League pivots south, not quite Atlantic League

635

Back-to-back away games are statistically more likely to result in points being dropped than any other games (especially if one is a European game), so the probability of Aberdeen dropping points in Inverness last night was high. Their second night-game in the same week, on Friday at Firhill, will also be a genuine challenge.  I can’t find enough occurrences of a team having two away games in the same midweek to draw any statistical inference but I’m glad it’s Aberdeen’s lot, not Celtic’s.

That result felt profound.  Celtic can use the opportunity of a quiet week to prep for the visit of Inverness. A Highland double would go a long way towards the title.

On the “Atlantic League” story, little detail has been reported on what’s happened (ignore what has been reported) and where it’s heading.  The project is not at a mature stage yet, it’s not an Atlantic League, it’s not a collaboration of clubs from small nations, and no lower league clubs, anywhere, have been involved.  Apart from that, the story’s fine.

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has kicked the sleeping dog.  We’ll see where he barks.

Time is running out for you to register for the Celtic Park Zip Slide, in aid of the Foundation, which takes place next month.  I did it last year and it was genuinely exhilarating.  Go here and register.

ROY CROPPIE: Not at all rhetorical. I was reading SSN (no sound wife watching tv) and ‘saw’ Waghorn 3 mins on the sky go on iPad then read here it was a penalty. Another question not rhetorical , is it correct that Sevco have not had a pen. since last game refereed by Bro. Madden. Golf tomorrow so good ammo for windup.

    The Green Man,

Sorry, I have never heard of the Magdalene Institute.

I was born in a tenement flat, above the Tabernacle at St.Georges Cross.

Left there in 1953 for Skirsa St. In Cadder, where I stayed until I got married in 1970 and moved to East Kilbride.

Christ has been attacked from Institutions and organised places since He gave Everyone the Gift he gave. Now you don’t believe in him, fair dos.

Just pointing out that the Gnostics, those that Believe that God is not Good and Satan was freeing Mankind, they have a deep hatred of Jesus Christ and they have since he died. I blame the mystic schools.

    TGM,

I was up there a couple of years ago and the place is looking very well, with our old flats having been renovated and upgraded.

The beauty of Cadder is that it is a small scheme, unlike all the other sprawling estates.

    I loved it.

Im trying to write about the local area.

Im familiar with the usual historical sources…but im trying to do something different from the general stuff you get in the library.

A sort of mega local political and social history.

Strangely… what ive found while researching this theme….is a lot of holes in the official narratives.

I would imagine a local historian is best suited to the task.

    I am that man:)

Love social history. Much better than the crap we were fed in Saint Tams. My dad, God rest him, was ejected at a parents night at Saints Tams for telling my history teacher that the battle of Hastings and tales about the royal family was crap education. He wanted me and my peers to be taught about the 1745 rebellion and the1916 Easter rising. God rest Robert. :)
