The SFA may well find Dave King not Fit and Proper to be a director of a football club but, if it happens, it will only be a token gesture. King would be forced to resign as a director of Newco, but he would remain the major shareholder.
There is nothing to stop him activing as a shadow director – exercising all the power but without the legal liabilities. There is nothing to stop him attending board meetings, or from appointing his own placemen on the board. Football’s Fit and Proper test is no more than a token curiosity, it is not worthy of the column inches it is regularly attributed.
Newco will remain a basket case as long as King remains in control, as director or otherwise. There is a chance this will change when he leaves, but no more than that. For me, anything that inhibits his ability to remain in control is unwelcome. Never interrupt your enemy when he’s making mistakes, as Napoleon almost said. Let the man get on with his work!

Good morning CQN from another gloriously sunny day on the shores of the Adriatic, here in Croatia. Quiet day planned today after yesterday’s industrious sightseeing day. Going to check out Cavtat, the town/village where we are staying, and find somewhere nice o eat later. We rented an “Apartment” (one bedroom/kitchenette and a bathroom, that is a short walk up from the wee port, and the view from our balcony is amazing, looking up the Dalmatian Coast towards Dubrovnik, where we were yesterday. It really is a Paradise here. “Hip” CQNers May be amused, as I was, by some strong smelling skunk growing at the side of the road, about 50 metres from our apartment. I am still planning what, if anything, to do about that 😇

TT – good morning bud, the huns sit top because they were provided with partial decision-making by SFA-funded hun/ ABC supporters that allowed them to take points from games they wouldn’t necessarily have been able to if ability had been the deciding factors.
Similarly Celtic being denied points as a result of game-changing decisions by the same SFA funded supporters has resulted in thehorribly manipulated “League” table we see before us.
That’s something we should all be angry about.

Only 5 more sleeps till we have the opportunity of returning to the top of the league, for 21 hours at least. For our next 2 games we’ll be without Corpus Christie so presumably it’ll be a front 6 of Brown, McGregor, Forrest, Ntcham, Elyounnoussi, Edouard.
And another thing –
From a hiberno perspective we’re all now sitting here thinking about a Brexit “Deal” and the panic of finally getting a deal done now……I don’t want to talk about a deal, I dont want a Brexit at all of any shape or form but the media now have us all herded in the one direction. That gets me angry.
It’s a bit like the media going gung-ho on the ” pyrotechnics” issue ( especially if Celtic are in the dock!)- Flares for godsake!!!!!?????, when the game in Scotland has been hi-jacked by frauds and shysters……………

A curious footnote to yesterday’s sightseeing… at the top of the cable car in Dubrovnik, I nearly walked into a teen, and I had to do a double take to confirm this, that was wearing a Sevco tap. The hideous white one with the blue and red sash. Somebody younger than 50, wearing a Sevco Tap! How weird.

The new Sevco director of football is the perfect Dave King appointment. It sounds good on the face of it.
Southampton had a great reputation for buying or selling players. Victor Wanyama, Virgil Van Dijk, Dejan Lovren, Sadio Mane etc.However, his appointment is actually where the scouting at Southampton started to fall apart. The real mastermind is the chap Paul Mitchell (currently with RB Leipzig)
I’m sure the Scottish press will be keen to give Wilson credit for the Van Dijk and Mane signings though… who cares about the truth?
Further to that, the view from Southampton fans seems to be good riddance.
