And by the way, thankyou for that. I have never met you since and so have never had the chance to say thanks in person. That was very good of you.

  2. A few people on here with the opinion that Dembele needs a rest?

There is a suggestion his game has declined in recent weeks.

Yesterday it was apparent that they had earmarked him as a danger and accordingly he had two and three men on him anytime he was around the box.

This created space for others so he was still very effective despite not scoring.

If you watch McGregors goal he played a huge part despite not touching the ball.It was a wonderful one-two between McGregor and Armstrong through the centre of defense but Moussa opened the space by dragging the two centre backs to the side of the goal creating the room for McG to run into and shoot.

What you do off the ball contributes as much as what you do with.

He also managed to get shots off despite always being marked tightly and drew a good save with a header.

    Bollox!

Still,I won’t get it wrong again,so thanks for that!

I suppose we could argue who was hardest done by for lack of caps, but they all have a case!

    Bertie Auld,I think,got three. Bobby Murdoch,twelve.

Some reward for the engine room in the country’s best-ever side.

Having said that, there were some quality players at that time with, for instance,Hibs.

They were largely overlooked too,I wonder why…

I think Kill Ultra thinks you are a plant put in by Celtic to divert Res12. I think the basis for that is your acquaintance with the Comp Secretary and discussions with him just before the AGM.

I have offered to put him right on what took place but if he has replied I’ve missed it.

I think KU thinks it would have been better had Celtic voted Res12 down but not sure what he hoped that would achieve.

What he may not have appreciated is that result would have removed the subsequent legitimate platform that an adjournment provided to take matters forward, so that in the fullness of time we got answer from UEFA that leaves Celtic with a decision to make now, being better informed than they were in 2013, when based on SFA responses everything was done properly and on which basis Celtic were going to vote Res12 down.

All I can say is if you were a plant to stop Res12 and it’s objective of SFA accountability being met you were bloody lousy at it.

  5. Big Jimmy

    Thanks, mate.

Wouldn’t have got anywhere near getting that answer, and I was lucky enough to have seen them all play.

Maybe not as the Lions Big Cup/ SC Final v Dons side, right enough, when I think about it.

My immediate response to that would be deleted. I’ll leave it to the imagination…

  7. Talking about being through on goal, what a finish by Alexis Sanchez for the Goonas yesterday one-on-one with the keeper.

Dummy, keeper dives, then chips him.

  8. BRTH & BMCUWP

I’ll get back to you Bhoys in the next 48 hours if that’s okay ? By email.

My only fitba bet today so far Liverpool to win 3-1 and Original to score anytime @ 16/1.

The bet us UP right now . stop the game ref !

    Kill Ultra,

I haven’t been on the blog for about a fortnight and have had no time to follow your posts, but when I walked into the BV yesterday I was hit with tales of supposed secret meetings and all sorts of other things which, to be honest, I had no answer to because I basically don’t understand what on earth was being talked about.

Your informants have confused you. I’ve only referred to bilateral meetings you’ve had with Michael Nicholson. You posted on 15th November ‘I had a long chat with the Company Secretary last night’. I believe you then had a meeting with Michael Nicholson after the AGM to discuss procedure for future meetings.

    ———–

Now, if you have something to say, for God’s sake come out and say it. Make your point. Say your piece and state why you think whatever it is you think so that it can be understood and if necessary answered.

I had plenty to say, and did so, in a letter to Peter Lawwell written on November 17.

    ———

Many years ago when I was just a nipper in the law, my then boss asked me to find out just who was on the other side of a case. When I discovered it was a QC he said “Good. Hopefully it will be someone good and clever!”

“Why would you want that? I asked

“Because they will be succinct and to the point. They will know their case, know their argument, and that leads to clarity about what the issue is. If you get a dummy on the other side all you get is confusion, mist, fog, and rubbish – and it is very hard for a judge to make a clear and concise decision based on confusion, fog and rubbish.”

That was a great lesson to learn.

I have no wish to offend you but for months you have hinted, teased, suggested, implied and kind of said that something is up with Res 12 and the way it was handled etc but you refuse to say what. You suggest that you have written here, there and everywhere and that you have asked about shareholdings and other information.

    —–

..you have written here, there, and everywhere….’ ??

I have written two letters to the Club. Your tendency to exaggerate doesn’t help you make your point.

‘One letter, written to Peter Lawwell has been answered with a brief acknowledgement. This letter related only broadly to Res12, more, in general terms, on your suitability to act on my behalf in any capacity. I have had no reply to my other letter, to Michael Nicholson, asking for the list of shareholders, written on October 29.

    ——-

You wrongly stated that I worked for Celtic Football Club or Celtic PLC and have implied that I have some kind of motive in derailing RES 12 – all of which, with respect, is complete balderdash.

I have never stated you worked for Celtic Football Club or Celtic PLC. Your careless use of such ‘facts’ to suit your purpose doesn’t help advance your argument.

    ———

I repeat if you have something to say, then say it. I have invited you to e-mail me and I will answer in a civil fashion and as fully as possible. To date you have failed to do so.

Your fellow reps, Auldheid and Canamalar have emailed several times. So, you have access to me email address, and to my personal details, name address, occupation, etc.

However, from what I have seen thus far your posts are worthy of inclusion in the scripted parts for Isa from Still Game.

Unfinished stories, implied innuendo, blatant gossip, and a sweety wife’s whispers.

The ramblings of Navid’s wife are more intelligible.

I don’t expect you to believe how hard I’ve worked over the months and years in choosing my words carefully to sustain my arguments while at the same time preventing the debate reaching a ‘wider’ audience whose sympathies towards Celtic are not what they are here, and would undoubtedly have exploited what I had to say.

    ———-

Are you asking if the four representatives of the requisitioners were or are shareholders?

And to make things simple for you are you asking if those same people have since acquired more shares?

    —-

    a) I am asking what the shareholding status of each of the four representatives of the requisitioners was at the time Resolution 12 was officially accepted as an item on the agenda at Celtic plc 2013 AGM

‘b) What is the present shareholding status of each of the four representatives of the requisitioners Resolution 12

‘BRTH. You and Auldheid and Camamalar have deliberately walked the Res 12 process through treacle for more than three years. I am convinced that when you and Morrissey (the only person incidentally who comes out of this with any credit, but much good work down the Swanee), you would have been well aware, when you agreed to set aside Res 12 of two concepts that are mutually exclusive: the first one that forces proper governance on the bodies that run our game game, and the other that accords with a Celtic plc financial strategy that has the Old Firm as an essential component.

Incidentally, I’m aware that no rules were broken. But, if it is of so little consequence as to the shareholding status of the four representatives then why the reluctance to answer?

    KILL ULTRA

See the post from BRTH at 220 re shareholding.

Additionally, they are not working on your behalf, but that of CANAMALAR.

If you want them to work on your behalf,or wish to raise a concern that they do not, propose your own resolution. I wish you well on it.

  11. After Bournemouth scored their 3rd goal v Liverpool their fans started singing,

To the tune if ” he’s one of our own”

” FC Bournemouth, WE SCORE WHEN WE WANT” !

Brilliant maybe we Celts should sing that one especially v Sevco ?

  12. embramike supporting Res 12 on

Further to discussions in the Blane Valley on Friday afternoon re refereeing decisions, may I follow up make the following comment after some comment on decisions in yesterday’s brilliant game …

Much is about context and interpretation rather than the literal wording of the laws. As a ref, I always knew which players had already been cautioned, and I always tried, within reason, to keep 11 v 11 on the pitch unless I had no alternative but to send a player off.

After all, I may remind you that under Law 12 … SENDING-OFF OFFENCES …

“A player, substitute or substituted player who commits any of the following offences is sent off:

    ….

o using offensive, insulting or abusive language and/or gestures”

If referees stuck inflexibly to the letter of the law, then we would be playing 7-a-side in the second half. In over 1,000 games as a referee, I only ever sent off 2 players for ‘focussed and vindictive language’ and yet I was ritually subjected to ‘sparkling wit and repartee’ in almost every game.

This is not an attempt to vindicate any refereeing decisions – I was never at SPFL level but was still a bit bemused on occasion – more pointing out the notion of ‘common sense’ that has to be applied (evenly) at times, as it’s surely about the spirit of the “Beautiful Game’ for all parties involved?

IMO that decision holds the key to everything.

Good post. I cannot fathom what the problem is and any relevance which it may, or may not, have. Now, more than ever we need to hold the SFA to account by progressing Res12 and seeking to educate supporters of other clubs deprived of European income by the cheating. HH

  16. Auldheid

Pretty much on the button there, yer man is on his plums, the first day he posted on here I called him out, for sure he is no friend of Celtic.

I see you have bad rain down your way, we have it also.

I don’t believe other teams show Moussa any more respect than they would Leigh. As Moussa is playing as a lone striker you would expect him to be outnumbered by defenders. As for crediting him for our first goal yesterday, I think he would be embarrassed by that.

No harm to the big guy, he’s a top talent and has done unbelievable well.

I raised the same point last week and was helfully advised by learned people on the blog that BDO who were granted leave to appeal in March 2016 have until March 2017 to submit the necessary papers.

Still seems ridiculous to me that by their procrastination BDO can effectively siff the creditors by depleting the pot should they fail. HH

  20. Italiabhoy

I know it’s ‘if’, but if the otherwise excellent De Bruyne had scored from 2 yards out into an undefended goal instead of missing the target, Citeh would have gone 2 ahead, and would’ve won yesterday’s game, playing some sparkling football in the process.

But they got Conte-countered after that, and were poor defensively.

I agree though, Chelsea look a better-balanced, stronger team, more disciplined side, more able to handle the bad luck Citeh experienced yesterday.

Wouldn’t discount Arsenal though, going by their performance against West Ham.
