TWO goals from Alvaro Morata sealed a spirited fightback by Atletico Madrid to overcome Feyenoord 3-2 in Champions League Group E in the Spanish capital tonight.
The Dutch, 2-0 conquerors over Celtic in Rotterdam a fortnight ago, led 2-1 just after the half-hour mark before they collapsed to defeat.
The visitors took the lead in the seventh minute with an own goal from Mario Hermoso, but the hosts levelled through Morata five minutes later.
However, the Eredivisie outfit went back in front with an opportunuinistic effort from David Hancko in the 33rd minute.
Once again, Atletico roared back in defiance and Antoine Griezmann levelled deep in first-half stoppage time.
Former Chelsea attacker Morata made sure of the points when he turned in a right-wing cross two minutes after the interval.
The Spanish cracks moved onto four points following the 1-1 draw with Lazio in Rome in their first group outing. The Dutch remained on three.
The Hoops face back-to-back encounters with Diego Simeone’s La Liga outfit at Parkhead on October 25 and again in Spain on Tuesday November 7.
