What were the odds of Bobby Madden being appointed referee for our Scottish Cup semi-final against Newco? Fairly short, I would imagine. All we want from Bobby is a fair crack of the whip. When a Newco player lunges with both feet off the ground at Patrick Roberts, we don’t expect him to be distracted by checking his watch. When Leigh Griffiths is taken down, waist high, inside the box, before his opponent can get near the ball, we expect a penalty.
Such expectations were not on the coupon previously but are not too much to ask.

Sevco played two up front today. Both scored, including Methusaleh Misser, as did both wingers. Why did we persist with one up front, at home, against Dundee? Not only that, but our sole man up front, Dembele, barely reached jogging pace, before Brendan decided, far too late, to throw on Griffiths and Eduoard.
One barely mobile front man, combined with a build up tempo resembling that of a sloth, just played into the hands of Dundee. Let’s just hope we are a tad more adventurous tomorrow.

Oh! Yes, I remember now. We have no one that can take a decent corner. One goal all season, if I recall, from goodness knows how many corners.

Can’t disagree with any of that . If you were to look at out possession and pass completion stats you would be expecting them to be accompanied by at least a goal or two more per game. The worst example was probably the most recent game at Rugby park where our first shot on goal was a free kick in the 90th minute, comfortably saved by the keeper.
