Just out of curiosity, when was the last time you gave your 100% backing to a Celtic board, manager or team?

    Thanks.

Just off the phone to my brother and he told me they aren’t and haven’t been using Celtic park since the opening ceremony.

If that is correct I really have to question the logic of this Murrayfield thing.

A lot of fans cannot afford it to go there.

Make judgements after a reasonable time.

WGS had Armenia, we had Karagandy last year, NFL had a few stinkers and even

Mon had a lost 5 goals at iPox.

    Celtic recovered from them all.

The last thing we need now is everyone having a go. We all need to do what good celtic supporters do. Get behind the team and manager.

As Martin42 always says, stand up for the champions.

What must stokes/griffiths be thinkin watchin a Cardiff reserve player signing yday and walking straight into team before them?

Forster, VVD, stokes, Matthews, ambrose, commons. I’d say first 2 will be sold, the latter 3 will want to leave!

Major rebuilding job ahead. Ffs our reserve goalkeeper was criticising the club in the press yday!

Hurt and angry we never build or strengthen or push the boat out to improve. 2 days off work next week for a 24hr return trip over to murrayfield to watch that muck.

In the flip side it’s probly a blessing we dont get into CL. That team would be humiliated 5 or 6 each match.

  7. derbyshirebhoy on

When I said earlier in the week I was relaxed it was because we were going into this with a settled team who were capable of disciplined professional performances. Instead the shirkers who believe their own press came out en masse. to embarrass us all

Easy to blame the manager but it wasn’t he who lost a lead after two minutes of gaining it. At that point the crowd were silent till Charlie presented them with his first gift of the night. If Ronny has made one mistake its in making Mulgrew captain.

Like you all I’m not happy but will look forward to some pride restored next week.

Let’s hope Spurs have an off day!!

We signed 9 players last season, I know you didn’t know that from reading the drivel you normally post on here, but that is the reality. The quality is up for debate, but the money was spent.

Ernie, would a new owner not want the money from Sevco too?

A new owner may be more profit orientated?

We know the devil, why invite his bad brother?

    More profit orientated.

    I doubt it.

If we do not get CL football this season the financial position of the club will weaken.

Why should the support stump up the best part of £50mill if We are being run as a cash cow / savings scheme?

Not only that — we are being badly run as a cash cow / savings scheme.

We are being run as if the main shareholder wants to sell up.

  18. What a terrible performance. Ronny’s team selection and tactics were bizarre.

However, the players on the park need to have a look at themselves. They didn’t turn up at all.

So now we get the gloating mineshafters and board haters and hun infiltrators filling their boots tonight. Make the most of it while you can, gobshites. Celtic will come back.

Hope their hat trick man gets a very bad bout of the flu!! And our “defence” will be wishing that as well!!

  22. NegAnon2 – we’ll never have the quality we need to show up well in the CL with a sustainable spend. That’s the issue.

We now operate in a time when Ross McCormack can command an £11M transfer. Now while we can and should avoid the English market as much as possible, although I’d take another Kris Commons level player for £300k, those inflated prices do trickle down to the other countries. Why shouldn’t they?

Some are talking about us needing 4 players. Even if it’s two and RD (or NL for that matter) had been given £10M+ to spend and they’d gone on a striker and midfielder (after all last season was one of the best defences we’ve had in a long time). Would that necessarily have avoided tonight’s defeat? Who knows, maybe. I wouldn’t bank on it. It certainly wouldn’t guaranteed any success in the CL.

The much talked about “£6M player” will not be of the level to bums on seats either or pay for themselves in jersey sales.

We are where we are, and where we are is likely to be in the Europa League (although I remain hopeful for next week). What’s shocking about that is EL group stages won’t allow us to break even. I think potentially it doesn’t now put us towards profit unless we make the Semis (or possibly even the final – revenues being roughly 1/6 of those in the CL).

I’m not sure what the solution is now. I don’t know if getting rid of PL for a cheaper option is it. It might be. However imagine it can, and did get worse. Where would we be then?

it took over 4 weeks to get celtic park ready inside, it is going to take at least that again to remove and make good, then we have to relay a new pitch, heard a few days ago we might need to leave the 1st game even later.

  27. Had high hopes for Ronny tonight as I thought he spoke quite well about his style of play and the type of players he needed to play that style. Unfortunately he set himself up to fail.

Mathews at left back, Bergets starting from nowhere, Mulgrew and Commons were far to slow for this pace of game and kept giving the ball to the opposition.

Efe sent off (after a nightmare) he plays Kayal with Commons upfront. He should have set up the team to hold at 2-1. Totally disorganized in second half and it would be interesting to hear about John Collins contribution (like him incidentally) as he needs to make his voice heard about tactical formation.

  30. Brogan Rogan Trevino and Hogan supports Oscar Knox, MacKenzie Furniss and anyone else who fights Neuroblastoma on

    Guys,

On the Celtic Park front they are still dismantling all the stuff for the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony both inside and outside the stadium and it will take another couple of weeks to get the stadium back.

On a more positive note, if we go into the game at Murrayfield and score as quickly as we did tonight, we are in with a shout if the players we have revert to their normal skill and professionalism levels.

The big test for Ronnie and JC is how we lift those players and rebuild their confidence.

That is the biggest thing because everyone in that squad tonight will know that they were awful and effectively beat themselves.

That is both a bad thing and a good one.

If you rebuild their belief and have them execute that belief successfully in the first ten to fifteen minutes then Celtic will appear a different team to the one tonight.

If you don’t rebuild their confidence and they play like they did tonight then they will lose — and if they lose they will go down further in terms of confidence and belief.

That is what the management have to sort.

As for being at the start of the cycle again, that may be true but if you believe that then surely you work to keep your best players so that they are in situ to push you further into the cycle and to help recovery quicker than before?

That is the job of the board.

  31. JimmyQuinnsBits on

    Ernie,

    I seriously don’t get it

What would a new owner bring; what vision?

I’m no fan of a PLC board in hock to a rich spiv, but the constraints would be the same. We don’t have access to the big league TV money – end of. And the “old firm” thing with the new club – we need more than a couple of million to make a difference, we need a gear change that’s impossible in the current setup.
