McCoist at odds with hero Whyte

979

We all know Craig Whyte doesn’t get nearly enough credit for the wonderful job he is doing for Scottish football but his cause was not helped by rookie manager, Ally McCoist, who when asked today if Nikica Jelavic asked to leave Rangers said, “No he didn’t, not at all. I have a wonderful relationship with Nikica. He never said that.”

The Rangers manager then passed the buck onto the unfairly beleaguered club owner, telling STV, “We received a bid from Everton which Craig [Whyte] found acceptable. Therefore business was done.”

McCoist refused to take a manager’s responsibility for deciding who leaves the football club.  Craig Whyte made it clear to all concerned yesterday that Nikica Jelavic wanted to leave Rangers and there was no point keeping a player who didn’t want to be there.  Whyte needs the backing of everyone with the best interests of Scottish football at heart, including his manager.  The intrusive scrutiny he has been placed under in recent months will not help him achieve his objectives.

Whyte hasn’t put a foot wrong so far, we should all mind our own business and let him get on with his job. Eye on the prize, Craig.

  2. just had a quick read back. thinking about the rangers thing, i am sure CW said that using ticketup was normal practice and the club already owed £7 million, then borrowed a further £24 1/2 million, add to the £18 million he said his company paid to clear the loyds bank debt which leaves a total debt of £49 1/2 million.

    so £49 1/2 million

    +

tax case is another £49 million

    +

4 million short fall on turn over this season

    = £102,500,000

now if you want to get your hand on rangers and they win the tax case your gonna need at least 50 million to clear debt and 20 million working capital and work within a 35 million budget to keep money

on the other hand, it they lose the tax case, your talking about 122 million needed to buy a business that turns over 35 million

it will need to be a real billionaire willion to give up at least 5/ 10% of their wealth

    SERIOUSLY

  4. stephbhoy: I think we should refer to CW as Lee Harvey Oswald LHO, cause we all know the old board, media, fans & sir minty has set this guy up from day one, why they asking about the 24 mil when this could be theyre saying grace with newcofc if the taxman wins. narrow minded me thinks..

  5. Looking forward to listening to, Hugh Keevins talking about Neil on Clyde tonight.

Hugh always talks well about Neil. IMO!

    Hail! Hail!

  6. Evening All,

now it’s possible that I missed it but I’m just curious as to why there’s been no discussion of SFA refs (Stuart Dougal and Hugh Dallas) having been involved in officiating in the powderkeg fixtures in Cairo, that have come to light in the past few days , following the tragedy riots in Port Said.

I find it remarkable that this has never been brought to light before, regarding the suggestion that foreign refs should be brought in to referee Celtic and Rangers matches.

Any thoughts? Did I just miss it?

    Hail Hail!

    DEFALCATION

Someone posted earlier about the term ‘defalcation’. In educational circles defalcation meant ‘ having one’s sticky fingers in the till’ or in other words stealing money from , for example, the School Fund.

  8. Paul67,

    Tut, tut…hmmmmm.

It just gets better and better. But, I have a sneaky feeling that this promotion of Craig Whyte will take undue attention away from the really deserving person in this saga: Sir David Murray. His part should never be undermined or (conveniently) glossed over. He deserves better.

  9. looking forward to a cracking good old fashioned Cup game tomorrow of the boot and bollic variety. This will be tough, no question and not for the faint hearted. Let’s hope we don’t pick up any injuries as our main focus is the Championship. Come on the HOOPS.

Can anyone confirm that the vast majority of the Ticketus loan was indeed taken out by Whyte and not shuffled around ?

My point being that possibly this loan was already in place before Whyte took over and we are just witnessing a blame reassignment exercise.

    Thanks

    Hail Hail

  11. Caller – what happens if Rangers go into liquidation

Keevins – I hope they get straight back into the SPL, Scottish football needs them. The penalties could be exclusion from Europe for three years and points deduction for three years.

OK, let’s accept Hugh will never say he wants them to go to the wall but at least the penalties are getting more realistic.

    Paul67 –

This sounds like a bit of a crisis at the Ibrox outfit.

Apparently Craig Whyte is an excellent poker player though…

  13. Oh, dear. Messrs Dalziel and Keevins upset that integrity should come into play. Let’s just let them walk back in with impunity. Totally pathetic.

The thing that really pi**es me off every time I hear him talk about the TV contract….he used to go on about what a mess the SPL had made by renegotiating such a poor contract compared to the one offered some years ago by Sky.

Now he would have us believe Scottish football would die without that self same poor contract,

    The hypocrisy is mind numbing.

  14. Outstanding constraint from the present caller on Clyde.

    So the new tact is

Why are we talking about this now. Rangers are not even in Administration never mind Liquidation.

Monday night on Clyde @ 19:37 Hugh Keevins – “I personally. I personally wrote the story about what would befall Rangers in the event of this happening because I went and was briefed on the subject by the SPL.”

So we should be talking about yet sports Journos and the SPL are coming together and being briefed prior to the event.

Make your minds up ya Hun muppets.

Was thinking the same myself yesterday.

How could he borrow money against an asset he didn’t yet own.

Suppose the contract was based on ‘if’s’. Then again. . .
