A certain Gow player stamped on one of our players.
We gave him benefit of doubt.
Was talking to a dad from Burgh that i knew a few weeks later and he started saying
his bhoy had caught said player with hard but fair challenge next time they clashed
his bhoy again won ball but was stamped on by opponent.
Coincidence ????
ps that Gow team turned pro youth i think for Airdrie.

I have no idea about that incident you refer to. To be honest we usually stood our ground and this sounds like a few years after my involvement.
One of my most heart warming moments also came down there when we managed our first away win in the face of intimidation.
There is a massive problem in how we coach young footballers in this country. Please understand that this is not exclusive to any area and I am sure there are good people looking after kids across all of Lanarkshire.
In my first two years as a coach I was an absolute idiot and a bad role model.
I learned as I grew into the role, hopefully today’s coaches take the same journey.
I witness young Scottish footballers at ages 14-16 being as good as any in this country and also at international tournaments. What happens from 16-19 remains a mystery to me.
Someone said yesterday they had a spare for Manchester; is it still available? I’m sorted but my mate is looking to go down.

Petec, there were some 2000’s who played for the 99’s teams so it could have been the same Ferguson.
Young Ferguson was a good player but with a horrible attitude on the pitch.
Can I just say that I can’t believe the naming of any young footballer is responsible behaviour .
Jc2, as I said earlier, gow Valley 99’s were a very good football team but their behaviour was appalling.
The stamping incident wouldn’t surprise me.
The one time EKYC 99”s played down there I thought there was going to be a punch up at the end of the game due to the gow Valley boys over the top and in your face celebrations after EKYC conceded a last minute penalty to lose the game

Ye see, Brendan, who will hopefully be here for a long time to come. should be charged with producing a guid, Cellic level of product on the pitch that will bring in a regular haul of trophies and, keep the once empty seats filled up.
The cynic in me can’t escape the notion that Brendan is here, purely for knee-jerk reasons rather than by design.
If it takes 30,000 empty seats in the stadium to get a manager worthy of the Cellic supporter’s credence to be recruited into the club, a supposedly eexllently run club, then that tells me that someone, somewhere within the structures of the club hasent been carrying out his / her duties to the best of that persons abilities and, to put it another way – has been disrespecting the paying Celtic supporters with the recent appointments of football managers into the club.
Why would a person try to cheapen the quality of the product in the dug out and, as a consequence, cheapen the quality of the product on the pitch and, as a consequence – cheat the honest, innocent, well meaning, faithful, cash injecting Celtic supporters ?
Why would someone in a position of authority at Cellic Park, do such a thing to the Cellic supporters.
I say that that person in question should stand charged with – cheating the Cellic supporters and, as a consequence, that cheat from within the club should be dismissed from the office that he / she would hold within Cellic Park.
Now, over the recent period of time….who has been removed from the chain of command at Cellic Park ?
I can only recall – John Park being removed.
Did John Park cheat the Cellic supporters ?
Some will say that he did with some of the players that he brought to the club under his capacity of chief scout…that’s open to debate…imho.
Ye see, if for example,…..John Park recruited….

Is it John Park’s fault that, the vast amounts of money that was taken in for the above mentioned player wasn’t reproduced back onto the pitch ?

Well, is it John Parks fault that only what ?….£1.5 million of that £12 million is spent on Bitton as a replacement ?

I canny make heid nor tail of all this Res:12 stuff but,….I do have a gut hunch that, the ‘Kill Ultra’ fella smells a rat with it and, that KU will be like a dog with a bone re: the rat that he / she smells.
I havent given Cellic any season ticket money since MO’N left the club and, have been looking on…from the outside. From that vantage point….I have witnessed a campaign by mibbery to get Rangers FC CL money pots….a then, Cellic chairman come out and say that Cellic had a dossier to prove this…..?…..a, Cellic PLC say that they were ‘surprised’ at the whitewash by LNS and the convenient duplicity surrounding that issue….?….the Cellic PLC take a back seat whilst, Neil Lennon was made to take fall for the entire fallout re: ‘The Shame Game’….?….the Cellic PLC reign-in Neil Lennon when he successfully challenged the mibs for they’re cheating of his team on the pitch which resulted in the mibs going on strike after getting caught lying to the Cellic manager….?….the Cellic PLC looking the other way as, sectarian e-mail distributor Hugh Dallas walked out of the SFA – he wizny sacked – and, into a position at UEFA where he could exert his influence over games involving Cellic Fc – the Juventus last 16 game for example…?
Ye see, the folk involved with this Res:12 issue are top, top, top quality.
But, for the life of me….why can’t Cellic supporters see that, the folk who run Cellic FC are part, more than part, of the establishment, the very same establishment who’ve cheated Cellic supporters since 1888….?

Hello again all you young rebels.
What a magnificent turnout at our Christmas BBQ the local park was
bouncing with hoopies everywhere, lots of new faces young and old.
Our 5 a side tournament was won for the first time by Mozambique
and last years champions Khazakstan had to scratch due to one
being hungover, two forgot their inhalers, and the other two were
still in the local pub.
The captain of the winning team 7 year old Liam said ” it was a great
honour to win this tournament it meant so much to us ” his ten year
old sister and midfield dynamo Mary said ” the Scots and Irish teams
made it so tough for us the way they were staggering all over the park
and it’s a wonder they managed to stay upright for the duration of
the games ”
But seriously a great day and lots of cash raised for the sick kids with
volunteers buying and wrapping presents as i write. and a surprise for
those wonderful nurses who look after the kids as they will get a present
as well this year.
Even a 5 minute rainstorm didn’t deter the crowd huddled under a
huge gum tree and the rest packed into our gazebo with the cry of
” c’mon you bhoys in green ” from one lot and ” Celtic ” from the
other side of the park , hilarious, but lots of new friendships made and
new members for our wee club.
Got to go now and see if Paddymac will buy me a wee curer , he’s
been known to do that ( very occasionally )
