Mr Green and his invidious meetings

739

Information leaked from Charles Green that he is due to meet Celtic chief executive, Peter Lawwell today.  I’ve no idea if it’s true (sooo many wrong steers from over there) but, if accurate, it puts our man in an invidious position.  Mr Green appears generous when reviewing the success of meetings.

At his infamous ‘Blood on their hands’ press conference, would-be-pope-of-Ibrox, Brian Kennedy, told us “HMRC will not agree to a CVA until the very last minute”.  Why would they?  We believe Green has offered £8.5m but he has spoken about having raised £20m.  If HMRC are negotiating at all (and I have my doubts) they will want as much of that £20m as possible, and I’m sure they will, as Mr Kennedy suggested, wait until the very last minute before agreeing to anything (they won’t, b.t.w.).

None of this matters to Mr Green, he can say HMRC told him they’ll scrub the debt if he paints the Blue Room pink and no one can contradict him.  He is likely to be looking for some comfort from Mr Lawwell but I am sure he will be told that Celtic are unable to support any measure to parachute a Newco into the SPL (after his CVA fails, which it will).  Mr Green, who is also trying to maintain the support of the backers needed to commit cash by Friday, will almost certainly emerge from the meeting uttering words like “constructive”, “helpful” or maybe even “very positive”.

He is wasting his time.  Words like “sobering”, “alarming” and “downright obstinate” might be closer to the truth.

My visits to cp with my da have been treasured memories for a long time for me as that was our “us time” . We never drank together as he was not a drinker. Celtic park was what we did, just the two of us.

  5. I find it incredible that Administrators have failed to deliver accounts in 3 months. We all know why Whytey couldn’t deliver them (Cooking the books). Surely to God D&D have been paying the Huns’ bills and that they have nothing to hide during their time in charge.

Me too. Three and a half months at the kind of price they charge and they haven’t managed to get the accounts in a state fit for publication?

Makes you wonder what exactly there is to hide or clean up.

  7. Once again a compelling post from Gordon:)

That Brian Glanville book is utterly compelling. He lays bare the sordid power games that benighted the Big Cup in that era.

No punches pulled from an unimpeachable sports journalist of the day.

    Fantastic book, refreshingly honest.

Tooting : can’t remember if Gordon quoted this story, but the ref in Lisbon allegedly had previous for taking bungs from Itslian teams. Lisbon was the first game he reffed involving an Italian side where the Italian team lost! Makes our result all the more remarkable.

I dont suppose Kurt Tenscher lurks on here, so the allegedly is probably not required!

  9. Posted on the Green Brigade website.

“The Green Brigade advise that we will remain in 111 next season. We would also advise all section members to renew as soon as possible and get behind the club 100% as ever.

All information regarding renewal issues and updated will be posted on this thread so please keep an eye out. Issues such as those who were in surrounding areas but lost tickets due to standing with us will also be addressed in due course.”

Have they had dialogue with Celtic I wonder?

    Don’t get me wrong.

I read about those articles yesterday and I’m sick too. I can’t belive why the journalists are that stupid to write these things and why the others believe all the journalists say it’s the truth.

I did not watch the programme you are talking about but let me guess:

1.)There was the story about black football player who played for third league team who was racially aboused.

2.) Ther was the story about Wisla fans (few) who aboused Cracovia and called them Jews.

3.) There was about pitch invasion in Bydgoszcz.

    Am I right?

Not many facts, only few and we the Poles and Ukrainians are worse than the Englishmen, the Germans and all good people from Western Europe.

If I’m not mistaken part of Glasgow calls you fenians, sends you back to Ireland becouse they think you are bad people.

Theo Wallcots family won’t go to Ukraine becouse they fear racism etc. They fear racism without seeing it without having seen the facts.

What a ridiculous behavour. I would say: I won’t go to Israeal becouse the Jews kill the Arabs. Don’t they? Are they not worse not worse than Ukrainians and the Poles?

Health Safety Executive says there were 31 000 people in Poland in 2011 who suffered Measles. Some firms do big money on injections. Many Irish pay becouse fear Measles in Poland.

    Now the facts:

year 2002 – 20 people suffered Measles in Poland

    year 2003 – 25

    year 2010 – 13

    year 2011 -31 (not 31 000)

One of the nights I had the argument about serious crimes in UK and Poland.

If I’m not mistaken in 2008 about 120 young people (18 years old and younger) were killed in UK.

Sad statistics in Poland say that from 1989 untill 2011 the number of young people killed is between 5 and 10. The number of those who stand in the Courts for said crimes is between 20 and 300.

You know what is the trick?

When I read about these articles I read: reprts say that situation in Ukraine is worse than that in Poland.

I fealt: thanks God we are better than those Ukrainians at least.

The trick is the journalists want to make money on fears and sell the newspapers. They tell you : we are better than those Polish and Ukrainians. Feel better.

I avoided this program on TV tonight for pretty much the same reason it seems to have upset you.

There’s a lot of propaganda in the UK just now in the run up to the Olympics, which consists of both pro-British and anti-European nonsense (or indeed anti-Iranian at the end of last year). While one channel tells us about the rest of naughty Europe we have the bonus of tributes to the diamond jubilee of the queen here on the other channels.

I think it means either one of two things:-

    1) The GB have been in dialogue with Celtic and have received enough of a reassurance regarding a newco that they feel comfortable enough to renew

    or

    2) Celtic have told them that if they don’t instruct the folk who sit in 111 to renew then their seats will be sold.

Lets say its the 1 above, a statement from PL unless its gonnae be explosive will not wash with the Celtic fans.
