    Have seen a couple of comments suggesting something similar to this and wanted to agree with them.

     

     

    If Brendan watched the amount of game on video that he claimed, then he must be trying to make a point tonight knowing that we will turn it round in the 2nd leg.

     

     

    The difference in the speed getting the ball forward when brown and Bitton play in the holding role when compared to say McGregor and Armstrong or henderson is unbelievable.

     

     

    Anyone who watched last seasons games or even this seasons friendlies would know that.

     

     

    The amount of posters making the same point as above and about efe, Griffiths out wide, no Patrick Roberts etc etc makes me think he must have done it to prove a ppint that he needs money to spend immediately

    Pity we couldn,t have had the two men of steel in the studio tonight , and the one commentating , playing , even at their age , would have put in a better showing . And I,ll bet they hurt more tonight than some who were playing . No heart in the team . Sorry to say .

    Most Celtic fans could have forecast the side, with the exception of the Griffiths

     

    and Roberts switch, which was coming if you’d watched pre season games and what Griffiths told the press

     

     

    As for Efe Ambrose he was the only fit CB other than O’Connell, most managers would select experience in such a game.

     

     

    With regard to James Forrest some think he’s pulling the wool over manager number for our maybe five if you include Gordon Strachan?

     

     

    These are the senior pros under contract at the club.

    The new manager’s comments tonight regarding trying to put tonight’s shambles into context are reminiscent of Liam Brady.

     

     

    He couldn’t understand why people were reacting badly to Celtic losing a League Cup QF at Airdrie.

     

     

    And another thing. See how people are using the heat as an excuse? Does it not get quite hot in Nigeria? Turkey? Israel?

    Do you think we have done as much as possible to give us a fighting chance to qualify for the Champions League group stage ? Please don’t tell me we still have time to bring players in, they should be in now unless they were at the Euro’s. Efe at Centre Back is another example of the couldn’t care less attitude at CP

    I have never seen a more clueless performance going forward this side of JF(77).

    I think we should crowd fund an advert in the papers to advertise every single Celtic player for sale apart from LG, KT, MD and Roberts but he is on loan. The rest can go to wherever They are rubbish. Sorry but they are pure average at best. Think of our past players. It’s embarrassing.

    Personally, I think the game in Scotland is broken … from those that run the game, to the overpaid, under-performing players at the top clubs …. it needs cleaned out and started over from the bottom up.

     

     

    It wasn’t that long ago that Scottish clubs were good in Europe, and many of the top English teams had Scottish players at their core … now, who is the most successful scottish player? James McCarthy, perhaps. A decent honest, but limited player ….

     

     

    something is rotten in the state of Denmark… and Gibratlar … and Glasgow ….

    I’m sure what Brendan’s saying to the media in the aftermath of that fiasco is quite different to what he’ll be saying, thinking and planning to do behind the scenes.

    Some will say its too early of course but this result raises questions already about BR – like it or not. It was obvious from when he breezed into CP that he had been extremely well groomed in PR and it seems like he has had a few sessions with the spin doctor as well! Tonight, early days or not, raises questions about his capabilities as a manager. You do remember he recently said that SB is a “coaches dream” so I guess that means the consistently malfunctioning SB continues to gain his place in the team under BR. That is alarm bells for me because SB is simply not good enough! OK JF? Well what do they say about the jerseys not shrinking. James they don’t shrink but BR placed you in the team tonight? Baffling and another alarm bell. The performance of KT? Not only his performance – his body-language?! It was sheer agony to watch the kid! A tragedy! Other than one dead-on cross to NC he might well have been on the bench! This has happened under BR’s watch – another alarm bell! And EA? No alarm bells there because we are all immune to the Effie syndrome! There were other elements well worthy of documenting but its late for me now – however its not late for BR! He already knows I would imagine about the shrinking jerseys but he also needs to know that right now we are not in the mood for the spin doctor spiel! in addition to the SB gaff he also says the pre-season could not have went better! He also said that he was preparing the team tonight as if they were playing RM or Barca! But you see they weren’t RM or Barca! They were just a bunch of imps! albeit well organised imps! But a few long balls into the box rather than the passing drivel we endured would have reaped more reward! He made a lot of glaring errors tonight did BR which is also a reflection on JK and the backroom team he brought in! They better learn fast and ACT fast – we are not talking major surgery here – recovery time would take too long and some of the patients are too badly damaged – whole new bodies are required! Ones that will grow into the jersey like they were tailor-made! Yes you are a top PR machine BR and you spin me till I’m dizzy but now you gotta knock me out by being the best Celtic manager ever! I’m still standing!

    Spot on. Lawwell is the elephant in the room. He has used his fav agent to bring in the Efes of this world. A centre half needed to be a priority signing —zilch done. Haggling with Toure if the corridor talk is accurate.

     

     

    Midfield no progress.

     

     

    Up front another project. Haggling with Villa over a fee for a wide player. Lawwell has no intention of agreeing to the asking price unless CL qualification is guaranteed. It’s the Craig Whyte approach low ball offers — when Villa will have advise the fee required to sell.

     

     

    BR now knows the reality. Lawwell still decides who comes in and ultimately who goes. He will also realise very quickly that 50% of Lawwells compensation is achieved by being a miserable beancounter interested in number one. Lawwells objectives are not aligned to BR or the supporters. That is why the club has been run into the ground by the bonus thief.

     

     

    As predicted in the early days of BR coming on board this would happen. I stated then I hoped BR could win—I am not so sure now. BR made mistakes tonight. It’s 1 nil to Lawwell in who runs Celtic.

     

     

     

    If Lawwell is supporting BR I would like to see him try and undermine him.

     

     

    Sack Lawwell now with Brown and Efe also moved on.

    My simple point is, after all the evidence to the contrary, this player has put us out of Europe at least twice, yet i read post after post saying how much they love him, and he’s a great guy, but FFS, open you’re eyes. They say he’s been picked on by the smsm, WHIT? He’s tit, full stop. This is my opinion, i believe what i see.

    3 THINGS

     

    1) Strange team selection from Brendan – Efe he had little choice other than 3 at the back – no Patrick Roberts was a surprise Brown Bitton Rogic not a lot of creativity in there – But I think he went for muscle and experience

     

    2) Their goal – the ball took an unusual bounce due to spin and surface – the surface in particular was a nightmare

     

    3) Woodwork twice !!!

     

     

    Big learning curve for Brendan – bet my house Patrick Roberts plays next week
