  1. Ffs… We were p*sh, a new manager that will whittle out the passengers, give the man the time to sort it.

    Disappointed, yep… Early days.

As said before ” Of the unimportant things in life, football (Celtic) is the most important.” Family is always top of the list of the important things in life. Long may her health improve.

I was dis-appointed BR did not anticipate better, re conditions, attitude of part timers etc.we should have bombarded them in their own 18 yd box, instead we allowed them some belief.

This was not a climate for Christie,or Rogic,Biton,or latterly Forrest, I think he either mis-read the opposition or the players we have.We need some tough guys fast.

  8. Brendan will learn the hard way it seems

Did he not speak to the ordinary fan in the street at all ?

    Efe- finished

Brown and bitton – 2 slow and can only pass sideways (if there lucky)

    Forrest – finished

    Armstrong-average squad player

    Cifcti- average spl player

Shocking , I hate these first round games with a passion.

We couldn’t pass our way through them.. Why wasn’t this picked up at half time ? The long ball is another useful tactic .. Try it at times.

  9. For what it’s worth –

    Gordon (6)

    Janko (6), Eric (6), Efe (3), Tierney (5)

    Brown (6), Bitton (2), Rogic (4)

    Griffiths (5), Dembelle (4), Christie (4)

    Armstrong (6), Ciftci (7), Wee Jamesey (3)

    Total – 67 (unintentional coincidence), Average – 5.2

For me, not nearly as bad as Armedia and pitch clearly a leveler. However, given the pitch we should have gone much more direct much earlier.

Worst competitive result of the season (so far!)

BUt should improve the attendance next week!

    Night all.

  10. Dena29

That is the best news I have had in several months

So so happy for your family

Now Celtic, Brendan please start the clear out quickly

    Let’s look at tonight

    Janko – very poor

    Efe – very poor

    Savichenko – ok

    Tierney – poor

    Brown – poor

    Bitton – very poor

    Rogic – very poor

    Christie – poor

    Griffiths – poor

    Dembelle – poor

    Armstrong – ok

    Forrest – very poor

    Cifti – ok

How many of them deserve another chance

This does not include those missing from the squad

    Commons, Allan, Mulgrew, Johansen, Boyata,

    Should I go on ?

  11. I’m away to give my wee girl an extra hug before I go to my bed.

    DENA29

    Goodnight, God bless!

To all our friends on here in need, my thoughts and prayers go out you to as well.

    EL DIEGHO BHOY

    You too buddy!

  12. In a funny way (as long as we qualify next week) this might be the kick up the backside that’s needed for some serious investment in the squad.

  13. I think I could handle this better if they didn’t have such a stupid diddy wee name, red imps for crying out loud! :/

  14. macjay1 for Neil Lennon on 12th July 2016 9:50 pm

Why are we wearing black in high heat and humidity? Stupid, Stupid, Stupid!

    ========================================================

    Bloody good point.

    —————

Black is actually a better colour to wear in the heat.

    ============================================================

How did you do in Physics ?

    White reflects.

    Black absorbs.

    ——————

Maybe have a quick google then come back to me

  15. If Ajer started instead of Ambrose, if the middle two were McGregor and either Allan or Armstrong instead of the two snails and if Roberts played on the right up front (his usual position) with Griffiths centre (his usual position) and Dembele coming on from the left (like he often did for Fulham), would we have lost. Composure at the back, energy in the middle and square pegs in square holes up front.

  16. HRVATSKI JIM on 12TH JULY 2016 9:56 PM

Armstrong and Cifti were 2 of our better (less pish) players tonight.

  18. I am sure Roberts was left out due to the state of the park,

no doubt he will feature in the home leg

    Love to you both,God bless.

  20. i'vehadtochangemyname on

I suppose the big question is how long does DD think it’ll take to rebuild! He must know after the semi final shambles that it’s not a case of getting a replacement for one particular player or a new type of midfielder and so on -he must know that the squad essentially needs to be replaced or 4-5 better than spfl players need to come in. By implication he must have realised that the squad got to this point because of a strategy and that strategy is not fit for purpose. So how long DD? BR can’t change what we saw tonight in one or two windows.

  21. i'vehadtochangemyname on

SCOTT BROWN has told Celtic fans not to expect a goal avalanche in tonight’s Champions League qualifier against Lincoln Red Imps in Gibraltar

    He wasn’t kidding was he?

  22. BT

    Thanks!

Olivia has had more than her fair share of health issues.

She has had to be a trooper.

I hope young Marco is doing well too.

    Always in my prayers.

    Take care my friend!

  23. Ronny started his first few games with Leigh wide right – did not work back then either. Paddy back for next week. Dembele left and Griff central. Midfield is a worry too. Need a complete overhaul

  24. This is now a test for the whole club, not just the new manager.

When a big club suffers a defeat like tonight then they deal with it by showing at least one player the door!

In that regard we would be spoiled for choice since anyone who played could easily be dispensed with!

We need a spine for the team – that means signing at least one CB, two CMs who have the pace and courage to play, that was so badly missing tonight! We need at least one forward that BR trusts.

The need for a clear out just got more urgent.

The board and DD need to back their manager now!

  27. Possibly the worst result in our history. I think clyde and ict were worse (honourable mention to Ross County) but in European terms it’s keeping company with Bratislava.

I’ve seen enough of these results over the years to know that they come along every so often and slap you in the face. It’s how you react that measures you. If we comfortably over turn this in the 2nd leg and progress into the group stages then this will be seen as an embarrassing blip and will have context.

Not arguing with what Rodgers has done. Looked at the squad went with experience. Knows what he wants but the players of the quality we need won’t come just now. Tonight answered a lot of questions. Brown is done. Bitton is a charlatan. Efe? Well it’s fucking Efe. Armstrong needs a run in centre mid along with McGregor. We need a defensive midfielder, centre half and right back. Christie, Allan and Roberts need games and to be trusted.

It has parallels with bratislava as a team that has run its course getting a further chance under a new manager then blowing it. Difference is we can over turn the 1-0 and go through.

Hard decisions have just been made easier.

  30. Dena, as you said earlier there are more important things than Football. Best of luck to your wee ghirl and best of luck to El Diego Bhoy.

To all Celts everywhere going through hard times, May God be good to ye. To all Celts going haywire over the bloody match tonight, calm down for F**k sake. Our season or our future will not be defined by to nights game, if we win the tie it will be of less significance.

In retrospect it was crazy chasing of a goal against Artmedia that led to our losing the tie 4-5 if I remember correctly. If we had held the head and ended up losing by 2 or 3 we would have won the tie.
