Interesting conversation with a close friend of 40 years. A St. Mirren supporter, ( with strong Celtic leanings) season ticket holder and shareholder, Tartan Army club thingy etc. A football man all his life. An educated, intelligent man IMO.
Anyway, Sevco new club came up in conversation. My friend thought me ridiculous in refusing to accept the same club narrative and urged me to simply enjoy our superiority over this thing called rangers.
Much as I revel in our current domination of Scottish football, I cannot accept, suspend reality to accept the same club narrative.
My point in relating this is that my (well respected), friend represents a significant number of football followers, who seem quite willing to accept sevco as the same club as rangers. It’s easier that way.
Still a long way to go to win this particular battle. Scotland wants a rangers no matter the consequences seemingly.

No words needed, like you always say it’s good having a few players we can all relate too, as a club we need to chase the best we can get but when it’s our “own” it makes it that wee bit special, no wonder the Lions are revered ….. the 67min signing of one night in Lisbon (& the phones under the floodlights) is pretty special……..probably the best one will be Friday night in Maryhill, canny beat the Friday night fitba

We were in a pub in Murderwell after the game last night
One of my mates got into a heated debate with well fans
along the lines of them saying
“It was 4 years ago why cant you just move on”
We were saying they were 2nd a few times to Souness
and if they had went straight into CL instead of playing Dortmund
would have generated enough cash to rebuild their ground
They just thought we were bitter

Gerry, Junior is getting a ticket from one of his pals for Firhill on Friday.
He’s happy I won’t be with him as going by the look on his coupon at the Killie game, I shouldn’t have been singing Glasgow’s Green and White at my age.
motherwell’s first goal was amazing yesterday; I really thought tr had lost control of the ball for the last one – SA’s my fav though – couldn’t take it in . Don’t know what br’s got but he’s got lots of it
I told you it would be him telling you to calm down :-)

Jc2, I work with two Motherwell fans. One who dislikes both of the Ibrox clubs more than some of us.
The other thinks we are two cheeks of the same bum.
The former knew hee haw about resolution 12 but I filled him in it. He hoped it was successful and helps Scottish football get some respect back.
The other Motherwell was not interested in it as he saw it as typical o## f### tit for tat and wants us and them to both disappear.
My brother in.law is a St Mirren fan and has no interest at all in the cleaning up Scottish football and getting justice due to SFA mismanagement and lack of governance.
Gerry, I’m hoping Junior gets the same joy, myself, you and thousands of others got following our team, with our pals.
I watched the highlights of our game on sportsscene. When Stuart crossed for our second goal, Lasley being Lasley, pushed Stuart in the chest just as he crossed for Patrick.
Another pleasing thing about Tom’s goal was he did not hesitate using his right foot to shoot. He also brought out a save, earlier, from their goalie with another right foot shot.
Our players should be comfortable using either foot to pass or shoot.

Peter, you mentioned the other day about your boy playing against one of Barry Frrguson’s sons.
I don’t know if it was the same son of Ferguson who played for a team called G ow Valley from Lesmahagow.
The best team, football wise,my son has played against in his age group but their attitude totally stunk.
Junior’s team were getting horsed by gow Valley. Near the end of the game the ball was going out for a shy, Ferguson ‘s son, chased the ball then booted it about thirty feet from the pitch. A teammate of my son’s said aye very good to which he was told whit’s the score ya Rick.
Complete lack of class.
The gow Valley coach was ex Thistle player, Billy.McDonald.
They were eventually booted out of the league for the behaviour of the players, coaching staff and parents.

Jmccormick, I don’t know how true this is but the polis were called to a Wishaw Wanderers v Gow Valley 99’s game then a few months later, the Wishaw coach was assaulted by one of the gow Valley coaches.
The Red Haired Ferguson was playing for Airdrie 2000s.
The Referee, like Canamalar highlighted well on CQN, is responsible for the Safety of the Players…….

Nigel Benn was my favourite fighter back then, when that Super Middleweight division was Superb.
I can’t watch boxing anymore. Hearing Barry McGuigan say what he did about it, well it emphasised it.
I watched an interview on BBC 1 this Morning with Fern Britton before going out to watch my own Sons fitba. I thought it was good stuff.
Anyway I Looked through Nigels twitter feed and saw this – the address bar doesn’t look normal but I will try anyway.
