Even if we qualify next week tonight is totally unacceptable.

PS. You won’t belive this. Sitting outside on my ground floor patio, in Corfu, what at first I thought was a rat has run along the doorway – and stpped beside me. Slowed by the drink I didn’t jump the height of myself and realised it’s a wee hedgehog. I’ve now got the photos to prove it!

In the case of Efe, we have had three different managers doing the same thing, i.e. playing him – is that insanity to the power of three?

We’ve only played a handful of games and that pitch was shocking a real leveller for anyone who’s played on one will tell you.

It’s always the same when a new man comes in.
Everybody gets the chance to prove themselves in knock up games, – whilst the ‘long suffering’ support have been witnesses for seasons.
BR is a victim (well paid) at the moment, it happens to all new Celtic managers.
We’ll see how he shapes up when he has had time, to get rid and buy his own players.

Sort of true, but surely BR watched some of our games last season and once he got the job watched most of our games on DVD.
After watching all those hours of football, he decided that LG should play on the wing and not up front, he decides that Efe should play, and that sending on Forrest to change a game works???
No fair! I missed half of our mis-controlled balls ,wayward passes and lost 50/50’s because of our dark strips against that dark shadow tonight.

Seriously though, BR is going to have to be ruthless with that playing squad. Whether he’ll be able to be ruthless enough with the board is another matter.

Jim, You cannot possibly get rid of 10 or 12 players all at once. These guys have contracts. Who is going to buy them. If you pay off their contracts it will cost many millions, where do you then get the money to buy replacements,
We need to get in 3 or 4 and get rid of 7 or 8 OK but it will take time.
Brendan was my first choice.
Honeymoon is now officially over.
If someone asked you, which parts of the team worked well last six months?
I would have said, Griffiths up front, Tierneys bursts forward and Roberts ability to score and create by beating his man.
New manager, gets rid of all we were good at and we sink new depths.
I think this definitely our most embarrassing defeat ever although pitch, first game, heat, new manager, all mitigating issues.

Ah but the question is – who’s idea was it to sign Efe in the first place?
He came through the doors at Celtic at a time when a host of dudu’s diddies appeared in successive transfer windows with no input from the manager. Gershon , balde, Bitton etc
Johan Mjallby, part of the coaching team in place when Efe was signed, was scathing about him at half time tonight. He’s clearly not a fan.
That Efe is even here for successive managers to pick/ to default to in the face of injuries is down to the policy of Lawwell and park finding turds in the Israeli leagues, getting the manager of the day to polish them, in the hope of selling them onto England.
Blame Lawwell and park for the likes of Efe being here, not the managers who have had such dross imposed on them in the name of “asset management and favourable player trading”

Brendan Rodgers hands were tied tonight. He went with a team that had European experience with the exception of Saidy Janko and Moussa Dembele. What he didn’t take into account was that European experience means diddly squat if you are a perennial under achiever. Had he played the young inexperienced team and ended with the same result he would be taking pelters for it.
As I said earlier, he learned more tonight about his squad than in any of the other games. We need to get through this round and accept that Europa league would be a better starting point for us and Brendan. He made wholesale changes in the second half of all his build up games so far, we are only at half time in this game.
A keen sense of the ridiculous…
Hats off to CQN – it was only a matter of time before it was argued which is better…..black or white.

I have no doubts Brendan will sort things out.
Unfortunately right now he has to say things that are going to p people off but he has harmony to think about. TBH I think the dressing is in factions.
Some thinking they are better than what they are.
We should have Won many more trophies over the last 5 years or so but our players are weak willed – there can be no doubt about that now. Time to get the Youngsters in, or as many as possible, with 2 (even 3) experienced players paid Good Money to really bring them on.
The pitch was a disgrace, Celtic shouldn’t be playing these teams on these pitches, But we are.
The game is all about the Big Nations and them only – It needs smashed to smithereeens. I know it won’t be though.
The Future are the Kieran Tierney’s of this Club.
I’d make him the Captain ASAP.
I’d expect Brendan to be making big changes to the Centre of Midfield, as soon as he can, the thing is these things can take Time because of Player Power.
WGS had a shocker and he ended up getting us to a place we were Desperate to get to, and we deserved to be under Martin. Twice.
I see his influence in the fitba that the midfield is playing right now. Remnants that have to be removed, Lenny really bought into WGS style for Europe, Who can Blame him?
Ronny had a Long term plan – Obviously wrong now.

There are a few good original 67s on here and they post in good times and in bad. You have been around long enough to know that we get a plethora of new named posters, many with 67 added to their sign in. They’re like Superman and Clark Cent with 67 instead of specs.
Its one thing getting rid of players……replacing them with BETTER players is the really hard part…..even if we were willing to spend the money.
By and large the squad we have right now will be the squad for the season,maybe 2 or 3 in and 2 or 3 out but cant see a radical overhaul.

what does it say if we need to get rid of 7 or 8 of our starters?! why/how is it possible that we are getting so much crap? And as someone (sorry, I cant remember who) said earlier, this same pile of crap won the league by a mile last season.
What does that say? it tells me that we are big fish in a very poor pond, and that the game in scotland (and most scottish players … although I realize that many Celtic players are not scottish) are behind most other countries …. frankly, I see better football played in the MLS than in the SPL ….
for me, last season, only KT and LG would have gotten pass marks by combining 100% effort with decent results … the rest … not even close.
and clearly, the coaching isn’t making them decent pros …
so, there is a fundamental problem in scottish football …. poor players poorly coached.
so, if we get rid of the 7 or 8 poor players, why would we expect those coming in to do any better?
