Let King get on with his work!

329

The SFA may well find Dave King not Fit and Proper to be a director of a football club but, if it happens, it will only be a token gesture.  King would be forced to resign as a director of Newco, but he would remain the major shareholder.

There is nothing to stop him activing as a shadow director – exercising all the power but without the legal liabilities.  There is nothing to stop him attending board meetings, or from appointing his own placemen on the board.  Football’s Fit and Proper test is no more than a token curiosity, it is not worthy of the column inches it is regularly attributed.

Newco will remain a basket case as long as King remains in control, as director or otherwise.  There is a chance this will change when he leaves, but no more than that.  For me, anything that inhibits his ability to remain in control is unwelcome.  Never interrupt your enemy when he’s making mistakes, as Napoleon almost said.  Let the man get on with his work!

  1. Greenpinata, I agree totally with you about the lack of knowledge re. Res 12. I would suspect that few of the 200 odd members that travel with my club know much about the Resolution. Is it too late for more publicity about the issue before the AGM?

Paul has been the subject of a few unnecessary remarks on here. If you knew Paul you would be aware of the very decent person he is. Perhaps he does not respond to issues raised because he wishes others to be free to state their take on various matters.

  2. Thank feck BADA thought i was in a dream Celtic blog there

where only i posted and nobody criticised lol.

200 members travel with your club, and if i remember correctly from Ireland.

Now thats the type of post i personally love to hear about, total commitment

from Celtic people far and wide.

Why do we bother moaning about silly stuff, lets hear more from everybody

about their love for the club and their efforts to just be there to support the

    bhoys.

It crossed my mind reading back over the previous thread that, if I post less often now, it’s probably because I have less to say these days. I expect a number of other fholk are similarly minded.

That said, I’d be best pleased if Winningemmell would post a wee reprise of his wasp-hunting adventures, and Philvis were to conjure a podium from thin air.

On the topic of Dave King and Newco and Fit and Proper, I cannot imagine a more fitting or proper person to run that mob. The glib, shameless, lying, tax-evading criminal, now shunned by the City of London, is a perfect match for Newco. Plainly, the SFA agree.

  6. If you had just tuned into the Irish Ruggy match and were told a team was a man down from the first half you could be forgiven in thinking it was Samoa

    Impressive stuff from the Irish.

All good after a hun free day…again, actually beginning to

miss them, thought they would be out with their bluster, top

bullies need backers, doesn’t happen here.

    – You must get right pissed off with folk on the blog slagging you off, Paul.

    – Nah, it’s water off a duck’s back now.

    – Fair play to you.

    – You know, the funny thing is, you get these guys who vent their spleen at me on the blog, calling me out for all manner of conspiracy and hypocrisy and what not, and I bump into them on the Saturday at the game or at one of the charity functions, and they’re like “Hey Paul, good to see you”. In all my time, no one has had the courtesy to make their point to my face.

  9. Congrats Mick.

    Keep up the Good Work.

I love to hear anything about the Celtic dressing Room. Thats where its at.

Deeeeelighted noone knows the team now until it is announced.

    That done my head in.

  10. Before going to play golf today, I saw some posters commending a TBB post. I started reading it but had to rush off and now I cannot find it. Anyone?

  11. TBB,

Paul has given us All a platform.

    He owes Nobody anything.

Thank you for explaining Paul’s thoughts it’s much appreciated.

Hopefully the guys who(ve) vented their Spleen have been banned.

  13. I used to like the fact that both the best Maraton runners in the world and myself were in the same category ie we ran the distance in under three hours. Now, Mr Kipchoge has ensured that I can longer bracket my time with that of the greats. That my time was three and a half minutes under three hours compared with the 59 minutes under for the greats is neither here nor there. Sub – three was sub-three. Now it is immaterial.

    Shame on you Kipchoge.

  14. THat’s some running, Hot Smoked. I managed 2 marathons in, I think, 1984 and 1985 with times of 3.31 then 3.16. Now I puff my way round a 3K parkrun hoping to beat 23 minutes. Today I managed that target and my results email tells me “Congratulations on completing your 209th parkrun and your 124th at Strathclyde parkrun today. You finished in 42nd place and were the 37th male out of a field of 270 parkrunners and you came 4th in your age category VM55-59. Take a look at this week’s full set of results on our website. Your PB at Strathclyde parkrun remains 00:20:08. Your best time this year remains 00:22:22.”

Of course, it’s the taking part that counts.

But the next morning you couldn’y beat a retreat lol.

  16. Well Ireland are in the quarter final with very little problems today. Sincerely hope Scotland at least get the chance to join them tomorrow.

  17. Corkcelt

Even if the game goes ahead, I think Scotland would need to beat Japan and score four tries to go through ( as well as stopping Japan scoring four tries). I would make Japan strong favourites to qualify.

  18. Aff in. I normally don’t watch International qualifiers unless Scotland are playing. But I think I’ll tune in shortly to Georgia v Ireland. A £1 “just for the interest” bet placed on there being at least 3 goals, 4 cards, 9 corners, a red card and, oh, Ireland to win. 33/1 (so, really little chance!).

  19. Running to me is so much like hard work, if there is a ba’ there then thats ok.

Jobo you know my surname, James when he is over from Switzerland likes to do times on an app, he is insane and does specific set runs.

You and Dandy & hot smoked (my Dad is cycling mad and he is nearly 80) would get on like a house on fire talking about exercises that dinnae do it for me.

The Dewhurst Stakes, 3.30pm Newmarket, should be a good watch today. Can this year’s two year-old wonder horse Pinatubo continue its run to fame and glory in future Classics?

Nowadays, the definition of a wonder horse colt seems to be – I wonder if there can be another Frankel?

Last month many Grades below the Dewhurst, round a small track somewhere in France a two year-old my niece brought into the world won a maiden mile. He went on to place 3rd in a follow up. The thrill of the win never gets old whatever the sport.

  21. Jim, Scotland are 4 points behind, if they beat Japan by more than 7 points they will finish level on points and will go through on head to head.

Main thing is win game & prevent Japan getting bonus point.

Scotland don’t need a bonus point unless Japan get one.

  22. Ireland almost take the lead after 3 minutes against Georgia. A header hits the post with Keeper totally beaten.

  23. Re the egg chasing, you can’t put a team out of a competition due to bad weather……..what happens if the final is off because of rain, do both teams share the Cup? Nonsense….

“200 members travel with your club, and if i remember correctly from Ireland.”

    ———————————————————————————————————————–

If Connaire is,who I think he is, then the bus is not from Ireland.

That apart he is correct that the level of understanding of Res 12 is scant within, I reckon, 90% of the fans, many of whom are Daily Record phone in devotees and believe all the nonsense.

In fact I would go as far as say that the lack of direction from our Board,to have all of the wrongs righted, has contributed to this ignorance, and lends credence to those who say Celtic have mixed feelings about pursuing the topic of title stripping and taking the SFA to task.

Well they have their wish now,if induced excitement was the requirement,as we inexplicably surrendered 5 points and put our rivals top.

Overall, both on and off the park, this is not acceptable, which is the reason I have submitted my share info as part of the debate at the coming AGM.

  25. I have been in Paul67’s company a few times. A fine Celtic supporter and man, imo. He certainly does not deserve some of the nonsense written about him on his own blog earlier today.

I don’t know how long he has given us CQN but I have been reading it (almost daily) for 11 or 12 years. I began in Salford, where I was exiled at the time. It was great to read so much positive stuff about my team, as the English media hardly ever gave them even a mention.

Thank you, Paul67, for your creation. Like others, I would love it if people like DBBIA were to entertain us once again.

There was a time when running was like a drug to me, when i worked

offshore i had to find a way to release this pent up energy.

An oil rig isn’t exactly a place for marathon running but it could take you

ten minutes to walk round the bigger ones.

So needs must, quiet times, down to the spider deck, thats the steel gratings

nearest the water, just me underneath a whole thriving industry of machinery and

    industrial moneymaking monstrosity

Half an hour laps, round and round, completely quiet with all that money

making mayhem going on above, and there was me and a few little migrant

birds of wonderful colour following me round my north sea course.

Whether they thought i was a fellow migrant i don’t know but when i ran

they flew, when i stopped they landed on the handrails.

Maybe that was the only time i became a true leader.

  29. Melbourne Mick and ExCathedra44, I would never deny my Irish roots and in fact having an Irish Passport I am a citizen of the country. But I was born in Crosshill Street, Lennoxtown and live in Greenock. I travel with one of the largest Celtic Supporters Clubs in the country.
