Midfield protection

930

While Neil Lennon’s mind will be more engaged with preparations for next season than SPL results between now and then he will be a bit alarmed at how porous his midfield has been recently. Celtic have been leaking goals at the back in an alarming manner but the cover from midfield has contributed most to the problem.

Injuries have been disruptive but it’s surprising that the team shape has not been maintained, irrespective of who is playing.

But you are talking about systems of communism that have been abused by totalitarianism, and you’ve referenced other examples of communism based on USA propaganda, without weighing up the benefits over the shortcomings.

I can’t see any examples of where fascism has been abused, only examples where it has been exploited to suit the regime.

Fascism was replaced as a word, but the system was maintained more cleverly in the so-called western democracies since the 50s. I’m confused as to why you’re not more concerned about that than you are about the extinct threat of communism?

HH Amigo – all in the good spirit of debate :)

It’s not my preferred choice either, but to compare it to fascism is ludicrous.

I can almost guarantee that your wishes for your fellow man (person?) are identical to mine.

    Very simply,consideration for others.

Our Club is the prime example. Make a profit and assist the needy.

The only issue of divergence is how to achieve those aims.

You say “systems of communism that have been abused by totalitarianism”

    Which one wasn`t?

Where did communism work? Where did socialism work?

For me ,fascism and communism are the same thing.I abhor both.

I`m not more concerned about one than the other.

Latin American fascists are as bad as the former Eastern European dictators who as you know were merely puppets of Moscow.

  6. Macjay,

What’s your issues with socialism? Where has that proven to fail? I’ve a feeling you’d be quick to reference countries as socialist that you’ve referenced in the past as communist. They’re very different “ism”s, as you know!

Socialism seems to have become the big bad scary word since the communist threat was put to bed in the western world.

I’m all for liberalism, if the wealth class are prepared to let me sleep all day, drink all night, and steal back my grandad’s lost land earnings, liberally, without fear of a harsher punishment than they will receive. And I also expect to be able to dispense of tax liabilities with the shake of a hand :) My point being, why are you so quick to defend the status quo?

  16. The Noodle Shop was so busy last night night with all manner of flotsam and jetsam I don’t know if Brogan’s new piece was posted or not, well worth a read now that Hearts are also on the chopping block and who work at Hearts as well as Rangers? How many clubs have to go to the wall before somebody has the balls to remove this spectre from our game??

  18. Top of the morning to you all from a brilliantly sunny Fife.

We certainly need a midfield maestro, someone to boss the midfield and construct attacks with an eye for the defence-splitting pass.

Kayal seemed to fit the bill but then ran out of steam and found that in Scotland he was subject to the tackles of hammer-throwers that went unpunished by our Masonic referees.

We need a midfield architect (The Great Architect of the Universe would do) with the build of a rhinoceros.

Can’t think of any who fit this bill.

It seems the SFL ‘rebels’ demanded proof that the television contract still has four years to run at a meeting at Hampden on Tuesday.

Doncaster produced the proof – much to the frustration of patsy Longmuir, who has deliberately been spreading misinformation among his member clubs form the benefit of the only club in Scotland who do not merit a vote on reconstruction.

I expect the 12 12 18 proposal to be accepted and Longmuir’s position to become untenable. The promised post at Ibrox may no longer be available for him though.
