Midfield protection

930

While Neil Lennon’s mind will be more engaged with preparations for next season than SPL results between now and then he will be a bit alarmed at how porous his midfield has been recently. Celtic have been leaking goals at the back in an alarming manner but the cover from midfield has contributed most to the problem.

Injuries have been disruptive but it’s surprising that the team shape has not been maintained, irrespective of who is playing.

  2. Dont see the point of bolstering our midfield when our strikers have had lowest goals scored of any Celtic strikeforce in 60 years

  3. Steinreignedsupreme,

Ross County will definitely be voting against the proposals. St Mirren therefore hold the key as they are apparently undecided.

Now we know exactly why Charles Green was at the game on Sunday …

Is that a fault of the forwards or a lack of service. It may be a mixture of both but I feel the midfield is too slow to get a ball accurately to the forwards before the opposition organise their defence..

Does anyone else think that the £500k bill for Legal expenses is part of the 5 way agreement? i.e. Charles agreed to pay this back in August?

What position would we have been in had the other clubs allowed Rangers straight back in to the SPL? Would Rangers then automatically have been stripped of titles and what would then have happend with the LNS commissioned piece?

Would the SFA have stuck with the transfer ban? If they did we can guarantee Rangers would be in relegation position A1 in the SPL. Would Media House Radio then be claiming that Rangers should be saved from relegation?

Rangers created this whole situation for Scottish Football. THE ONLY way to deal with it was for Rangers to start again. Thing is, they have not been punished and are being assisted at every opportunity by Rangers supporters in key positions in Scottish Football and society.

BTW has anyone asked Graeme Souness why he recieved an EBT yet?

This was when he was Blackburn manager right? Around the time he made the ‘men against boys’, proclamation.

I go along with Steinreignedsupreme on this, insofar that the 12-12-18 will get approved by the SPL clubs.

  24. I don’t think Roy McGregor of Ross County has come out and said he is voting No. The Daily Ranger, in their role as Newco cheerleader, have said he will vote No but what he actually says was that he was in favour of 80% of the proposal but the Ross County supporters were against the 12-12-18. His concern, rightly so, was selling season tickets for what he was saying was a 22 game league (he seems not to count the post split games for some reason)

    http://www.scotsman.com/the-scotsman/sport/football/macgregor-fears-reconstruction-could-end-season-tickets-1-2830872

  25. Kayal33,

McGregor said today (Daily Mail) that he wants redistribution of cash, one governing body and play offs in place for next season but reconstruction given more time for discussion.

If other clubs don’t agree to this then they will “probably” vote against.

Totally agree with all your sentiments.

“Rangers” WERE found guilty of the charges levied against them and were fined £250.000 which you rightly state will never be paid.

This whole situation will not just go away as many would like, however i am absolutely exasperated and tired by the terms Oldco and Newco.

Oldco is quoted when any blame or costs are involved and Newco for history etc.

The fact that Campbell Ogavie remains unscathed in his position tells us all we need to know about the current regime. How they have never fully been taken to task about redefining the word liquidation is quite unbelievable, or maybe not.
