  1. GuyFawkesaforeverhero,

It’s just another sign of the times.

    Black and White.

We are all Brothers and Sisters, Black and Whites.

The Nasty One is having a Digital O because he is causing so much chaos and Death & destruction as he reaches Max Power.

Very Sad to see all the terrible events happening.

That Arab Spring was a Trigger.

It has some way to go to be as bad as Black Sunday.

fortunately we have another bite at the cherry next week, at home, maybe its the wake up call we all needed. Its basically the same team as last year, an as ma ol granny used to say, ” ye cant make a silk purse oot a sows ear”

Oh can any of the Res 12 guys or WC please explain why the UEFA web site still shows the current ‘Rangers’ team have inherited the trophys, honours and co-efficient points of Rangers 1872 incorporated 1899!, if as you say you’ve received corespondence that clearly states that they are a “new club/company” ? on the same page it even includes their recent signings ?

  5. That was depressing. Its gonna be along haul although the surface was a bit of a leveller, we were never comfortable on it all might.

  6. Muscat_Bhoy1264 on

    Two thoughts.

    1. How similar is it to Strachan’s first game in charge against Bratislava? A lot of players never played again.

    2. If you play 1 striker down the middle, it is easy to defend with 10 men behind the ball. We saw this time and time again at the Euro’s, so why this obsession with 4-2-3-1? It works if you have goal scoring wingers or midfielders if you don’t you will not score enough goals. Is it any wonder that the team who played 4-4-2 won the premier league?

  7. aromananonly1 on

Celtic will win the tie 4-1 on aggregate so calm down all trolls & bed wetters

So 4-1 against a part time team from Gibraltar would be business as usual ? What about the next round ? At what point should Celtic prepare properly for the Champions League ? When they’re out ? (Again)

  8. There is nothing in the history of most of this squad to indicate they can handle the second leg pressure. Time and time again they have failed when needed to step up.

  9. Here’s my reply from CTV for why I couldn’t get a picture, just audio.

    Hi xxxxxxx,

    Thank you for your email.

Unfortunately, the Club was unable to acquire the rights to broadcast the game live in the UK.

A full match replay will be available to watch on Celtic TV tonight at 10pm.

    Kind regards,

    Mathew

I wonder which part of the U.K. he thinks Gütersloh is in and which STD code +49 is?

I despair, piss poor service over the years for a not inconsiderable payment. That made my night :-(((

Matthew has just had both barrels

  10. The same players and the same rubbish as last year.

£10 million pounds for Biton….you must be joking!! Why didn’t we take the 6 million?

Three managers, Lennon, Deila and now Rogers still playing Ambrose. He should never wear a Celtic shirt again

Our 40 goals striker playing on the right wing? Forrest(he should be sent packing)playing on the left wing? Does Rogers know anything about football?

Pressing football, high tempo performance? A more ponderous performance is unimaginable. Brown is past his sell by date. Biton’s attempts at running made me as a 67 year old think that I still had a future in the game.

Keiran Tierney….have we ever seen him make so many back passes? Surely Rogers isn’t going to turn him into another robot.

The only player to lift the gloom last year was Roberts…where was he tonight? Sitting on the bench. He would have taken those amateurs to the cleaners.

To finalise, there was no evidence whatsoever what team plan has been worked on over the pre-season training. That Celtic team should hang there head in shame.

  11. An wit the F has the Arab spring got to do wi it.

    ======================

That question should be addressed to UEFA. The Head of Club Licensing & Financial Fair Play made it quite clear UEFA view any future application from the football club at Ibrox as being from a new club or a new club that has a contractual relationship with a company to run it. The key word is “new” for whatever form the applicant takes. UEFA made it quite clear that as a new club/company three years membership of the SFA was required before the club/company could apply for a UEFA licence. TRFC/RIFC had to wait three years before being eligible to apply.

Why that is not reflected on the UEFA web site is for UEFA to explain. I suspect it is a nuance that web template is not catered to handle so they web designers shoe horn the information into current design.

At the end of the day the CL&FFP Head is the ultimate authority and the letter from his department carries his signature.

  13. mogan67 on 13th July 2016 12:21 am

I watched Roberts in the friendlies. Gave the ball away carelessly quite a lot. BD did him a favour leaving him on the bench on that surface.

I think we need to develop a bit more of a long ball game but we need a target man to win it. Hump and run was the game for last night.

  14. Still waiting for a definitive reply from 9th July

    Xxxxxxx XxXxxxxx,

We thank you for your interest in UEFA.com and for taking the time to send us your feedback. Your comments and suggestions will help us to improve the website. Please refer to the link below for more information.

    Your feedback:

If The Rangers FC from Glasgow are a new club/company why does your website erroneously credit them with the history of Rangers FC, who were liquidated in 2012? UEFA have in fact supplied a group of Celtic shareholders under “Resolution 12” written confirmation that Rangers FC escaped punishment because of liquidation and that The Rangers FC are not liable for that punishment due to being a new club/company. Please correct this misleading content on your website. http://www.uefa.com/teamsandplayers/teams/club=50121/profile/history/index.html

Thank you for the reply, I have written to UEFA to ask the question, irrespective to what UEFA have said in regards to the new club/company, until the UEFA web site is altered to reflect that they are a new club it will never be accepted and contradicts what you are telling us UEFA has told you ?

Thank you for all your hard work, I miss your posts which are unfortunately few and far between these days, good luck and best wishes.

    Four things about tonight:

    1. Absolutely gutted with the performance and result tonight. This can and must be addressed and resolved. As bad as tonight was I have hope it can be fixed.

    2. Brilliant news on young miss Dena29 and look forward t seeing her and her auld maw soon at CP. , chuffed for you and the wean.

    3. I just heard of the death of a great man and a friend I’ve known for nearly 30 years. Gordon Watson RIP. WDH should know who this man is and will know of his work.

    4. Very disappointed to read your post at 11.43 Petec, In fact, I’m sick of your homophobic god related shite. Why don’t you take your vision of god and shove it up your small minded arse. You preach on here but have little to no tolerance of others. I’ve told you before I’m not a religious man, but your version of religion makes me sick and so happy I’m a non believer.

    Goodnight CQN

  19. I have just sat and watched the second half again tonight with my Dad and it was even worse the second time.

I have read all the comments and I think the biggest reason we lost tonight is not mentioned in any.

Can someone, anyone tell me why you would go into your first competitive game and not one of your players has played 90 minutes in any preseason games.

The most any of our players had played was 60 minutes, does anyone else think that is batshit crazy?

What our manager has done preseason is get our full squad, half fit.

We play a team fully up and running, then wonder why our half fit squad can’t reach the level we expect.

Not one player was close to the level they can play. Not one was ready, not one.

    So why?

Well we have a new manager who has to assess his squad.

Sorry no time for that, I amongst others were shouting for the change of Ronny to be made in March, to give us the time to prepare for these games.

    Would Brendan have been available?

A first eleven should have been earmarked and those players should have had minimum 2 ninety minutes games in the tank prior to our first competitive game.

The major faux pas was made because of the bloated size of our squad.

Why is our preparation and planning so bad year in year out, disgraceful.

    ACGR,

  22. Alasdair MacLean on

Am I correct in thinking that when the new “rangers” play Ross County in the league this season, Ross County are the first last / team in the whole Scottish system who have never played either of the 2 in the league? Maybe I haven’t worded that well, but if you get where I’m coming from, I’d like to think of some off the cuff statements / statistics – banner material.

  23. Had Ronny put out that team and made those subs then he’d rightly be getting severe criticism.

BR is new and will get it right with time. I am though amazed that he thought Efe was worth a starting place. Brown and Bitton are far too one dimensional to play alongside eachother. Moving Griffiths wide and taking on Forrest ? Not a good day for Brendan.

We need cover badly for Simonovic and Lustig. If BR ever plays Efe in another competitive match he should be sacked on the spot. The man is the worst Celtic player I’ve ever seen and it’s quite worrying BR played him tonight despite the injuries. It’s simply a case of anyone except Efe when we play games as important as CL qualifiers.

A horribly embarrassing night but not the disaster that surely awaits if we repeat that performance again at any stage from here on in.

  24. mullet and co 2 on

Interesting that Deila and Rodgers appear to have similar ideas on players best positions and the playing style.

4231 again and Griffiths played out on a wider position. He played there a few times under Ronny. I wonder how Leigh feels about playing there. I wonder if he will stick that out or even if there is a complaint on his behalf.

I said we needed a centre half, at least one centre mid and a centre forward. The centre forward may well have been bought but the Centre back qasa must. I accept we should have enough to get past red imps with players who should be playing for their future. However some of those know they could walk tomorrow and earn more at a championship club.

Replace Biton and Brown and buy a centre half worthy of the name, perm any combination of what’s left for the rest of midfield or push Brown wide.

ACGR Sorry to hear about your pal. We must cherish those we have still around us. Re your comment about the God_botherer, aye, I`m sick ae him tae.

  28. IniquitousIV on

Still not over the staggering lack of planning and coordination by the Board re the CL second round. They did not do any planning for the last 2 years, and have obviously done nothing at all for this year. They bought Dembele for 500,000, then did nothing whatsoever to address the glaring deficiencies apparent to every fan. Simunovic is a ponderous slow player made of glass. Ambrose is a disaster waiting to happen. Brown, Bitton and Johansen should have been immediately replaced after the Govan team fiasco in the cup, semi final.

We were humiliated tonight by a part time amateur team, who individually displayed more technical ability and pace than our shower of gutless chancers.

Bitton, Brown, Ambrose and Forrest must never wear a Celtic top again. Rodgers made some ludicrous decisions – Griff out wide, Forrest on the left, replacing Rogic rather than Bitton, Brown or Christie, inserting Cifti – has he never watched games from last season?

If he fails here, he will never be employed in football again. So why did the Board not support him with transfers before this date? Which European player will now agree to play for a team that loses to a team from Gibraltar?

Desmond, if you are reading this, get rid of Lawwell NOW, before we endure any more sickening humiliations. Safe standing? To watch this useless bunch of absolute gutless chancers? Absolutely the worst Celtic am I have watched in 53 years.

  29. Tonight was a stain on Celtic – a stain that will endure, a stain that eill be a standing joke for years.

Winning the second-leg will not eliminate that stain.

Not Lawwell’s fault – the players fault, first, last and always – just like Maribor, Malmo and Sevco.

A very sorry night for all 50,000 plus of us.

  30. Why has Brendan followed the previous 2 Celtic managers

    by mis-managing Big Efe ?

Efe is Celtic’s version of Yaya Toure but, only a cute manager

    will see it.

4-3-2-1 is a poor mans Wattenachio – drop it, get the Cellic heids oan.

    Cutting a long story short….Brendan’s a puppet.

Puppets will not cut it at Celtic Park.

WGS fluked it against a huns team who were downsizing when

Lloyds bank took over the BOS.

Yeah he won 3 in a row but, the crowds fell dramatically because

there was a dis-connect between the fans and the puppet-manager.

    BTM – puppet-manager = failure.

NFL young rebellious manager took on the cheating mibs who went on

strike coz, NFL put a spoke in the establishments wheels resulting in a

shame-game where NFL’s team got 3 players booked but, NFL took the

fall for the entire fiasco and, had the establishment on the run so, they

sent him bombs and bullets then, the kowtowing-Celtic-PLC-Hierarchy

reigned-in NFL and, put the club to the back of the bus.

    Ronny = puppet-manager = stadium emptying failure.

I’ve been laughed off the blog, dismissed as the resident nut case etc…

all for asking if – Brendan’s goat it ?

I still say that BR is a puppet-manager or, he wouldn’t be anywhere near

    Celtic Park…..imho.

The players at Celtic Park are good enough to win the domestic treble this

season and, get a run in Europe.

A cute, Celtic-cute manager could win the treble, sprinkled with some serious hunskelpings and, get the club into the CL-group-stages then…..be cute enough to finish 3rd and, get a guid run in the EL, out of the players who are available to the manager – right now – but, as I said, that manager has to be cute, Celtic-cute.

So much as I’ve seen so far,….sadly, Brendan Rodgers izny that cute, Celtic-cute manager….imho.

    Don’t blame….

    Desmond.

    Lawwell.

    The sleekit-PLC-Hierarchy.

    Brendan Rodgers.

    Celtic Players.

That’s right, don’t blame any of the mentioned folk above.

    Blame yer selves.

When ‘you’ were all, smugly scoffing into yer mountains of jelly & ice cream as the Aberdeen fans waved a banner at ‘you’ inside Celtic Park….proclaiming…..

“Celtic FC – Your Silence Is Deafening!”

….yeah, remember those lofty days ?

Ye see, there are no rebels to be found among the Celtic supporter base of today.

No, but, there will be plenty of snobs who will probably not feel the same pain as the Junglists who, did feel the pain of a Celtic board holding the clubs future in they’re hands and, threatening to take the club down a division just to hold onto they’re power base.

The cute, Celtic-Cute-Junglists, sacked the board for spitting on the graves of the ghosts of the Jungle.

A cute, Celtic-cute, Celtic supporter would ask himself this question…..

How many clubs did Celtic fight off to get, Brendan to come to Celtic ?

A manager who’s stock is in decline, comes to a club who’s players were put on they’re erses by the died-huns(LOL) in the SCSF 3 months ago.

Bottom line – Brendan isny a big enough BASTURT to manage Celtic.

That’s why the sleekit-PLC-Hierarchy, kitted Brendan out with puppet-strings,threw the demoralized Celtic support a squirrel and – they were queuing over night to buy tickets – taken to school by,

the sleekit-deceitful-PLC-Hierarchy who’ll also have an ace in the hole to pull the rug from the,

    Res12tance-Rebels.

    So, so sad.

Thanks for the birthday wishes my Celtic amigo’s ;-)

Btw, Big Cute, Celtic-Cute-McGhee is still gettable !
