Miku, Lassad and Ambrose need to stretch legs

842

If you are going to Celtic Park tomorrow you will see a lot of photos like the one above.  Outside the ground 200 bucketeers will be collecting to raise money to send Oscar Knox for treatment for neauroblastoma.

Be prepared.  Bring spare cash with you, have it ready and do your bit for Oscar.

For the second week in a row we take on the team at the bottom of the table; see how that worked out last week.  After an awful August which saw Dundee’s return to the SPL marked with one point and no goals scored from four games, they picked up three points at Tynecastle before losing a lead late in the game against Motherwell last weekend.  Manager Barry Smith will have watched how St Johnstone went about their business six days ago and will believe his team can nick something at Celtic Park.

Neil Lennon (and some of us) will welcome the drop in intensity from Wednesday’s Champions League tie as Celtic are likely to give game time to those who joined the club three weeks ago.  Miku, Lassad and Ambrose all need to stretch their legs.

Big shout again for the guys raising money for Celtic Youth Development through TicPick.  It’s £1 to enter and you win £1000 for predicting 10 results.  I’ve gone for Celtic to beat Dundee, West Ham to beat Sunderland, Aberdeen and Motherwell to draw, Man City to beat Arsenal, St Mirren to beat Killie, Dundee United to beat Hearts, Man Utd to beat Liverpool, Hibs to beat Inverness, Chelsea to beat Stoke and Spurs to beat QPR.

Thanks for the heads up. It’s a while since I’ve been in Dublin, but I go back every few years. I’ll email the website with the up to date info.

Haven’t seen them do it yet, going to have to keep a good look out and listen for it tomorrow with a massive smile on my face.

  3. Bill McMurdo, I loathe and despise him, he was the agent of a former hero of mine – Mo Johnston. I still believe, to this day that he orchestrated Johnston defection to the Huns, and on a personal note the little boy in me died that day.

  5. Good evening friends.

I understand there’s no quiz tonight. So I’ll make do with cheering on old Mogga’s Middlesboro to get their first away win at Blackburn. Ceowd must be about 12,000 – armaggedon right enough.

    You inveterate madman.

Scott Brown has improved season on season (unlike Sammi, who was always great – it took some longer to see the light) and is now 2nd by a whisker to Wanyama as our best CM. Hopefully, he’ll continue his trajectory and fulfill his promise.

By the way, do you remember the time he came on in the away leg v Dynamo Moscow? It was the last 15 mins and he played behind the striker, Sammi – it was an improvised decision by Mowbray but it worked a treat. Brown was brilliant. Why can’t managers recognize a happy accident and turn it into a strength?

  7. As you will all be aware by now Tomorrow from 12:30 until 3pm 200+ volunteers will be rattling their buckets at you asking that you give what you can to help Wee Oscar Knox who requires immunotherapy treatment at a cost of £250 K that will help his body fight off further attacks of NEUROBLASTOMA 4, a childhood cancer. No donation is too small tomorrow ghuys & Ghirls.

For those of you who intend to enjoy a Pint tomorrow rather than rush down that last pint and miss the first few minutes of the Hoops, why not forego that last pint and donate its value to Wee Oscar by placing that money in one of Wee Oscar 4 Life’s Green Buckets. Or why not forego that halftime pie (let’s admit. They aren’t very nice anyway) and put that money in a Wee Oscar 4 Life Green Bucket.

Every single penny will be gratefully accepted.

Wee Oscar 4 Life Green Bucket Army looks forward to seeing you.

On behalf of Wee Oscar, Izzie (Oscars little sister), Leona (Oscar’s Mum) and Stephen (Oscar’s Dad), Wee Oscar 4 Life would like to take this opportunity to thank you in advance.

    Hail! Hail!

The villa is an hour’s drive from Reus. It’ll be raffled either at the quiz night next Saturday or auctioned at the race night in November mate.

I can’t see how they can see them as the same club as surely they would have to expel or kick Sevco out of the game .

If it’s proven that Ragers have cheated for 10yrs it can only be expulsion .stripping of titles just doesn’t cut it

OK bhoys – a heads up for England based Tims.

After reading about the bike ride from Celtic Park to Belfast in aid of wee Oscar which is being organised by some very goods CQN’rs I have decided to do the same from Leeds.

Starting from Leeds on Friday March 15th 2013 and (hopefully) ending up in Liverpool on Sat 16th – just in time for the overnight ferry to Belfast.

Arrival in Belfast will be 6.30am on St Patrick’s day where we should meet up with the lads from Glasgow and hopefully Oscar and his folks to say hello. It should be party time.

The bike ride will be along the Leeds-Liverpool canal and is 125 miles long approx.

There will be one overnight at a point approx halfway along the route.

I will be flying back to Leeds on Monday 18th and will arrange for the bikes to be transported back to Leeds the following week unless it’s goosed and I’ll ditch it.

If there are any of you who fancy joining in for a great cause and a good craic then let me know. There will be very little road cycling for those who, like me, would be a bit nervy of that. I’m crap on a bike and never cycle so useless eejits are more than welcome.

There are already a couple of us confirmed but the more the merrier.

Paul67 has my email address and I would be grateful if he would pass it on to interested parties.

For those who have wanted a challenge like this for years, now’s the time. All aboard.

  12. I was hearing about Kevin Bridges gig on Tuesday. Apparently ribbing Huns on defeat to Q of S. Huns walking out shouting watp and no surrender. Kevin apparently said trying to explain football in Glasgow was difficult. “It’s like a 2 horse race, except one of the horses is deid!”

Yup, they don’t really know if they are the Oldco or the Sevco

  15. Why would any hun go to a Kevin Bridges gig?

They KNOW he’s a TIM. …and they don’t have a sense of humour.

Take their money Kevin – you know it makes sense.

  18. Chuckles Green continues to spew out any old bunker rant in order to fuel the oppressed orcs victim complex…the ugly hordes continue to sing illegal sectarian songs at every away game…cause major disruption and social upheaval at small Scottish towns…they unfurl banners about paedophilia and set off flares…and the Green Brigade have a banner about a Zombie and end up brought to book by the SFA…crazy times indeed!

Just made a list of our squad, both fit and injured. Once we are back to a relatively full squed, Lenny is going to have a selection headache for sure. Not a bad dilemma to have.

I gave as good as I got to my Celtic-supporting mates. But when I went to Rangers games and sang that I was up to the knees in Fenian blood, I certainly didn’t envisage wading through the blood of people I considered friends.

Singing The Billy Boys was just a cultural thing. Silly, yes, but no more silly than the draconian laws that have now made singing it a chargeable offence.

    —–

Of course McMurdo did not envisage wading through the blood of his “Fenian Friends but what about Fenians who were not his pals..?

As for the Billy Boys being a “cultural thing” does that mean we can expect to learn about this culture at our educational institutions during classes or lectures.

For the hell of me I have been around this world a bit and I have yet to see a culture quite like the Billy Boys maybe I never got deep enough when I went potholing

I know some of us call Mc Murdo and his Billy Boy pals zombies these days but I’m slowly considering referring to them as those sinister singing little chocolate makers the Oompa Loompas
