long way towards the title.

On the “Atlantic League” story, little detail has been reported on what’s happened (ignore what has been reported) and where it’s heading.  The project is not at a mature stage yet, it’s not an Atlantic League, it’s not a collaboration of clubs from small nations, and no lower league clubs, anywhere, have been involved.  Apart from that, the story’s fine.

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has kicked the sleeping dog.  We’ll see where he barks.

Time is running out for you to register for the Celtic Park Zip Slide, in aid of the Foundation, which takes place next month.  I did it last year and it was genuinely exhilarating.  Go here and register.

I’m quite sure you’re right, but thankfully I have no idea what the radio shows say as I never tune in ..or ever will.

They couldn’t care one jot about our club, and I return that sentiment.

I totally agree, and i’m amongst Radio Scotland’s biggest critics, but i hope someone can post the interview from Kaye Adams ,from about 10.10am.Very emotional from Jay’s dad,and well done to CFC and the Celtic Foundation for being a huge help to the Beatty family.

Just caught your post, thanks for that – Pires showing the non-smart way of doing that – thanks.

BTW: Noticed there has been some more comments about the annoying pop-ups.

Now it could be just my imagination but was there or was there not, total silence on this subject when the aul’ Ann Summers ads were poping-out;)

The beauty of Cadder is that it is a small scheme, unlike all the other sprawling estates.

    You got Anne Summers ads?

    I feel like a second-class citizen now…

  9. For me Mulgrew’s time is up. I would also put Ambrose, Stokes, Scepovic, Cole, Ciftci, Izaguirre and Boerrigter into that category.

I wonder what we could get for Ambrose, Scepovic, Izaguirre and Ciftci (4-5m?). Scepovic has 4 goals in La Liga this season. If he ends up with 6 or 7 could we get 1.5m for him? We all tend to ridicule Ambrose a bit but he does have 47 caps for Nigeria, has won an African Nations cup, played CB for us in our Barcelona win etc. Especially with the money in China now and English Championship we could possibly get 2m for him. We got 1.5m for Hooiveld a few years ago and Ambrose is far better than him.

Need to use the money on a striker, right back (to compete with Lustig), left back (to compete with KT) or defensive midfielder. I would take 2 quality additions.

Janko would be able to play on Saturday. The manager will want to stick with Lustig for now.

Expect Janko to play a couple of development games.

  15. Michael Stewart says that Willie Column, got it wrong up in Inverness, ok fair enough well what did he say about the blaten hand ball at Hampden in the Cup Final against Inverness Caley, can’t remember the name of the Referee I’m sure there wasn’t much halabahoo when that ref made a huge mistake. Tell you another thing the S F A need to employ Referees who are impartial, if it’s true that Bobby Madden is a sevco.,season ticket holder, then he should not be in charge of refereeing Sevco Football Matches. just the same if they have leanings towards Celtic, they shouldn’t referee the game by the way I like Michael Stewart he would be a good P R appointment for Celtic.
