McGEADY MISSES BROONY BONANZA

MARTIN O’NEILL has named his Republic of Ireland squad for Scott Brown’s testimonial – and former Celtic favourite Aiden McGeady misses out.

The winger’s chance of playing at Parkhead again in the champions skipper’s big game on May 20 – the day after the Scottish Cup Final – has been scuppered through injury.

However, ex-Celtic boss O’Neill has called on a number of familiar faces with Hoops-daft West Brom winger James McClean among them.

Middlesbrough keeper Darren Randolph, Everton full-back Seamus Coleman, who had a trial for the Parkhead sider when Gordon Strachan was the manager, Southampton striker Shane Long, former Manchester United defender John O’Shea are also set to feature.

Provisional squad:

GOALKEEPERS: Darren Randolph (Middlesbrough), Keiren Westwood (Sheffield Wednesday), Colin Doyle (Bradford City), Kieran O’Hara (Manchester United), Ian Lawlor (Doncaster Rovers), Conor O’Malley (Peterborough United);

DEFENDERS: Seamus Coleman (Everton), Cyrus Christie (Fulham), Matt Doherty (Wolves), Alex Pearce, Richard Keogh (Derby County), John Egan (Brentford), Shane Duffy (Brighton), Ciaran Clark (Newcastle), Declan Rice (West Ham), Kevin Long (Burnley), John O’Shea (Sunderland), Darragh Lenihan, Derrick Williams (Blackburn), Enda Stevens (Sheffield United), Greg Cunningham (Preston);
